A Friend in Need[edit]

I look at these creatures, and I think of my home in the Grove. What would I be willing to do if something threatened it?

— Magister Sieran

The storyline splits into five different sections - each one dealing with the minor races. The shared storyline continues in the On Red Alert story.

Helping the grawl[edit]

The player meets Sieran in Graupel Kohn, in Dredgehaunt Cliffs. They find out that a local norn, Bergtrolde Icetreader, kicked out an injured grawl from her homestead, leaving the wounded creature out in the snow. Sieran, annoyed by the norn's inhospitality, decides to follow the blood tracks, that eventually lead her and the player to Gara, the injured grawl. After dealing with several wild animals, Gara admits that his people have started to worship a dragon minion.

Afterwards, Gara tries to reason with his people, but to no avail. Sieran again gives the player a choice, either bring back proof from the false god's cave or help Gara convince the people directly. Regardless of the choice made, the players will meet Gara in his village, who holds a speech, but is quickly interrupted by the Sons of Svanir. Despite the heroes' best efforts, the majority of the village is destroyed, which motivates Gara in joining the Priory against the threat that is the Elder Dragons.

Hylek trouble[edit]

Sieran is investigating the hylek near Archen Foreland, for potential allies, accompanied by the player character. After her introduction to the hylek tribe, the group sets out find Ikniu's lost brother; despite Sieran's warning, Ikniu foolishly enters the holy grounds alone and finds out that his brother has been corrupted. The group severs the undead hylek's head, and presents it to the tribe as an act of peace. Unfortunately, it seems that the hylek priestess is missing from the village, to which Ikniu suggests two options: either confront the priestess or win a hylek tournament in order to gain the hylek's favor. Despite the choice the player made, Sieran and the rest of the group will meet up back at the village.

Once they've arrived, undead suddenly appear, striking the frontlines of the village's defense, and destroying everything in their path. Unfortunately, the hylek homes, breeding grounds and the majority of the village's population has been decimated. Enraged by this, Ikniu agrees to join the battle against the dragons, for his brother and his village.

Standing with the ogres[edit]

The ogres near Agrak Kraal have come to the ogres' aid against the Branded that have been terrorizing their chief and village. The group continues further into Blazeridge Steppes in their search for the missing ogre chieftain Uldek. Following a trail of corpses left by the branded, Sieran and the player find Jonkor, an ogre that has been attacked by the chieftain, who has been corrupted by the branded. Jonkor offers the group a choice: either help them tame new pets or gather more supplies to build fortifications.

Regardless of the choice, the group meets up back at the village where the newly-appointed chief Lagula has ordered the ogres to abandon their village, fearing its destruction by the hands of the corrupted Uldek. Shortly after, Uldek and his corrupted minions attack the village - and are quickly defeated, but at a great loss - the village has been destroyed, leaving the ogres helpless. However, Lagula offers her assistance in the battle against the Elder Dragons, as a form of repayment for the assistance the Priory offered against the Branded.

Assisting quaggans[edit]

Quaggans of the Falooaloo village have reported that several quaggan gatherers went missing, and require the Priory's help to find out what exactly is happening. Sieran is delighted by the idea of helping quaggans, as she considers them a polite race who have seen things in the depths that no other race has. Shashoo informs the group that Icebrood creatures forced the quaggans to migrate, leading them to the current location in Timberline Falls. After dealing with several corrupted quaggans near the village, Shashoo offers the group a choice of either bolstering the village's defenses, or recruiting their best—and only—fighter Baroosh as a means of fighting back.

Despite the choice the player made, Sieran and the rest of the group will meet up back at the village. The group is tasked with escorting several baby quaggans to safety, all while defeating the constantly-attacking Icebrood. Afterwards, the village is destroyed as all of its inhabitants are safely escorted to Lion's Arch. Sieran and the player eventually manages to convince Shashoo into joining the fight against the dragons, gaining a powerful ally.

Skritt's struggle[edit]

The group meets up at The Feral Dens, a skritt village located in Harathi Hinterlands. Ftokchak informs Sieran and the player that a skritt gatherer - Tchkik - has found several peculiar items deep inside the cave. Those items turn out to be Destroyer eggs, that quickly start spawning Destroyer Crablings. Once they have been dealt with, Ftokchak offers the players a choice of either saving the lost skritt or stealing explosives from the centaurs in order to destroy the Devourer Queen.

Regardless of the choice, the group meets up back at the village that is now being geared with explosives. Once the Devourer Queen has spawned, the group manages to destroy her and all of her eggs - but in doing so, they also collapse the entire tunnel system, leaving the skritt village in ruins. Saddened by this, Ftokchak offers his help to the Priory against the threat that is the Elder Dragons.
