Dialogue[edit]
- Ahai. Were you sent out here by Steward Gixx to join our survey expedition?
- I wasn't sent by Gixx. What have you three learned about this place so far?
- This region was the focus of my scholarly research, though it's another thing entirely to be here in person. What can I answer for you?
- What do you know about Dry Top?
- These arid wastes eventually give way to the Maguuma Jungle, which we're hoping to reach on our mission. It looks as if there's been a great deal of seismic upheaval since this area was more traveled.
- I saw you sketching that tree in your journal. Can you tell me anything about the local flora and fauna?
- Everything here seems as harsh as the climate. We've seen nasty elementals that the locals call dust mites buzzing around in the sandstorms. There's also a local type of devourer worth avoiding.
- Can I ask you something else?
- Thanks for the information.
- Thanks for the information.
- What do you make of the tendrils that tore our passage open to this region?
- I have a theory that they're reaching all the way from the Maguuma Jungle, but I have no idea what could be driving them to attack. They're certainly disturbing.
- What do you know about Dry Top? (Same as above)
- I saw you sketching that tree in your journal. Can you tell me anything about the local flora and fauna? (Same as above)
- Thanks for the information.
- Wait—how did you three manage to get up here ahead of me?
- Maybe later.
- If human:
- That's an old Elonan greeting, right? Are you from the Ossan Quarter, back in the Reach?
- That's right. My ancestors fled Kourna generations ago. Growing up with all the old family tales of our lost estate inspired my lifelong interest in ancient history.
- What do you know about this place? (Same as "What do you know about Dry Top?" above)
- That's understandable. Thanks for your time.
- Sorry, I don't have time to chat right now.
Trivia[edit]
- Kitabu is a Kiswahili word for book.
