Sounds like a fine chap indeed. Puk 06:10, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

You should make a little profile of your characters, I like that sort of thing. Well, I've got a little half-assed one going on my page. Puk 03:04, 14 January 2013 (UTC)

Just FYI - we've got a {{guild upgrade infobox}} template now. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 16:30, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

I noticed shortly after making one of the final pages that needs it. Well, I guess I'll start converting them! The infobox version does look better. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 16:40, 29 October 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for your research, and nice find on the incosistent event names!

The Dragon's Stand articles are some of the least developed on the wiki. Thank you for trying to make sense of the success/failure meta chain! -- Dashface User Dashface.png 17:18, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
I think Straits of Devastation remains the least developed zone on the wiki... Maybe the metas there are good candidates for future sets. Konig (talk) 17:25, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

Quick Decoration Question[edit]

For Massive Balloon Bouquet and Sandstone Pillar, the pictures you took show more then one. Does they come in groups like that or are they just one object? - Doodleplex 19:49, 13 September 2016 (UTC)

They are separate, but have different a different appearance depending on the angle. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 19:50, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
Okay. Could would you mind retaking the picture of the Sandstone Pillar to show one by itself from straight on, and re-upload the other angles as separate images? - Doodleplex 19:56, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
I can do that, though I won't have access today. Alternatively, feel free to crop any stills from my guild hall decoration catalog video. The two decorations you mentioned are at 31:32 and 4:42. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 18:07, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
I'm reallllly not a fan of taking pictures from videos as in the past it's never worked out well. It'll be better to just retake new pictures. - Doodleplex 18:09, 14 September 2016 (UTC)

Concerning the Anniversary Sale Documentation[edit]

Hello Dashface. I've a question regarding the 26th of August; do you happen to know whether the Living World Season 2 Complete Pack was really offered, specifically discounted, on that day (and if yes, how much was the discount?)? I copied Dulfy's notes back then and forget to check on my other account — and to be honest, it makes no sense as the pack was available at that specific price she listed since it used to be offered for the same price before and afterwards. Thank you in advance. User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 20:08, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

I believe that Dulfy was incorrect and that it was already available with no change. I sent her a private message on Reddit about this at the time. I also mentioned that she didn't list the Bandit Sniper Appearance Pack that same day, and she didn't list the Golden Feather Wings Glider Combo the day before. This comment tipped me off about the LWS2 Complete Pack. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 20:17, 30 September 2016 (UTC)
Good to know; thank you for confirming this for me. User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 20:22, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

Thank you so much for uploading those, and going through those consumable/skin pages and fixing all the image links. It's really appreciated! G R E E N E R 16:15, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

No problem! -- Dashface User Dashface.png 16:17, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

BLTC Weapon Shots[edit]

Hi Dashface! Pretty late, but another thank you concerning the weapon shots you did — I'm envious of the quality and resolution of your images.
One request though: would you mind retaking the shots you uploaded that you took in the Honour of the Waves lobby (like this one, for example) in a better environment (preferably Seylan's Cliff of Contrast, where the diving goggles in the old Lion's Arch map were; as this map indicates? White backgrounds are sadly really distracting (apart from having that painful glare effect). I do not think we could come close to your quality if we were to replace the images, and it'd really be a waste in any case! Also, it'd be terrific if you could keep the consistency of the respective weapon galleries (i.e. the main image of short bows should be a stowed view, with an additional image of the weapon drawn if there is any particular visual effect).
Sorry for bothering you with this pedantry and thank you very much! User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 17:54, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Thanks. I had to put a heavy non-rotating monitor on its side to take those, but I do really like the extra detail we can see, which in some instances is even greater than the textures allow for, meaning that no detail is lost.
Although I originally tried the Honor of the Waves lobby for clean light and a clean background, I was never satisfied with the results I got there. In later screenshots I moved to Ela Makkay's campfire, but ended up finding that map you linked and have taken my most recent screenshots from Seylan's Cliff of Contrast. Besides time, the limiting factor right now is Transmutation Charges. I'll prioritise adding images for weapons that we don't have at all, like some from the Cavalier and Guild Cavalier sets, and I hope to go back to improve my less-than-ideal screenshots afterwards. That said, it's easier to do these by weapon type than weapon set, so the pattern might seem random.
Regarding consistency: Because some (even if not most) weapons have on-draw particle effects, lighting, or extensions, I believe that all weapon screenshots should be of the drawn weapon. Consistency with existing images is nice, but better would be to replace every bow/greatsword/staff/etc screenshot with a drawn version. What a weapon actually looks like is far more informative than its dormant state. The stowed version is basically trivia comparatively—its this version that should be the additional image (if its at all notable). -- Dashface User Dashface.png 09:59, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
I concur, I appreciate the level of details (and cleanness compared to the usual ruggedness of images of this kind) as well. Thank you for complying with my request. Concerning the missing weapon images for the Cavalier and the Guild Cavalier sets, I planned on getting these done today — that should save you some time and Transmutation Charges.
About the gallery consistency; I'd say this is something that requires a proper discussion — between more than two individuals — to find a consensus, and advise you to bring it forth to the Guild Wars 2 Wiki talk:Community portal. While I'm not yet fully convinced of the good it'll do us, particularly considering that we'd have to redo the majority of these galleries (which poses only a problem time-wise; Transmutation Charges or availability of weapons are no longer of concern), I'm not entirely opposed to the idea itself. User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 11:11, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
Transmutation Charges or availability of weapons are no longer of concern? -- Dashface User Dashface.png 12:30, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
Hm, I phrased that awkwardly. Neither are an issue any more though. Apologies, I'm not authorised to give a more detailed answer. User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 15:31, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
If you have access to unlimited skins and Transmutation Charges, maybe on a test server like I had access to late in the life of Guild Wars 1, then it looks like I don't need to be a part of the process. Just change your monitor orientation settings in Windows display settings to get high res vertical images. Feel feel to replace my wrong-location images. I'm totally fine with my images replaced so long as the new ones are more useful, even if they were uploaded very recently. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 16:00, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

(Reset indent) All right then. Thank you for the tip and for your understanding. Sorry for your loss of charges and time. User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 16:30, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

I forgot to mention that I used a second account and the games Field of View setting while in first-person camera to get the ideal zoom. I used GW2 Launchbuddy to do this on one PC. As a lead, the Gargoyle skins glow orange at night, and the bows have orange bowstrings, but we don't have those images yet. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 16:44, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
Oh joy, this is going to be fun. I appreciate your efforts even more now. And gargoyle weapon night shots, noted. Thanks! User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 16:53, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Hell, I owe you! That tip with changing my setting to vertical view was brilliant! Thanks a bunch! User Incarnazeus Signature.pngtalk 20:09, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

I saw you redirected the picture in your signature, User Dashface.png, to your talk page. The redirect doesn't work for me, and maybe not for others too. A workaround would be to use [[File:User Dashface.png |link=User talk:Dashface]] instead of [[File:User Dashface.png]], like this User Dashface.png. Have a nice day. ----Paw (talk) 12:28, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the heads-up. The image redirect worked when I set it up, but that was five years ago, so I guess something broke since then! I went into the settings and fixed it the way you suggested. While I was on the preferences page, I noticed that my account on this wiki will be ten years old on the 9th of next month! Not bad for a game that only came out four years ago!-- Dashface User Dashface.png 13:14, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Wow congratulations! That's very impressive. My account is not even two months old haha. -- Paw (talk) 15:53, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

HoT events[edit]

"I believe that all HoT events award more xp than our standard reward table indicates."
Nah I checked that after you said it for the Arrowhead hero challenge. See Template talk:Event rewards#Incorrect values for Heart of Maguuma events. The mushroom king was different because there was no exp/karma/gold with the event succeeded splash thing (this). The experience came in an event reward bouncy chest. —Azurem 15:53, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

Interesting weekly goal you made[edit]

You're either getting too generous or too lazy, not sure which: "Improve any Guild Wars 2 wiki article!" ; )

Congrats on 200 amazing weeks! G R E E N E R 15:27, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Thanks! I'd planned on doing this for 200 because it's what we did for 100. Yeah, it's easier to pick a very broad focus, but verifying a diverse set of articles always takes longer in the end! -- Dashface User Dashface.png 16:14, 24 April 2017 (UTC)

Just checking in[edit]

It's been a while since I've asked how things are going. From my perspective it looks like it's rolling along just fine, but if there's anything which can be done to help, just say the magic words. G R E E N E R 16:22, 5 August 2017 (UTC)

The project is still a success, but I've struggled to keep up with the gold distribution regularly due to available time and a desire to actually play the game. Though nobody has complained, I apologise to all those who have had to wait extra days! And know that it's coming! Looking ahead, I'll be away for a week leading up to the release of PoF, but I will nominate somebody to put up the sets for me in my absence. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 07:10, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
Well, for your sake and sanity I hope you find a moment to breathe, and yes, enjoy the game ; ). All the best in finding someone who you and Anet can agree upon to help out. Perhaps slowly bring someone else into the fold for a bit before you give them the reins for a week? Of course, I don't know the system which you and Anet have set up to manage this whole project!
Oh, and parting words: I love how I have to view 500 edits on the RC just to see back a day. I'm putting that on you and the people you keep bringing in. G R E E N E R 08:10, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
I just want to drop in and say that really I appreciate all your hard work in maintaining this project. It's a really fun and rewarding project to contribute to (and I don't just mean the gold/gems), and I think you've done an amazing job to keep this up for nearly a year! --Idris (talk) 09:37, 7 August 2017 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Enjoy your time away from the wiki! G R E E N E R 05:39, 16 September 2017 (UTC)

I never did properly welcome you back! *smacks own hand* Hope you found some lovely rest and relaxation. G R E E N E R 08:38, 22 October 2017 (UTC)

Haunted Loveseat[edit]

Hey Dash, since you're able to check the Haunted Loveseat, would you mind checking if it grants the Switch Seats skill? I'm not sure if ol' Caudecus minds players trying to sit in his lap. --Idris (talk) 13:16, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

Also just a heads up, I've been chasing after your edits adding italics to the achievement name for all those GH seats. :p --Idris (talk) 13:23, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
The Haunted Loveseat does not grant any special skills. Sitting on the Haunted Loveseat puts the sitter on the left (from the sitter's point of view) with an empty skill bar except for Dismount. And I will check my italics! -- Dashface User Dashface.png 13:27, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
Thanks a bunch! --Idris (talk) 13:28, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
I now notice on the article that the Haunted Loveseat already has someone sitting on the other half, which explains the lack of switching. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 13:30, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

Hi these are for you <3[edit]

Let me know if you'd like me to specifically list what needs updating if that helps! <3 -- Muirellthe Moon Geode.png 07:35, 5 April 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for this list! -- Dashface User Dashface.png 04:27, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
You are most welcome ^_^ <3 I'll keep looking for more stuff as I go around on my alts! It's been really fun doing that. I don't take the time to make gigantic edits because then I'll just sit there for 3 hours, but I stop long enough to check out various events, NPCs, and hearts I come across. -- Muirellthe Moon Geode.png 04:07, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
Okay, consider this list of requests filled! I put a green check and the Set number for those that I used, some of which are already in the Archive. I skipped over a few foe articles thatnow have an image and general description, as there are other image-less foes out there who could probably benefit from the attention first, and these skipped articles don't have any meaty improvements to make. Thank you again! -- Dashface User Dashface.png 13:47, 25 May 2018 (UTC)
Oops, I feel terrible I didn't see this sooner! Glad to help <3 I'll send you a new list soon! Muirellthe Moon Geode.png 22:03, 4 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi! Idris said that you're the one I should thank for "On Wiki Of Gold". So I just wanted to leave a little thank you note for hosting it! It's a great way to get new people motivated. ^^ Finexen (talk) 10:50, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

Hey. I saw from Guild_Wars_2_Wiki:Community_portal#Proposal:_Guild_Chat_transcripts that Stephane mailed you a guild chat transcript - did you have any success with it/do you need any help? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 17:44, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

I haven't found the time yet, and doing the whole series alone is definitely going to be an undertaking too big for me. But I had hoped to do this one episode as a really solid proof-of-concept. I hope to have news soon! -- Dashface User Dashface.png 16:19, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

More for you![edit]

The last three are lacking walkthroughs, but it's possible they may not need one - I didn't study the chapters too much and have totally forgotten what happens in them. Wish I had more for you, I've been pretty busy this summer so far, sorry!! Muirellthe Moon Geode.png 22:02, 20 June 2018 (UTC)

OWOG stats[edit]

Hey Delsea, I've added some answers to User:Chieftain Alex/wiki data. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:46, 20 October 2018 (UTC)

These are intriguing insights. Notably, I'm surprised to see four accounts older than 250 days go to to include 'On Wiki of Gold' within their first 25 edits and then go on to make over 1000 edits. That's fascinating! -- Dashface User Dashface.png 13:10, 21 October 2018 (UTC)
Likewise I'm baffled that people go to the (albeiet miniscule) effort of making an account, followed by not contributing for quite a while.
Looking at Special:Contributions/Sime, Special:Contributions/Rainspell, and Special:Contributions/Spellforcer seems to verify my findings. I have no idea however why Special:Contributions/J.Tesla appeared in that list (his first edit to the project was like edit #750 or something - as I said without pulling every single edit a user has made since 2007 (too heavy to ask the wiki for that) I can't exactly get the right answers. I'll settle for 75% accuracy! -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 16:26, 21 October 2018 (UTC)

Option to update your name to Delsea[edit]

My brain is telling me that I've brought this up with you before, but I can't seem to find it, so I'll do it again. If you're interested, we can change your account's name to "Delsea" for you. All pages under User:Dashface will be changed to redirects in the same motion. Let Tanetris or I know if that's something you'd like. G R E E N E R 01:10, 1 December 2018 (UTC)

The Making of GW2[edit]

That book was part of the Collector's Edition. Guild_Wars_2#Historical_Guild_Wars_2_Editions. [1] It is curious we don't have an article for it though. Konig (talk) 18:50, 1 January 2019 (UTC)

Sent you a mail[edit]

Hi Delsea,

I sent you a couple in-game mails to redeem some accumulated gems from OWoG! Just in case you see this wiki message before the in-game mail.

Thanks! — Cronos 19:12, 27 November 2022 (UTC)

Got the stuff; thanks again!
