As an asura, my ranger has no time for sentimental frivolities such as naming her pets. Instead, her specimens are classified according to a logical taxonomical system for ease of reference.

I've taken inspiration from binomial nomenclature, which takes the form [genus name] [species name]. These names are typically pretentious Latin or ancient Greek, though there's no requirement for them to be perfectly linguistically accurate. However, the full name is expected to conform to Latin grammatical rules, so there's probably gonna be a looooot of mistakes here.

This approach largely reflects the way pets are classified in-game, though I've consolidated a few genera (well, families, as GW2 calls them) that only had a single member species. I've also tried to keep names similar to the scientific classifications of their real-life counterparts, where applicable.
