One of Havroun Weibe's shamans, Hallveig, has reported that the Raven Sanctum has recently been taken over by the Fallen Voice and the Fallen Claw. Raven Shaman Hallveig is looking for volunteers to enter the sanctum and cleanse it of this menace.

— In-game description

Weekly Strike Mission: Voice of the Fallen and Claw of the Fallen is the second strike mission introduced into the game, taking place in Sanctum Arena.

Getting there[edit]

Players must own the Path of Fire expansion to join.

Players can select to join either a Public (only available when it is a Daily Strike Mission) or Squad (private) version of the instance. The Public version cannot start with less than 5 players and prevents new players from joining once the boss is engaged. The Squad version does not have the same restrictions but requires a raid-mode (10 player) squad to join.

Public and squad versions
  • Interact with the Strike Mission (map icon).png portal at the Point of interest (map icon).png Raven Pass in Bjora Marches (west of Waypoint (map icon).png Jora's Keep Waypoint).
  • Interact with the Strike Mission (map icon).png portal in Eye of the North (Waypoint (map icon).png Eye of the North Waypoint).

Rewards[edit]

Walkthrough[edit]

This strike mission acts as a good entry point for players tackling instanced content for the first time. Players will be introduced to the concept of 10-player content in a low-pressure environment and can then attempt the Shiverpeaks Pass and Fraenir of Jormag strike missions, which are of similar difficulty. Due to their relative ease of difficulty, these three strike missions are collectively referred to by the community as the "IBS EZ3" strike missions.

Claw of the Fallen and Voice of the Fallen[edit]

Health: 8,258,040 (each)
Enrage Timer: 10 minutes
Enrage Effect: Defeats all players
Fixation Mechanic: None

Healing and boons are proximity and priority-based, so it is important to stay near the group be in range of receiving them. Swiftness.png Swiftness is one of the few boons not removed when engaging a boss in instanced content and can thus be applied to the group beforehand.

Players with the Essence of Vigilance mastery can attack the nearby pylon to collect orbs to gain the Power of Vigilance.png Power of Vigilance effect. This grants players the  Shattered Psyche.png Shattered Psyche special action key to deal significant damage to the boss and its defiance bar.

A red field encircles the arena once players near either boss. Players standing on the field gain the Overcharged (Gate Golem).png Unrelenting Pain effect, which inflicts heavy damage every second.

The Voice applies ranged pressure whereas the Claw applies melee pressure:

Boss Skill Notes
Voice Arrows of the Fallen Fires an arc of six arrows, each dealing medium damage.
Escape Leaps backwards and leaves behind an Immobile.png immobilizing field.
Ghostly Arrow Fires an arrow at distant enemies that bounces to nearby foes.
Ghostly Grasp All players are targeted with an orange circle that activates after a delay, leaving an Immobile.png immobilizing field upon impact from an arrow.
Claw Flying Hammer Leaps to a distant target and slams its hammer, dealing medium damage.
Hammer Lunge Three-part auto-attack chain that resembles the Scrapper's Rocket Charge, with the third attack inflicting Knockdown.png Knockdown with a cascade of rectangular AoEs.
Hammer Slam Slams its hammer and deals medium damage.
Vengeful Aura Pulsing damage every 3 seconds.

Defeating a boss applies the Vengeance (Mordrem).png1 Enraged effect onto the remaining boss. This permanent stacking effect increases over time, requiring players to ideally defeat both bosses around the same time to minimize the number of stacks. Cleaving both bosses together can help keep both of them around the same health.

The Claw leaps to distant targets, allowing players to lure it onto the Voice. Because the leap targets all allies including pets and minions, players can better control where the Claw leaps to by either repositioning their allies, or summoning them during the fight and not before.

The Voice's attacks can be negated with projectile-related skills, such as projectile destruction and reflects. Otherwise, condition cleanses can remove the Immobile.png Immobile effect on players. Similarly, Aegis.png Aegis, Stability.png Stability, and stunbreaks negate the Knockdown.png Knockdown from the Claw.

Both Fallen periodically teleport to different parts of the arena and team-up for one powerful attack in the following order:

Team-Up Attack Notes
Hammer Spin The Claw spins in the middle and Launch.png Launches enemies on hit, redirecting arrows fired by the Voice and leaving damaging magic fields in their wake.
Groundshaker &
Groundpiercer
The Claw slams its hammer and creates a line of damaging magic, which is spread further by the arrows fired by the Voice.
Doubled Deluge The Voice and Claw each launch an arrow and hammer towards the center, generating a shock wave upon impact. This shock wave is avoidable damage and does not disable.
Deadly Synergy The Fallen combine in the middle as The Voice and the Claw and launch conal attacks in opposing directions, each leaving behind a damaging field. This attack ends after two full rotations or when the defiance bar is broken.

The health pool for both the Voice and the Claw are combined during Deadly Synergy then return to normal after they separate. Afterwards, they continue with their normal attacks before repeating the Team-Up attacks in the same order.

Upon defeating either boss, the remaining one teleports to the center then performs the following skills until defeat:

Skill Notes
Ghostly Barrage Cover a quadrant of the arena with a damaging field, starting west and moving clockwise. Unleash a shock wave after a full rotation and apply the Vengeance (Mordrem).png1 Enraged effect to the boss.
Vengeful Aura Pulsing damage every 3 seconds.

Players should stand on the southern quadrant then move to the western quadrant right before the final damaging field. Players must then dodge or jump the shock wave before returning to the southern quadrant and repeating the process.

Group positioning[edit]

South start

This start makes it easier to cleave both bosses in the beginning. However, it can result in more group movement compared to the north start.

  • Players should position themselves close to the southern outer edge of the ground pattern. This minimizes the distance needed to reach the Voice before the fight begins.
  • Focus on the Voice while cleaving down the Claw.
  • After the teleport, focus on the Voice (west) then switch to the Claw once near 20% health. Take care not to stand in the damaging field.
  • After the next teleport, focus on the Claw again (north). The shock wave can be blocked, dodged, jumped, or mitigated with stability. Depending on the group's damage, either continue to focus on the Claw until it is defeated, or split focus between both bosses.
  • Defeat the remaining Fallen once it teleports to the center of the arena.
North start

This start can result in less group movement compared to the south start. However, it is harder to cleave both bosses together in the beginning.

  • Players should position themselves close to the northern outer edge of the ground pattern. This minimizes the distance needed to reach the Claw before the fight begins.
  • Focus on the Claw while cleaving down the Voice if it is nearby.
  • After the teleport, stay in the same location (north) to focus on the Claw. Switch to the Voice once near 20% health. Take care not to stand in the damaging field.
  • After the next teleport, stay in the same location (north) to focus on the Voice. The shockwave can be blocked, dodged, jumped, or mitigated with stability. Depending on the group's damage, either continue to focus on the Voice until it is defeated, or split focus between both bosses.
  • Defeat the remaining Fallen once it teleports to the center of the arena.
