Walkthrough

• This event staring by talk to Scouring Hawk shortly after Collect and turn in debris from the shore and enemies (80) event.
• Unliked the leviathans in Cantha, this event does not required skiff to remove ₁₀ Thick Skin effect. Instead, simply using crowd control skills to break the Defiance bar.
• Additionally, players can get inhaled by the leviathan. There, they can destroy Attack Spots that are located on the sides and then its uvula, located on the ceiling, to stun the creature and get rid of the  Thick Skin effect, applying  Exposed for 10 seconds in the process.

Scouring Hawk: It is about to strike!

Discerning Owl: It's preparing to attack. Protect yourself!

When the leviathan summons sharks

Discerning Owl: The beast called in reinforcements! Watch yourself.

Scouring Hawk: Sharks in the water! Move with care.

Discerning Owl: More hungry mouths approach. Be on guard.

Scouring Hawk: Sharks! Trying to swam us, they are!

When the defiance bar is broken

One of the following:

Scouring Hawk: Its defenses falter! Strike now!

Discerning Owl: It is weakened! Now is our chance!

Occasionally while the leviathan has stacks of Thick Skin

Scouring Hawk: Damn scales are tough to pierce....[sic] Perhaps... Hmmm... Maybe a more direct method of attack is needed.

When the leviathan reaches 25% health

One of the following:

Discerning Owl: Can fish feel regret? This one may.

Scouring Hawk: It thrashes in desperation. We nearly have it.

Unknown conditions

One of the following:

Discerning Owl: A voracious one, this fish. We can use that.

Upon success

Discerning Owl: How many lives were claimed by this beast, I wonder? Charting the unknown, not unlike us.

Discerning Owl: Haplessly swallowed whole while exploring this island.

Scouring Hawk: May they finally be avenged. We owe it to them to finish our work.

Notes

Bugs:

• The dialogue for when the leviathan reaches low health or has Thick Skin can also appear when the pre-event finishes.
• The leviathan may spawn and stay outside the map boundaries, stalling the event. This seems to happen if the event is started immediately after the pre-event finishes.
• The leviathan may spawn untargetable in its death model, stalling the event. It will still float around the area, and knockback players entering the hitbox, as if alive.
• After the meta countdown starts, the event will not start, despite Scouring Hawk being in position and showing an event indicator.
• Killing the Leviathan too quickly will stall future spawns in that instance.

• 

  Scouring Hawk following the leviathan corpse off the map.

• 

  Scouring Hawk being unreachable after following the leviathan corpse off the map.

• It's safe to kill when Scouring Hawk loses the event indicator over their head.
• If the leviathan is killed before Scouring Hawk reaches the event, the NPC will follow the corpse off the map instead of teleporting back.
• If Scouring Hawk does not despawn after the event, the instance is bugged.
• The NPCs will reset after the meta event, fixing the instance.
• If the event previously bugged, the NPCs will re-appear at the spawn of the pre-event after the meta event, and the Leviathan can be started without completing the pre-event.
  • There won't be an event indicator on Scouring Hawk. Talk to the NPC to see if the dialogue needed to start is shown.
