“I'm Roan Mortbane. Though trouble may follow me, I overcome it with ferocity. I'm a soldier in the Blood Legion, and my warband is my family. I would die for them, especially Reeva, my sparring partner. They tell me my sire is a loyal soldier. I plan to live up to his reputation, whatever it takes. I'm a warrior, and I wear no helm on the battlefield. Because of this, my enemies falter when they see the fearless determination in my eyes. This is my story.

Roan Mortbane is named for the first charr Mortbane. Toward the end of the first game, my main character Grim discovered an orphan charr cub and took it upon himself to raise the little one. He named the cub Roan after a charr comrade. Little Roan grew up around humans, and when he grew, he joined a warband of charr from similar backgrounds. It is believed that the Bane warband actually contains descendants of the same line.
This generation's Roan Mortbane is a charr's charr. His intimidating demeanor is meant to clear up any doubt as to whether or not his human cultural heritage makes him weak. He does, however, have a soft side. He carries with him always a drawing given to him by a refugee child.
