Quotes vs Dialogue[edit]

Just a friendly head's up, events don't have "Quotes", they have "Dialogue". Quotes are only what NPCs say to you when you interact with them, like talking to the Banker syvlari in LA and how she sometimes says "More violets, less violence." =) - Doodleplex 16:39, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

Ah, I thought that dialogue was stuff like this where you interact with them, and stuff said in chat was listed under quotes. But absolutely everything except those annoying interact voice lines is dialogue?
So on the Corpse Handler page, the random stuff they say should be dialogue? And incidentally, was it okay to identify them as male and female to make the conversation between two people with the same name less confusing or should I have just left it as corpse handler talking to corpse handler? --Azurem (talk) 17:18, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
I think I was a tad confusing, my apologies. Yes, what you linked in that picture is dialogue. Quotes are, more or less, the dialogue that appears overhead of the NPC and you hear audio, but it doesn't appear in your chat box(though occasionally ambient dialogue also does this, which is pretty annoying when trying to document it). Also, what is on the Corpse Handler's page is actually Ambient dialogue, or dialogue that usually reoccurs as the npc hang out in certain areas and tends to repeat itself, and should be on the area page. And yes, referring to them as male and female is perfectly fine, I do that myself actually, though if it's two of the same gender, you can just put NPC #1 and NPC #2. I hope that's more clear for you. - Doodleplex 18:07, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
Okay, I think I understand now, thanks. I moved the Corpse Handler stuff onto the Chokevine Gorge page and I'll try to label talking stuff right in future. --Azurem (talk) 18:27, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
No biggie, we all goof up when we start, espeically with this sorta stuff, as it can be pretty confusing. If you're not sure about something, always feel free to ask. =) - Doodleplex 18:36, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
psst Azurem, don't worry. I still make Doodle correct my dialogues and I've been doing this for months. I mean I could learn but Doodle just seems so... excited to make those look right that I can't stop myself.
On a more serious note, yeah the wiki standards are sometimes a bit obscure (and heck documentation is sometimes wrong/outdated) so don't worry about making formatting issues. There are more than enough people that stalk the recent changes to correct mistakes and inform you of what went 'wrong' as in the case here. Don't let the worry of mis-formatting something prevent you from editing. A nice example is how the page I am a wolf used to look like in version 1. -Darqam 18:43, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
Darqam, don't take advantage of Doodle's OCD. Azurem, your name does look better in blue, good call. G R E E N E R 19:01, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
Don't worry Darqam, I'm not worried :P
That's the point of a wiki, just do what you can and other people will do other bits that they can. And even if I make an error like that and nobody notices, something being formatted wrong is definitely better than it not being on the wiki at all. --Azurem (talk) 19:09, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
I've run into at least one or two events that do in fact use quotes on interaction instead of dialogue boxes. I think the dev that constructed them got confused. These happen in the northeast corner of the Strait of Malediction. SarielV 20 x 20px 18:55, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, things can be a tad inconsistent sometimes(I'm still trying to get all the ambient dialogue for that one area in Verdant Brink because it acts like quotes wahhh). If you're not sure, just ask, "What triggered this dialogue? Did I trigger it, did an event trigger it or none of the above" and that's usually the easiest way to figure out what it is. (And Darq, if by "fixed your dialogue" you mean "added in your signature" then yes, yes I do. XD) - Doodleplex 19:07, 10 November 2016 (UTC)

Whoops![edit]

Heh, sorry about that, I read the first part of the sentence, got distracted, and then finished the other part. At least now I know I'm not a robot. —Ventriloquist 18:47, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

That's exactly what a robot which was programmed to occasionally make mistakes so people didn't get suspicious of it would say! -Azurem (talk) 18:48, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
HA—HA. GOOD—JOKE, FELLOW—HUMAN. VERY—TRUE—INDEED. —Ventriloquist 18:59, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Thank you![edit]

Cause I totally got those two backwards, so thanks for switching it for me! - Doodleplex 18:13, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Skritt Shinies...[edit]

Or pictures, can be found here. Have fun! - Doodleplex 19:02, 20 December 2016 (UTC) ..jpg

I like Shinies of course, but I don't remember asking for any. Were you looking for User talk:Kyx? Lost quaggan icon.png -Azurem (talk) 19:18, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
I ...yes. I was just so distracted by the shinies! >_> - Doodleplex 19:20, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
I understand. Who looks where they're going when they could look at shinies instead? -Azurem (talk) 19:23, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
I have a screenshot of Lily Bright(my toon) standing next to the golden chicken staring at it, because shiny chickennnnn! - Doodleplex 19:28, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

I'm impressed[edit]

Particularly with this edit. You managed to rebuild a sentence and use THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF CHARACTERS as the previous sentence. That's some serious black magic shenanigans going on there. -Darqam 14:18, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

Actually it was mesmer magic. I find it more useful for this sort of thing than necromancer's black magic. Also much less messy. -Azurem (talk) 14:52, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
Oh of course, that makes so much more sense. -Darqam 15:12, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

I will forever...[edit]

...typo like a boss. Thank you for fixing that. XD (Can you just like follow my edits all the time to hide my typos and grammar mistakes? You'd be so sparkly and shiny and sparkly and... =3) - Doodleplex 22:12, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

It was a pretty good typo. "Use locations!" *doesn't use locations*
In regards to your request... no way, you've been making like ten billion edits a day recently :P —Azurem 22:55, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
It's not like I want to! I just want to go and hug quaggans but nooOooo cannot haz 'cause so many NPCs are missing location sections or have old bad dialogue formatting(and as a result, missing dialogue). No quaggan time for meee boo-hoo. ;_; - Doodleplex 23:05, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
You should get a quaggan to sit on your lap. You can edit and hug it and it can hug and typo check for you. Effeciency! —Azurem 23:09, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
I like this plan...! - Doodleplex 23:14, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

Phantasm skills[edit]

I think it is impractical to make those skill tables for the skills of which the phantasms use. The notes describing their attack should be sufficient enough. User Foxman525 Image-User Foxman525 sig.png Foxman525 02:13, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

What's impractical about it? It's clearer and more concise than a bunch of notes listing the name, recharge time etc. —Azurem 02:18, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
Well, I think that the notes are actually more precise and concise than the skill table. User Foxman525 Image-User Foxman525 sig.png Foxman525 22:29, 19 January 2017 (UTC)

"Merchandising! Merchandising! Where the real money from the game is made."[edit]

I had no idea this page even existed. An edit every four and a bit years is needed, eh? G R E E N E R 16:52, 31 January 2017 (UTC)

I had no idea it existed either, before it was put on User:Dashface/On_Wiki_of_Gold :P A whole page of broken links to stuff that's not sold any more! There don't seem to be any wiki links to the page, so the only way you'd find it is directly searching for it, and I don't really know why you'd search for merchandise on the wiki tbh. But I guess it's good to document it. —Azurem 17:28, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
Ah, Dashface; I should have looked there first. As a side note, Vent pointed out to me what Alex pointed out to him if you wish to maintain a nice blue for your signature on your talk page. You're now responsible for passing it on to the next person. G R E E N E R 17:43, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
This is my talk page, for everyone to discuss how amazing I am. Of course the wiki should recognise that I'm the most important person here and make my name big and bold!
Er, I mean it doesn't really bother me but thanks for the tip. —Azurem 18:13, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
That's actually the wiki curse, which you've now passed onto the Azurem. The curse is that every 5th edit you make is an edit conflict. —Ventriloquist 22:28, 31 January 2017 (UTC)
