Veil (lore)

The Veil is what the Astral Ward and the Kryptis call the ethereal wall between various realms—such as Nayos and Tyria—in the Mists.[1][2][3][4] Various entities have tried to breach this metaphysical barrier over the ages such as the Kryptis via their rifts,[5] leading to the Veil being compromised as it has been weakening in certain locations on Tyria in particular such as the Bastion of the Penitent and more recently the Horn of Maguuma region.[6][7] The Warden and their Astral Ward are tasked with protecting the veil between Tyria and the Mists.[8]
