Notes

Keep in mind that your drop rates will vary, when I started this article doing the Tier 2-3 farming I had about 104% MF while I was farming, this includes the buff I get from food. With this I was able to obtain roughly 15-25 drops every 30 minutes.

I'm not Kyau, just verifying something for the small scales. Aim for Skritt Foragers, the others don't seem to drop the scales at all, instead they drop bone shards and bags of trinkets. The trinkets are nice for getting some of the Tier 3 items. I've gotten mostly totems.

Fishes (mainly barracuda, but even yellow named one) drop scales in good quantities.

I am also not Kyau, but I am also just verifying something, though this is about those bats. From what I've experienced so far, bats (not just Fruit Bats) seem to drop similar stuff, just throwing that out there. Also, I personally found it was easier to get Vial of Thin Blood by killing Cave Bats at Lornar's Pass than at Gendarran Fields.

Not Kyau the Third here with a observation. Today (Feb 20, 2015) I went to Holystone Caves to fight Grawl (as suggested) but for me the Spiketail Fish in the lake were WAY more lucrative. 50% of the fish dropped loot and 95% of that loot was Small Scale. The Hyenas dropped Small Fang frequently and the Grawl have me Bone Shard. For perspective, I went to the caves for 20 of each Teir 2 item. I left with 20 of everything and 3 Small Totem after about 2-3 hours. Those Spiketail Fish alone were worth the trip. But your returns will drop if you farm too long. Reload the map every few minutes to keep drop rates up. This may not work for everyone but it worked very well for me.

Not Kyau the fourth. Small fangs seem to drop more often when killing the forest boars in the same area of the wolves.

• NOTE: I am not Kyau. After killing about 16 Ice Wurms I received 8 Venom Sacs(122%Magic find) and 0 Fangs. A much more suitable farming spot for fangs are the Hyenas around Thunderbreak Hills. With my MF I received about 2 fang for every 5-6 killed.
• Note: Claws and Scales are also farmed just west of the Twin Sisters waypoint, found at the southern tip of Blazeridge Steppes, from Salamander Drakes just south of the heart the heart where you lure them into nets. They respawn very quickly and are grouped close together.

Adding on to the first comment, the Ice Wurms do drop fangs but it does seem that the hyenas have a higher drop chance for the fangs.

Note: I am not Kyau. Venom sacs drop readily from the spiders in the cave in Kolkorensburg in Dredgehaunt Cliffs. Spawn rate is relatively fast as well. I found that area to be more sucessful than Bloodtide Coast.

Vials of blood dropped frequently from the cliff bats on Stormbluff Isle by the targets.

Scales are easily farmed from the Tuna in Merchantman's Strait. Drop rate is higher than the Marsh Drakes at Archen Foreland.

• Also not original Kyau content: to verify the statement above, I counted an average 10.5 Sharp Fangs and 11 Sharp Claws dropped per 100 wargs near Naui Waters (n=200). The nearby grawl are farmed without additional effort and give 6 Engraved Totems & 7 Heavy Bones for each 100 kills (and a small chance of bags with random(?) tier 4 materials). However, the Sharp Fangs from Warthogs in the Iron Marches drop 25 in 100 kills (about 2x more often). Personally I found it easier to farm the wargs because they are red and auto-attack you, while the warthogs are somewhat more annoying to fight with due to their knockdown and charge. This makes killing with AoE harder ... My conclusion: when farming Sharp Fangs only, the warthogs near Village of Scalecatch Waypoint in the Iron Marches seem to be the better choice. When you're in need of a variety of tier 4 materials, then I'd recommend the wargs & grawl near Naui Waters in Timberline Falls (Tcilegnar 21:17, 22 November 2018 (UTC))
