Coin reward amount

Based on the tests I've done over a past couple of days, seems that the rewards is always 3 Silver coin 50 Copper coin, unless additional item is added as a reward, then I got additional 38 Copper coin. It seems that character level, effective level and location doesn't seems to affect it at all. Can anyone confirm that the cash reward only differs when you actually get an additional reward? And more importantly - how exactly additional rewards affect the coins? Is it always 3 Silver coin 88 Copper coin?

I got 400 today, level 56. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 03:58, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
WITH additional reward or just the coins?

Without. Just now I received it on a level 4 character, nothing extra, Silver coin. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 22:35, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
I've been doing the daily achievements every day since launch (I might have missed one, but I don't think so) and that seems low. Today I got a coin, a bank access express, and 5 Silver coin 27 Copper coin. Maybe it gets better if you do them consecutively? -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 20:06, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
I haven't missed a day yet. What level was the character you received that on? —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:14, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
59 or 60. I also received around 2.8k exp. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 21:11, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
Well, we already knew the experience scaled with level (3% of xp needed for next level), and now it sounds like the coin reward does, as well, similar to the cash-by-mail coin reward for completing hearts. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 21:16, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
I just got bonus items and Silver coin 46 Copper coin twice in a row. Since I got another bank express - once I got Silver coin 38 Copper coin with it, and once Silver coin 46 Copper coin the theory that reward is tied to bonus coins is defenitely busted, but I got a new one that the higher your level is, the higher the reward. Or what Armond said. I only haven't done them the 1st day on headstart. See my research anyway.

Today: level 62, no extra item, Silver coin 75 Copper coin and 2955 Experience.png. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 03:43, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
I just started getting Silver coin with no bonus item or Silver coin 46 Copper coin with bonus item. So it's either level dependant or consecutive/total done. Or maybe play time, but that would be odd.
Faalagorn/ 01:21, 15 September 2012 (UTC).
It's not related to playtime or consecutive dailies - check my data above. I haven't missed a day yet. One day I got Silver coin on my L56 character, then I got Silver coin on my L4 character, then I got Silver coin 75 Copper coin on my now-L62 character (apparently I have no luck because none of those had bonus items). It's obviously tied to level, but instead of being a linear scaling function like almost everything else, it's a stepped function. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 05:08, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Level 80 Asuran Engineer just got a reward that included Silver coin 73 Copper coin along with the Jug of Liquid Karma, Mystic Coin and Black Lion Trader Express. Server Time

Clarified. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:16, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
Keep in mind that "server time" can be displayed in-game, so that'd make it the most reliable way to check the reset time. At least in theory.
Faalagorn/ 14:00, 13 September 2012 (UTC).
I don't like that, because "server time" can be ambiguous - if you're playing in the EU region, what is server time there? CST? Or do all servers use Pacific time? And does it shift to follow PST/PDT? If the answer to that last question is "yes", then Daily achievements will reset at 5 PM "server time" (meaning PDT) for only a few more weeks, then they will rest at 6 PM "server time" (meaning PST). Stating times in reference to UTC is unambiguous. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:21, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
I'm playing in EU with EU client, my system locale is en-us, and the server time is the US server time. 5PM server time equals 2AM in Poland. it seems that server time = Pacific Time (always).

Types of Enemies

I have not been able to get a handle on which enemies are in the same Type class. It seems as if all of the Risen (anythings) count as a single type. Which makes getting this with a single character in Orr rather difficult. So I farm enemy types with my characters in other regions and let the lvl 80 character salvage a few items to get the daily award. Separ 02:08, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

I've wondered the same thing. If GW1 is anything to go by, "types" could be difficult to define logically. Your observation about Risen certainly hints at that. I suspect that we'll need a project level of effort to differentiate and classify all types. VVong|BA 22:24, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
Category:Bestiary--Relyk 22:33, 10 October 2012 (UTC)
That's great, but it still doesn't make clear the different types. The Animal category puts chickens, bulls and dolphins together. I haven't tested it, but I'm skeptical that they all count as the same type. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me. The bestiary article doesn't even list Animals at all. --VVong|BA 20:40, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
It seems that killing neutral creeps/animals like frog, rabbit, etc also considered as single Type of monster. So killing a frog and killing a rabbit still count as killing one same Type class of monster. I suspect that those yellow neutral animals like Deers, Bears, Rams, etc is countered as another Type class. Paladinofmm 02:21, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
My working theory is that "type" refers to Slayer category, but I've not done a scientific test to confirm this. The small animals count as one because they all fall under "Indiscriminate Slayer". Hold Me Closer, Necromancer 05:23, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
I agree with your working theory. That is the only theory that consistantly fit was I was observing over the last month. I wonder if it will be the same this month or did they change it to account for the new ambiant killer task. KJZ 01:26, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

Level of events/enemies relevant?

Is there a difference in reward depending on what level your enemies/events are? I.e. could one just stroll around the beginners area and have an easy time complete the daily, or would it be better to actually go into challenging areas?--Cyberman 21:53, 1 November 2012 (UTC)

You get the same credit for killing enemies or completing events for any area.--Relyk 22:24, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
If you wanted to, you could have an easier time getting your daily if you farmed in the beginner areas, but the daily thing is designed so that you can do what you would normally do when playing a game and still get credit for it. --Xu Davella 05:27, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

Notes about my update and standarizing pages as well as adding more info on them

I already revisited each achievement page once, trying to get one standard for all of them, but I wasn't 100% happy with it after that and I (finally) did it again, hopefully improving things even further :). I mostly wanted to add more detailed information, more consistent look in all achievement pages, and at the same time keeping things short and streamlined, without duplicate information.

If noone disagrees, I'd like to implement this changes in other achievement-related pages, so if you have something to say, write it here. Here's the detailed explanation of what I did:

  • I moved the achievement icon to the beginning of page now. Keeping the icon near the table might be nice indeed, but it looked like a weird hack placing it like this, plus I think it fits nice here, left to the small summary text. The first line or two near the icon should be a small summary of what kind of achievements are in this category.
  • Next, on the second line, I added an, quite important for me, information about how many achievements are there to do and how many points can be gained from doing every single achievement in this particular category. This is similar to the way game shows a total points gained from this category on the UI.
  • Then it's a general description explaining in-depth mechanic of the achievement. It's quite lengthy for Daily, because there are many oddities, quirks and things worth mentioning in this special type of achievement (repeatable, gives reward and have a chance for bonus rewards).
  • When it comes to achievement table, I never were happy with the current one because of two things:
    • I always wanted to include a description just like it appears in-game, that's why I "copy-pasted" the text from the game near each tier
    • This however brought two issues - one that the page became very wide and 2nd that I couldn't mark the oddities with lacking space between the "/" sign and 2nd number not corresponding the actual tier requirements (dungeons always show "X / 4", even when it's only require to do two paths to reach tier 2)
    • When I realized that the only situation when description is different is a plural/singular issue (like WvW achievements). But for this we can simply list a singular and plural version in each line, with a proper explanation note.
  • Finally, there's an "Acquisition" I'd like to add to every achievement - even obvious one. It should be clear why I added it - while making 60 kills might be an obvious requirement, placing it in acquisition section allowed me to list every little curiosity about this achievement without filling trivia and notes with ton of notes. I think it's REALLY convenient that way as opposed to trivia/notes section.

And changes exclusive to Daily:

  • I've added two tables with the base coin reward and bonus coin rewards. The base table comes from the Daily/Drop Rate page, while the bonus amount comes from my spreadsheet data.
I decided to add them with limited data to the main page, so non-editor users, that do not essentially look at the research pages could at least have a general idea how the coin reward works and how much they can get, while we, the editors (me included) can update the table with more and more data over time.

EDIT: Oh, also, becuase I added quite a few text, and my English is far from being perfect, I would be glad if someone could proof-read of what I wrote and fix any typos/mistakes/grammar errors that I made.

Update 2013-01-28

Have to say, I am not a big fan of the daily dodger bit being added, from the get go. I am sure Anet had their reasons, and they may even think they are good ones. But for me, not sure I like it. 69.183.30.198 04:09, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Interesting. For me, I filled out dodger before any others just due to my playstyle. --Thervold 04:51, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

I thought I read that you would be given a list of optional dailies. You complete, for example, 4 of 6 to get your daily reward. The 6 could change daily, but completing any 4 of them would satisfy the daily achievement. The 6 and 4 numbers are examples to illustrate the concept, not sure they are the numbers I read. This would support ANets claim to having players be rewarded for enjoying the game rather than grinding what someone else says you need to grind. So, they may plan on implementing this, or I may have misread. If they do, it would certainly alleviate this concern. --Mooseyfate 05:49, 30 January 2013 (UTC)
You read correctly, but it's planned for later on. They wrote on the forums after the update that they always planned to release the variable list first and then, after they are sure it's balanced and the mechanics work as expected, switching to a pick-from-list variation. No ETA given. 75.37.16.51 06:38, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

Choose an event where an area has been taken over. That usually comes with many dead NPCs. Spots like Falias Thorp in Wychmire Swamp or the Thaumanova Reactor work great. poke | talk 02:55, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
Thought I would point out that reviving the same NPC has a cool down timer of sorts. Rez'ing the same NPC while he's in the middle of enemies (like the multiple "Fisher" in Lake Feritas in Plains of Ashford); the Rock Drakes which surround them are hostile to the Fisher's immediately but only to players if the player attacks first. Rez'ing the Fisher and letting them die again to Rez immediately does NOT work. There is a cool down timer of sorts (actual time unsure; but it's less than ten minutes). Lancour 13:32, 13 March 2013 (UTC)

The international standard is that Monday is the first day of the week. Old American habits are not relevant to this wiki.

This wiki uses American English, so "old American habits" are just as valid a reason for presentation choices as the ISO 8601 standard, which uses Monday as the first day of the week. According to one website that makes its profit from calendars, "[i]n most cultures, Sunday is regarded as the first day of the week."

The only proper standard for this wiki is consensus, which in turn should be geared to what makes things easiest to understand for the players that use the wiki. I don't care if we use Monday or Sunday as the "first day." However, I do care that someone is arguing that one is better than the other without regard to what's best for readers. 75.37.20.148 16:57, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

No it is not. The wiki uses an American localisation, but the audience is international. When you cater to an international audience, use universal, international rules. The only reason we can't enforce an international English is because there isn't one. - Infinite - talk 18:04, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Regardless of the reasoning behind it, editors are generally encouraged to be bold instead of having to discuss every possible change before. So the edit was totally fine. If anyone has any objections, then a discussion can be brought up (like this). But as you seem to not care enough, I don’t understand your comment as a real objection, right? poke | talk 20:15, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Not sure of relevance, but look at any hang-up calendar (at least here in the Western Hemisphere)--------They all run Sunday to Saturday as the measure of a week. But, since every dating convention, be it weeks, months, years-----------is artificial, this seems to be a nit that doesn't need picking!! Undouble
American standard? Heck, that's less than 400 years old no matter how hard you stretch it. One must go much further back than any "American" or "international" standard. The standard of Sunday being the first day of the week is over 6000 years old; see Genesis 1:5 - "God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day." Daddicus 20:44, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
The day God rested, aka the seventh day, is the Sabbath, which Christians consider to be Sunday. So your biblical argument is actually working against you. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:54, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
Actually, no. Christians call Sunday the first day of the week; they just worship on the first day instead of the last day of the week (generally, seventh day proponents do exist).
But, the point wasn't so much to emphasize the Bible as it was to point out that Sunday was the first day of the week LONG before the U.S. existed. Daddicus 00:12, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
Christianity following Sunday as the first day of the week is not due to the religion but Americanism. But anyways, given how ArenaNet is an American company, we follow American localization, and the server follows American (specifically Pacific) timezone... I think we should just make it simple and use the American "old habits" for the order of days of the weeks in terms of what's first what's not. Konig 00:37, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
Guess what guys? This discussion is completely pointless anyway, since we don't have a days-of-week table anymore. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 01:23, 12 March 2013 (UTC)

"Unprofessional" Easy Veterans

Suggestions on places to find easy-to-kill veterans were removed by User:Infinite for being "very unprofessional". I notice that Daily Dodger and Daily Healer still include suggestions about where and how to easily obtain them, and am curious what makes these more "professional" than the verteran suggestions. Also, since when is "professionalism" a criteria for removing something? As far as I know, this wiki relies on volunteer amateurs, and I don't see anything about it in Guild_Wars_2_Wiki:Practices_and_processes. --Felbryn 17:44, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

This is essentially the same argument I always use for "unprofessional" content: it does not add substance to the article due to its sheer dumbed down approach on the game. Veterans are trash mobs, just like regular monsters. The reason I didn't remove dodger "tips" is because dodging currently requires a timing where you actually evade the attack perfectly (it won't connect earlier than that point, so this easier method to obtain them is actually beneficial). I had simply not seen the healer remark, but I admit to have used hotspots before, so I am fine with leaving that bit. As for the veterans, they are scattered everywhere, hardly scarce, and hardly a challenge. We don't have tips for daily kill variety, either. Besides, a list of veterans is already listed in the section. - Infinite - talk 18:56, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
And Yandere has added the best tip out there, just then, as well. An objective, non-amateuristic approach to the same issue. - Infinite - talk 18:59, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
There are some very useful events in Ruins of Orr such as defending the camp in Garden of Ilya and there are some Veteran Air Elementals north in the Lyssa area. The veteran dolyak tip was useful, there aren't many areas in lower levels that have two easy to kill veteran enemies sitting around.--Relyk ~ talk > 19:30, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

It sounds to me like you have no principled objection to offering advice on where or how any particular achievement might be accomplished, but merely felt that the particular advice you removed was of poor quality. Is that accurate? That is not at all the impression I got from your original editing comment about "professionalism". --Felbryn 22:31, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
...that's retarded — Skakid 20:11, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Well I don't have a problem with a few hints on the page, but the phrasing was a bit out of character for the wiki (calling them weak veterans). If it read something like "A few more easily accessible Veterans are: <insert location(s)>" I would see no reason why it definitely shouldn't be listed. We have loads of pages with hints and tips. — 08RayGame bug.png 00:05, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
And That's the full problem about it. It all differs with level / equip and, to be honest, skill as well. On my warrior i can kill every veteran, that is not influenced by event upscale HP gain or a skill point veteran, whatever the area in under 10 seconds. The lower its level the easier it gets, of course, due to the way stats get downscaled. So if i were to say where you can easily access easy veterans for your daily i would say "just find them anywhere". Even with my support necro i'd probably say that but then i'd go for some max lvl 40 as they die way faster. Nyways, Veteran's are trash mobs, except for a few exceptions that are strong as champions, like the crab in Lornar Pass and if it was me i would not add tips where to find "easy" accessible ones. Link the Veteran List and let the people think, im positive they will figure it out, hopefully.
If you really want to,I'd suggest oakhearts in starting regions, Caledon/Queensdale is where i know they are for sure, i dont know metrica/ascalon that well to be sure bout those regions. In Wayfarer are more then enough veterans all over the place, may it be Jotuns or Svanir. The easiest accessible for 80 chars would probably be something close to LA, lets say Gendarran Fields, Oakhearts west from the LA exit and north of Nebo Terace are all the easy Centaur Veterans that respawn on a 2 Minute Cycle and in the Mogul/Bombardment Event Magistrella 11:01, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
My "problem" with including "Veteran Kills" as part of a Daily Achievement is that it does NOT require the player to do anything more than "farm" a single "veteran" opponent. To me, that's NOT an "achievement" at all!!! The same holds true for "interacting" with a Laurel Vendor. To me, "Daily Achievements" should reflect accomplishments, of which the achievement is a part-----not the whole. eg: "Kill varieties" requires exploration--------as does "total kills". "Crafting", Healing, Collecting all require other actions to succeed. Personally, I'm not at thrilled to stay put just to complete a Daily Achievement--------it's bad enough to have to "kill" the same foe again and again, without making THAT obnoxious task worthy of a reward!!! You are absolutely correct, Felbryn. You are also entitled to undo his change. (And, he is NOT entitled to undo your undo.) If a revert war occurs due to calling in reinforcements, THEN the authorities on the Wiki can make a decision.

Ok this is in my opinion a pretty pointless discussion.... A wiki is supposed to be the HOLDER of knowledge not the WITHOLDER! If this information makes the game unbalanced/unsportsmanlike in any sense then it is an issue for Arena net not for the wiki moderators!

Daily Aquatic Slayer

No, it's correct. Days are based on the UTC clock, not any US time zone. It's already Wenesday on UTC. (The timestamp in your wiki sig is UTC, and there's a clock at the top of the page.) —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 02:49, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
I think you are referring to a known bug, reported many times on the forum already. It appears the display of Dailies uses your computer time and timezone settings, instead of the server time and timezone. Meaning that you wouldn't see the correct Dailies listed. So check if your system uses the wrong time or timezone. This is a temporary fix until ANet solves the issue, so that the display also uses the server time and timezone. — 08RayGame bug.png 08:46, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Day of the week

Where did we get the idea that certain tracks would only appear on certain days of the week? I am guessing someone set their system clock ahead to check several weeks in advance, however, ANet has never promised to stick to a consistent schedule and recent posts/interviews suggest that they are planning to mix things up more in the future. At least two tracks from today, a Friday, don't appear in the current list aquatic and veterans.

Wouldn't it be better to remove the right side of the chart entirely and emphasize what we have sufficient evidence for: that gatherer and events are required every day, but that the others vary. 75.37.20.148 00:55, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Current table of bonus coins

I'm just comparing Falagorn's "data" (which was what the bonus coin table was originally based on) with our own at Daily/Drop Rate#Coin and I'm thinking that the ranges don't match up. I've been watching carefully since I started recording (66 days) to see if there were any that didn't match the table.
I'll go out on a limb and say I believe both the level 80 and 21-30 entries are correct (500 and 225 respectively). I don't really have enough data to emphatically state it, but I'm pretty sure levels 1-20 are correct as well. I only have a handful in the other ranges, but again none are outliers.
I'll also posit that the bonus received (when there is one) is 10%. I doubt we could prove that, though, without developer input. Daddicus 21:48, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
I don't have a problem with the normal amounts of cash, its just the bonus amounts.
  • It bothers me that there is a Silver coin 78 Copper coin that looks suspicious - when falagorn got the data for the 578, it happened at the same time as when he received an additional item.
  • Also the lower limit of 50 Copper coin for 61-70. (probably an upper limit?) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 22:12, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, I messed up. I was looking at the table above that. Daddicus 23:35, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Were there actually 2 dailies on Tuesday 26 February 2013?

Could you actually earn 2 laurels in this one day?

Yes, because of the update. You could earn one laurel before the update, under the previous system of 5 predefined achievements, and a second after the update (and before midnight UTC) under the new system of 9 choose-your-own-adventure achievements. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 16:10, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
That sort of left players with only about 2 hours to get it, which screws most people over, considering that people from all over the world (different time zones) play the game.
The same thing happened on the day of the January update: people who happened to be logged on a few hours before midnight UTC got a chance to get an extra laurel. If you think being able to earn 42 laurels instead of 40 over the first month of the system constitutes "screwing people over," the you might want to post your concerns on the official forums. It seems likely that ANet will tweak the system at least one more time and it shouldn't be that hard for them to prevent double-dipping the next time -- after all, ANet prevented it from happening with the monthly rewards.
Or, you could decide that it's nice of ANet to give a few people a chance to earn 5% more laurels, even though you weren't one of them. 17:41, 27 February 2013 (UTC)

Jumping Puzzle Redux

Can you do Jumping Puzzles you completed previously for the daily? --Messenger 07:36, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Yes--Relyk ~ talk > 07:44, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Perhaps it was a bug then but I found I did not get credit for doing the same JP I did the last time it came up for daily though when I tried a different JP it popped straight away.

I find that if you completed a jumping puzzle in the previous ~24 hours it does not count towards the daily JP achievement. Separ 00:02, 4 April 2013 (UTC)

Daily Feast

I didn't have time to play today. Is the "daily feast" achievement correct? 25 food eaten? --Felbryn 08:55, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

yes--Relyk ~ talk > 09:30, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
Yep. Finally a use for all the low-level food people have been dumping into our guild bank from leveling their chefs. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:38, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
But such an opportunity lost. Just think—if they'd made the obvious generalization to "destroy any 25 items in your inventory", we could also have had a use for those leftover event items from hearts/events you already finished!
Some of the other achievements are a bit disappointing, but this is a new low IMO. Only a miniscule, negligible fraction of players are going to play long enough to actually benefit from 25 foods in one day, so for all practical purposes this is the daily flush-food-down-a-toilet achievement. --Felbryn 18:34, 8 March 2013 (UTC)
Agreed, this would make more sense for a monthly but then again it would be way to easy to spam through. poke | talk 19:27, 8 March 2013 (UTC)

Condition Remover Wrong?

I logged on today and did the Condition Remover achievement. It only required me to do 20, not the 50 posted here. I am unsure how to change the values in the Table. I see how to modify the table, but not the achievements themselves. If someone could confirm I am correct and modify the value that would be great.

20 is correct, probably a copy/paste error. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 16:37, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

Similar to the above "Unprofessional" Easy Veterans

This last edit is similarly unencyclopedic. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:24, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as it's presented properly. Why shouldn't we include simple advice on how to complete things? Storyline/dungeon walkthroughs are basically the same thing on a larger scale. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 16:35, 10 March 2013 (UTC)
In what way is it similar, and how do you see that as relevant? My reading of the discussion on "easy veterans" above was that a couple of people objected to that specific advice on the grounds that it was bad advice (but had no objection to good advice on the same topic) and that the rest of the posters had no problem with it at all. --Felbryn 18:33, 10 March 2013 (UTC)

Does Traits points count in Skill Point Accumulator?

Just logged in this morning on my level 17 Warrior, decided to start easy and went of exploring The groove. When I had taken 3 vistas, 7 POI and 2 WPs and had earned enough experienced to gain a level. Then I decided to look what I had to do for daily and saw that "Skill point Accumulator" was already at 66% (2 out of 3) and since I only been in The groove and Lions arch I am 100% I only gained one level. My thought now is if trait points also counts towards "Skill point Accumulator" daily? In that case, maybe also weapon skills count? --Rickard Englund 10:29, 19 March 2013 (UTC)

Just tried with gaining a new weapon skill with my spear, it did not increase the "Skill Point Accumulator". --Rickard Englund 10:31, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
You probably participated without realizing it in a skill challenge, and that gave you the extra skill point. --Alad 18:41, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
There are no skill challenges inside cities (the OP stated he had only been in The Grove and Lion's Arch). —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:11, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
It sounds like either you've forgotten something you did that would give you progress (maybe on another character, or in a play session the previous night after the daily reset?), or there's a bug that caused you to get extra progress without gaining a skill point. Either way, it seems unlikely that trait points have anything to do with it. If you really think trait points are responsible, the way to test it would be to make sure that gaining a level between 11 and 80 consistently gives you 2 progress towards this achievement but gaining a level between 2 and 10 gives you only 1. --Felbryn 21:16, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
Okay, I just had this too. I logged in and did nothing other than recycling 10 items I had in my inventory. The daily recycler achievement experience pushed me from level 71 to 72 and the skill point accumulator was suddenly on 2/3. I did not move or do anything else yet, so it definitely happened with the level-up. poke | talk 11:10, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Confirmation also; was watching the daily percents and leveling up from 73 to 74 did give 2 'skill point accumulator' points (was at 0% before and 66% after leveling up once). Seems to be an anomally. I don't have any characters that need skill points still so I can't help see if that counts also. Lancour 12:27, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Skill challenges only count for 1, I know that for sure. Now we need to test leveling a character under level 10 to see whether it's really trait points counting as skill points, or if leveling up just counts for 2 somehow. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:55, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
Sorry bad wording by me,.... I don't have any 'Weapon Skills' left to get. Leveling up from 73 to 74 gave progress of 2 on the daily 'Skill Point Accumulator'. I'll save a level 8 character for leveling next time this daily comes up in rotation to test your idea Dr ishmael. Lancour 13:02, 26 March 2013 (UTC)
I was referring back to the first post and section title. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:13, 26 March 2013 (UTC)

(reset indent) Confirmation here. Had a level 80 Character level up (80 to 80) and received only 33% in daily skill point accumulator (1/3 points gained). Then had a Level 32 character level up (32 to 33) and completed Skill point accumulator (received 2 of 3 points with level up). Trait points do seem to count as skill points for the daily. I don't have a character under level 10 to test them though sorry. Lancour 13:18, 5 April 2013 (UTC)

I've been trying to gather data using a character who is 5th level. I can confirm that one level up or skill point counts as 33%. Traits are not relevant. Daddicus 01:46, 6 April 2013 (UTC)
I guess that's a bit shocking, but I just leveled a character from 5 to 6 and got... 66% in the Skill Point Accumulator. I can't explain it and will wait for any confirmations... MalGalad 11:25, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
That is... shocking, indeed. I guess it's not the trait point, then, it's just leveling up itself that somehow adds 2 to the achievement. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:40, 12 April 2013 (UTC)
Just recheked, leveling character below 10 lvl gives 66% of SPA. Need video?.. MalGalad 00:57, 19 April 2013 (UTC)

The table is wrong

The table that shows the daily requirements is incorrect. It has Ascalonian event completer, but it's actually the Krytan one. Daddicus 00:33, 2 April 2013 (UTC)

It's not wrong, due to the latest server update it has been shifted a few days. (stupid wiki won't let me log in...) - Lady Rhonwyn The preceding unsigned comment was added by 195.240.6.207 (talk • contribs) at 19:30, 2 April 2013 (UTC).
It won't be truly possible to confirm this until May, but I don't think it's specifically a result of the server update. Dailies continued in cycle until April 1... wherein it became the same daily that was on March 1, not the daily that would've been after March 31. April 2-5 have matched March 2-5 as well. If May 1 is the same as April 1 and March 1, that suggests a fixed lookup table by day that was populated with a 14-day cycle with a few leftovers in 29-31. - Cait 10:24, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
Confirmed on May 1: March 1's dailies are April 1's dailies are May 1's dailies. The dailies are based by day of the month, not by day of the week. Cait 00:04, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Based on a cursory examination, it doesn't look like the day of the week is actually used in the behind-the-scenes math; can't we just change the first column from hard-coded day-of-week to hard-coded day-of-month? --Felbryn 06:02, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, but figuring out which row of that table corresponds to "tomorrow" is a royal pain, because the dates aren't current and the one equivalent to today doesn't stand out (plus there are duplicate entries!). Yesterday’s WvW dailies

Can anyone confirm that yesterday’s WvW dailies were really “Daily Mists Caravan Disruptor” and “Daily Mists Defense Restorer”? I didn’t really pay attention but I think it’s very unlikely that the 9th daily suddenly changed to Caravan Disruptor when it was only Invasion Defender before and when the 10th daily is always cycling between Caravan Disruptor and Defense Restorer. poke | talk 17:39, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

Daily Reviver: Reviving the same NPC multiple times sometimes doesn't advance the achievement

I found myself in a situation yesterday, where the same NPC was dying over and over again ('twas a delicate sylvari born a few hours before :D ). And I seem to have discovered that if you re-revive them too fast, it does not count to advance the achievement. As if there's a cooldown. Didn't think about trying to measure it, but it could be of the order of 15-30sec. OR, the NPC needs to get out of combat after being revived, before the next revive will count. OR, the NPC needs to get back to full health before the next revive will count. Go figure... --Alad (talk) 16:58, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

Queen's Jubilee changes

There are problems with the daily achievement.

I see 2 new dailies available, but I don't know how to add them to the table. In fact, I'm not even sure what they are. :)

  • Krytan Torchbearer
  • Daily Activity Participation

Daddicus (talk) 03:36, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

Added variables 12 and 13. We'll have to keep track over the next two weeks now. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 03:48, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Sadly, it's going to be more complicated than just two weeks. Yesterday, after the update, there was two new daily achievements as well : Daily Activity Participation (which I'm guessing is about the activities mentionned by Kiel, such as Crab Toss and Southsun Survival, since nothing I could do in the Queen's Jubilee would validate it), and a Daily something about the balloon tower events (3 had to be done). I don't remember the exact name, and it's not in my Recently Completed list anymore. I suppose there'll be new daily achievements in the rotation with each new Living World update, and this is going to make the complete automation of this page pretty much impossible... 88.140.237.35 03:59, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Also worth mentionning : I just did the Krytan Torchbearer achievement. I expected it to get validated after 1 torch run as the description said, but it only got validated after I did all four. No progress was displayed after the first three. However, there are two things to take into consideration :
* I did the first three runs under the effect of a god's speed boon
* I did the Upper City run last.
So in order to be sure what completes the achievement, could someone please try doing it without any speed boost, and try doing the Upper City run first ? Thanks. 88.140.237.35 04:26, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
I completed the Kormir road run first and the upper city run second. Then I received the daily. It looks like only the upper city run counts towards the daily. ~ dragon legacy 10:29, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
The people in Divinity's map chat confirm this problem and they claim that only the palace run counts. ~ dragon legacy 10:38, 7 August 2013 (UTC)

It would be appropriate so we can display the achievement itself there. We currently don't use our achievement table template for this, it wouldn't be hard to make a table and then have the daily template pull the subobject information.--Relyk ~ talk < 19:49, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
That's because every daily achievement is 1 tier and awards 1 AP, we don't really need a big overblown template to display them. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 20:00, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Daily subobject

Whew, User:Relyk/sandbox/dailycategory would have the table somewhere or maybe on "List of daily achievements". User:Relyk/sandbox/daily then pull the subobject data and displays it (formatted with User:Relyk/sandbox/daily, with a single line of code >.>). Then I have an example where we would pull all the achievements that contribute to Queen's Jubilee Completionist meta achievement; thankfully I have it coded to display the category so you can see all the achievements across categories. I am using the parent property right now since we don't set a meta achievement property yet, because we assumed only achievements within the category contribute to the meta achievement. We can also start pulling the daily achievements associated with specific activities such as jumping puzzles and minidungeons with the page property and/or the activity property. All that would have you moving around to the appropriate wiki articles and related achievements.

Or do we we simply not need to implement daily/monthly because we don't need to fully document it and semanticize it; or it's complicated and stuff?--Relyk ~ talk < 06:38, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
