Fend off the leviathan are two level 80 group events that occur at the bottom part of Seitung Harbor in Seitung Province, and the northern area of Kaineng Docks in New Kaineng City.

This event is started by talking to Fahd al'Eshadhi who appears when enough fish^{[verification requested]} have been fished out of either Seitung Province or New Kaineng City; open water and fishing nodes anywhere on the map work. The appearance of Fahd al'Eshadhi is indicated onscreen with the following message: "Beware! Something dangerous has been drawn to this area due to overfishing."

Note: Completing the event more than twice in a row on the same map won't yield the bonus chest which contains the following rewards. Swapping back and forth between Seitung Province and New Kaineng City is strongly recommended when farming this event.

Walkthrough

• The leviathan has 8 stacks of  Thick Skin effect, which reduces incoming damage by 10% per stack. The stacks will regenerate by doubling (up to a max of 8 stacks) every 10 seconds. To get rid of this effect players can use Depth Charges skill on their skiff. Once all stacks have been removed, they will only regenerate after an extended period of time^{[verification requested]}. Alternatively, players can get inhaled by the leviathan. There, they can destroy Attack Spots that are located on the sides and then its uvula, located on the ceiling, to stun the creature and get rid of the effect, applying  Exposed in the process.
• In Seitung Province, it is possible to stand on the adolescent leviathan's head to use terrestrial combat skills. In New Kaineng City, it is possible to avoid getting ingested by staying high up on the forehead spikes and avoiding being directly in front of the snout.

Note: There are 3 different conditions (beyond the fishing requirements) that can prevent Fahd al'Eshadhi from spawning until they are satisfied.

• After the leviathan is successfully slain, there is a 30 minute cooldown timer in that instance until another leviathan can be spawned. Enough fishing must still be completed.
• The event New Kaineng Fishing Tournament (Yu) at Kaineng Docks will prevent Fahd al'Eshadhi from spawning; however, if Fahd al'Eshadhi is already present when the event starts, the leviathan may still be spawned during the tournament.
• The Kaineng Blackout meta event will prevent Fahd al'Eshadhi from spawning; however, if Fahd al'Eshadhi is already present when the event chains start, the leviathan may still be spawned during the meta.

Fahd al'Eshadhi: Stay vigilant for naga. They may interfere, since they worship leviathans as deities.

Fahd al'Eshadhi: So, they're one of the few creatures leviathans won't eat. Though I suspect the true reason is because naga taste awful.

During combat

Fahd al'Eshadhi: Its scales are too strong to pierce with weapons. You'll have to find a more direct way to attack its vitals.

Fahd al'Eshadhi: Watch yourself near it! It's strong and unpredictable—a fatal combination!

Fahd al'Eshadhi: It seems to be consuming everything in its sight. Could we use its hunger to our advantage?
