Poster in LA[edit]

I can't read it very well without first person, but it seems to be written in Pirate lingo. I can only read “AVAST! AHOY ALL YE LANDLUBBERS!”, then lots of blurry letters I can’t see without first person, and then “ARR YOU READY?”. If anyone can take out the texture or do some camera trickery to get it closer and readable, it'll be nice if we noted what it says. There's no need to translate it, as it's in English, transcribing the New Krytan to Latin characters is enough to make it readable by anyone who can read English. Check the link in the section Poster in LA. All posters known to this day are all transcribed there. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 14:36, 6 November 2012 (UTC)

Permanent Area?[edit]

I know it says it's an event, but I wonder if they will let us keep the area for lvl 80's to have something to do. I want to have more lvl 80 areas, truth be told I want more areas perioed. Who else wants a new lvl 80 area? <---Neji was here---<<< 15:12, 5 November 2012 (UTC)

The island and dungeon will remain afterwards. The only temporary part we've been told about is the weekend-long event. I don't know about the island itself, but the dungeon is specifically designed to be for high-level characters. Vahkris 16:48, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
Would be nice if we get to keep the island. This way Risen aren't the main sorce of lvl 80 stuff to kill. <---Neji was here---<<< 23:11, 5 November 2012 (UTC)
We get to keep the island, I just don't know if the island itself will be level 80. Vahkris 05:07, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
So, where will this island be? How do we access it once it is out? Paladinofmm 06:00, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
One of the posters mentions an Asura gate, and I believe there's a new one in Lion's Arch (I haven't been on this week to check). Since everyone will be raised to level 80 for the introductory event, I guess that's how we'll get there. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that at the end of the event the gate will be destroyed/removed and you'll have to access the area through either walking or waypoints, especially since the level bump will end after the event. -- LordEhzed 14:41, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
The Asura Gate in question is to the east of the Claw Island Portage Waypoint, and south of the Moorookoo Village Point of Interest. -- MS 14:48, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Bubbles?[edit]

Just something I felt immediately when I read "Sea of Sorrows" and "Change the face of Tyria" Anyone else get the same sinking feeling?

I reckon you right on the money! There's two books open on a table inside a tent that has appeared on the beach in LA next to the beached whale. The books are open at two pictures, one of a dragon and one of an angle like creature but after looking at it a few times now, I actually reckon its a Largos. The Largos, were displaced by some unspeakable horror from the depths and it would make sense that it's Bubbles. User Tytan Crow Crow.jpg Titan Crow 09:00, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
Yeah i have to say that we may not be able to physically encounter Bubbles. Lion's Arch seems to be too shallow to encounter the Elder Dragon. However, I wouldn't be surprised if one of his champions were to make a stop by Lion's Arch.Huntsman4713 09:50, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
I thought of DSD too... but after some of the new info I began to think that the new enemies are based on the Kracken / Leviathans. Its possible that Bubbles Champ is the ancient karka. It would make total sense.A Liability 00:25, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

The Lost Shores and the Guild Wars 2 Wiki[edit]

Hi everyone,

I posted this message that is relevant to whoever will be updating this page. Feel free to let us know your questions or comments here or on my talkpage.

Thanks for your work!--Stephane Lo Presti talk 21:43, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

Exciting! Looking forward to helping out. --Naptown14 22:22, 7 November 2012 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I noticed that one instance of the "one time only event" was highlighted in bold. What do people think about highlighting all of them? And I'm even tempted to ask if there's a way to make that a bit more visible in the page as this aspect is something quite important (I mean the fact that it'll only happen once and then it's gone). What do editors think? --Stephane Lo Presti talk 17:20, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

I don't see a problem with highlighting/bolding all of the instances where we mention it's one-time only, that's pretty easy to do and I don't think it will cause a problem (IMO), so I can go through and do that if there's no concerns. I moved the event schedule up top so it's more prominent, as being below all of the prelude info made it kinda hidden considering how important that info is. As far as making it even more visible, I may have to defer to more experienced editors for the most part as I'm not 100% sure on what fits with whatever style we're going for (if any). Part of me wants to have it colored and flashing, but that's probably a bit gaudy. :) However, we can pull out the specific information regarding the event at the top so it's bolded and separate, and even add more information on the event schedule section (even renaming the section to One-Time Weekend Event Schedule). Any other thoughts? Vahkris 17:40, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
Treat the bolding like links: once per section/major area --JonTheMon 17:59, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
I like your ideas Vahkris, including renaming the section header. I will probably have to agree that colored and flashing text would be a little over-the-top, but a CSS style could be added inline to make that text look something like this: onetime event. --Naptown14 18:19, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
Something like that would be okay the first time only, subsequently it should only be bold. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 18:25, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
Agreed. --Naptown14 18:32, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
While I believe in the importance of properly documenting events both before and after their occurrence, I think we should make sure not to take a step towards what is essentially advertising. The fact that the event will be one-time only will be acknowledged with or without outstanding (and not necessarily in a good way) giant red boxes completely taking away from the article. Wikis benefit immensely from being at least partially objective, and despite the fact that it is in our best interests to support ArenaNet's interest, I don't feel like we should do so at the cost of making this page look like an ad. -- MS 05:16, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
I've been thinking about this for a couple days, and I think you have a valid point. I was about to propose that we just have one highlighted box for the "onetime event" until the event is over, but if we do that it means it will be an advertisement. It's probably best to leave the text as-is. At least the text is bold (which is perfectly appropriate for the wiki), so we are still emphasizing it without compromising the integrity of the data. --Naptown14 User Naptown14 Panda-icon.png Talk 14:07, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
The main page of the GW1 wiki has a section on "Latest in-game activities" which has the daily quests, etc., and also the upcoming weekend events and such. Perhaps we could put something on the main page to draw people's attention to the limited time events under the "News & updates" section. I know that there's already the link to Lost Shores under the dated news, but people might not follow that as closely. It seems like these special events are going to be a regular occurrance. -- LordEhzed 14:48, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
If the releases follow this monthly theme as they have been (and seem to be until at least December), then I see no reason not to. -- MS 14:53, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
What's wrong with advertising? We are the official GW2 wiki, after all. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 14:59, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
As I mentioned earlier, it is within our interest to support ArenaNet's interests, but not at the cost of becoming filled with advertisements. If we start with large red boxes, where exactly do we stop? Links on the Main Page to websites to buy the game? Images saying to buy gems in the margins? This is a silly path that I see no good reason to start marching along. The fact that this event is one-time only is made clear on the page, overdoing it is unnecessary. -- MS 15:05, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
No, we shouldn't advertise for players to buy gems, that's just silly. But advertising events with the intent of making as many players aware of them as possible should be an integral part of what we do here. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:13, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Which is exactly what is being done on this page now. Surrounding the notices with red boxes does nothing for anyone. People who would skim over the text to look for highlighted bits of important news would find both the bolded text and the box-surrounded text with the same effectiveness. The only way I can see to improve the number of people that would notice the event would be to add notes to the margin, and pop-up ads that interrupt your browsing to be informed that this one-time event is happening soon. Like I said, at what point does all of this stop? If we make the notices on this page more noticeable for the sake of our integral duty of informing the player, how long until we move off of this page? It is already suggested that we make notices on the main page, which probably seems reasonable to many people, myself included. And from then how long until we fill other pages with this information unnecessarily? And then begin interrupting users trying to use the wiki for other things? This is a steep slope that seems unrealistic from the top, yet after each stop, all that remains is that next step, and that next step. Standardized wiki formatting helps to prevent this, but if we forgo it, how long until it is ignored entirely? Right now we have emphasized the one-time event while staying within standard wiki formatting. I see no good reason to move past it. -- MS 15:25, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
I think you're being a touch paranoid. A static box on the main page or in the sitenotice is one thing (and was used frequently on GW1W), pop ups are something else. We will never do pop ups or anything similar that would disrupt normal wiki usage. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:29, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
I'll admit I'm guilty of a bit of paranoia, but of course I have to be when trying to connect the present to a worst-case scenario. As I said earlier, I'm fine with the notice on the main page too. Just beware of repeatedly making exceptions for things, it leads to incredibly bad practices. The red boxes still seem unnecessary, as does flashing text and anything else that goes beyond standard wiki formatting. -- MS 15:36, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
The flashing text was a joke and was not intended to be taken seriously, if you couldn't tell from my wording or the smiley afterwards. I don't know if highlighting it in red boxes is best, but I also contest that doing so is unnecessary "advertising". A large part of advertising is "creating awareness", after all, and making it extremely clear to those who view the site and this page aware that there's a temporary, time-sensitive event happening in-game is a very important task for the wiki to inform players about as best it can, IMO. That being said, I really don't think boxing it in red is best. What I want to do is pull out the temporary event information from the top paragraph into a second line immediately below it, and bold that, which hopefully will make it into the "Featured article" section on the main page once that switches over. If that's not readily noticeable, we can, on the Featured Article snippet, look to make that much more obvious (highlighting, coloring, or whatever we can do within the formatting guidelines). Plus we can see about having the site notice as Dr. Ishmael suggested (I've seen it done before, and does indeed draw players' eyes to it...plus they can just dismiss it and it's no more if it bothers them). No pop-ups, no advertising for sales or anything like that. In the meantime, I'm going to start making the changes I suggested above for the weekend event schedule section, plus add info they released today...with no colors involved. Vahkris 16:02, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I thought that it'd help everyone if we made our intentions clear: we're going to link to this article so we want to make sure that players see the correct information in the "best way" possible as early as possible. The reason why I'm here today and this week is to accelerate the populating and organization of this page. This populating and organization would happen without our help, but since we're going to send a lot of players to this page, we thought that it'd be in everyone's interest (including the wiki which gets information sort of "faster", although I'll be honest that it's already going very fast!). We will not be asking the community to break any of its standard. In fact all I'll be giving here are information and suggestion, the rest is entirely up to the wiki community. Thanks. --Stephane Lo Presti talk 17:44, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

new pets?[edit]

Just wondering, if there is going to be a new explorable area and content, does that mean that there may be more aquatic pets available? I'm only asking since there are only about five aquatic pets while there are about three times as many amphibious and terrestrial pets and i personally think there should be more aquatic pets available.

New tier of armor[edit]

Rumored to be "ascended", which stands higher level to "exotic". --110.174.164.26 16:53, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Taking preventive action here and redirecting all discussion about this to the official forums' thread about it. Please do not discuss here except that it concerns how the wiki will document this new content (i.e. NO WHINING). —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 17:11, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
So far all we have on the ascended items is an entry saying they're present and they can have a new upgrade type "infusion". Until we get more information I don't believe we can actually put anything more about it. Vahkris 17:56, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Massively's article stated that ascended is "slightly more powerful than exotic". That's where the whining is coming from, the fear that this is introducing power creep/gear treadmill/etc. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 18:41, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Structure of the page[edit]

Hi everyone,

I discussed in a previous entry on this talkpage the idea of seeding information to the wiki community. The seeding already started since the mmorpg.com article is already live and people are dissecting it to populate the page, which is brilliant.

I wanted to start a discussion here about the structure of the article. First, having 2 sections "One-Time Weekend Event" and "Weekend Event" is probably worse than having one "Weekend Event" section and then having "One-Time Event" as a subsection. What do people think?

Secondly, it could be interesting to have a clear separation between the content related to the "event" and the rest (PvP map, PvE dungeon, etc.).

Of course (and in particular as some people suggested in the discussion above that the wiki should keep to its standards and not be advertising for us, ArenaNet), these are merely suggestions, but I wanted to kickstart a process that's going to start anyway.

Let me know what you think. Thanks. --Stephane Lo Presti talk 17:44, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

FYI, the two weekend event sections are due to overlapping edits, I'm merging them now. Vahkris 17:48, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Awesome, thanks Vahkris! --Stephane Lo Presti talk 19:47, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

A suggestion: as this page is accessed by quite a few people, would it make sense to make the link to the phase-specific subpages more promiment/visible/clear? This page could appear empty (at least to the wiki layman) until you realize that the schedule's "phase x" is a link. Again and as I said before, this is only a suggestion. --Stephane Lo Presti talk 20:09, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

New information[edit]

Hi,

I'm starting this topic in the talkpage to seed the wiki community with information about the Lost Shores event.

First of all, we just released an updated version of the event webpage on our website: https://www.guildwars2.com/en-gb/the-game/releases/november-2012/

You'll probably notice that there's a link to the Lost Shores wiki article (Lost Shores event guide)! Let me know if you have comments or questions. I'll update this thread with information later this week. Thanks. --Stephane Lo Presti talk 17:44, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

We've made most of the pages relevant to the new information. Of course they'll need expansion as we gather more info and learn new things, but right now they're good placeholders. My only issue is with the Ascended and Infusion pages. Currently, individual item rarity pages all redirect to the aforementioned page, so a decision about whether or not to include and solely include Ascended in that page needs to be made. Infusion acts as an upgrade slot, but of course we'd need to mention the ascended items that are the only ones to have this slot. Simply having someone make the placeholder and expanding upon it wouldn't work here. I believe we need consensus before we continue. -- MS 18:55, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
I think it's best to expand upon existing content. No need to make new pages if we already have something in place (like item rarity). --Naptown14 User Naptown14 Panda-icon.png Talk 19:10, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
We have legendary weapon, which is a specific rarity level. Since ascended may be the armor equivalent of legendary, this looks like a perfectly acceptable precedent.
Oh hey, that's a great direct question for you, Stephane - what color will the ascended gear use? The same as legendary? —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:16, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
I always thought the legendary weapon page was because that was a specific set of weapons denoted by the fact they're Legendary item rarity, have very unique looks, and a complicated method of achieving them. I do not mind though, at least in the short term until we get more information from the blog post, if "ascended" stuff goes to the item rarity page (just update the links for "ascended" to point to Item Rarity for now). If they are indeed intended to be an armor equivalent to legendary (doubt it, but who knows) and unique enough to have its own page we can create it then and update the links. Vahkris 19:28, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
We have a blogpost coming soon about the Ascended items, I think it'll give you all the information that you need for these pages. --Stephane Lo Presti talk 19:46, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
We'll need a new page for Ascended weapons and equipment if not Ascended itself. It looks to be a new type of equipment that only drops from dungeons and can only be upgraded through the "Infusion" system (kind of like Runescape's dungeoneering). I have taken the liberty of using red in {{rarity}} as its very likely :P--Relyk 23:13, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
User Naptown14 Ascended example.png
It looks like the color is actually a lighter fuschia/pink-ish color. This text is #E83681 bold. I snagged the color from the blog article (https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/linsey-murdock-unveils-new-high-end-ascended-gear/). --Naptown14 User Naptown14 Panda-icon.png Talk 14:11, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
Also, I'm learning towards yes that the Ascended page is needed, especially since there will only be a few Ascended items available and we'll want to highlight those, and we'll want to mention Infusions and detailed information about the Ascended rarity type. There will also be recipes and other things we'll want to include that can warrant a full page of information. I'm still not sure if the new Infusion upgrade component type needs it own page because we can add it to Upgrade component. Not only will we highlight the types of Infusions (Offensive, Defensive, and Omni Infusions) but there will be Mystic Forge recipes to create them. Is that enough info for a full page? What do you think? --Naptown14 User Naptown14 Panda-icon.png Talk 15:00, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
I'd agree that we could just add to the Upgrade Component page and be done with that...except that Runes, Sigils, Jewels, and Gemstones all have their own pages in addition to their entry on the Upgrade Component page (not only that, the misc flat bonus ones also have their own page, such as Mark, Talisman, Crest, etc), so a separate page for Infusions wouldn't be out of place. It'll get a spot on the Upgrade Component page anyway, though. Vahkris 15:12, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks Vahkris, I forgot about those other component pages. Sounds good! --Naptown14 User Naptown14 Panda-icon.png Talk 15:59, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
Of course we need separate articles for Ascended items and Infusions, why would we not? These are very distinct items with unique characteristics and acquisition methods. Grouping them into other articles would be silly. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:19, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
For your information, the color code for the Ascended gear is "fb3e8d". --Stephane Lo Presti talk 19:56, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

New information: Wednesday November 14 (PST)[edit]

Hi everyone. I'm very happy to bring to you some pieces of information (we don't want to give everything as surprise and discovery is part of the fun!) about the upcoming content of The Lost Shores. Hopefully this will help you make decisions about how to best structure this page:

  • Tomorrow there will be a few bits of “teasing” content in-game
  • The Lost Shore event (starting on Friday) will have new dynamic events, some that will only be available during the weekend. Each phase of the event will be associated with a set of dynamic events and these events will generally not be available during the next phase. Here is a bit more details about the 3 phases of the event:
    • Phase 1: The epic attack at the beginning of the event will be in Lion's Arch. It will change the map forever and opens up the Fractals dungeon.
    • Phase 2: Players will have to push back the Karkas from Kryta and go to the Southsun Cove, the Karka's lair (and new map), following a chain of dynamic events.
    • Phase 3: This is the final chain of events leading to the last battle against the Karkas.
  • The island (Southsun Cove map) will remain accessible after the event.

Let me know if you have questions (although I can't promise I'll reply). P.S.: I'll try to track down the color code for the Ascended gear if I can ^^ --Stephane Lo Presti talk 00:49, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

The correct color code for Ascended gear is of highest priority.--Relyk 01:24, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
The "teasing", since it sounds like it may be similar to the previous teasing of the signs and whales, could likely go into the Prelude section, and obviously would be the last part of that section since the actual event begins the next day. For the rest, perhaps we could add a Phase 1/2/3 section like the Halloween content, starting with Phase 1 on this page and moving it off to its own subpage once Phase 2 begins (which would then get its own section, and repeat)? ...while hopefully not confusing players with the schedule sections of the same name? Thoughts? Vahkris 06:07, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
For your information, the color code for the Ascended gear is "fb3e8d". --Stephane Lo Presti talk 19:57, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

New information: Wednesday November 15 (PST)[edit]

I'll have a little bit more information to share with you at the end of today. --Stephane Lo Presti talk 18:05, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

A few more to pick through for info:
Just a few I found. Vahkris 18:48, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

I forgot to mention today's patchnote when they went live (but I think it was caught by people): https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Game-Update-Notes-November-15-2012/

Now I've got a bit more interesting information for this page, which I hope is going to help the wiki community build this page:

  • The Karka have 4 evolutions (creatures)
  • New recipes for crafting professions (200 recipes) and the Mystic Forge
  • 3 new crafting materials, one new node and a new trophy item
  • New achievements
  • 2 jumping puzzles
  • Around 30 new dynamic events overall
  • 10 new important NPCs, part of the story

Hope this helps! --Stephane Lo Presti talk 01:01, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Stephane, does that 30 dynamic events number include the events that will go away once the weekend is over? Vahkris 14:44, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes it does. --Stephane Lo Presti talk 17:42, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Press articles[edit]

So here are the English European press outlets that published articles about the Lost Shores today: God is a Geek, What Culture, Edge. This one is already online: http://www.pcgamesn.com/guildwars/guild-wars-2-lost-shores-update-detailed-weekend-s-event-will-change-tyria-forever And you already know about the mmorpg.com and massively articles. I also want to mention that the "Free trial with a friend referral program" will be available during the weekend (it should be "via friend-referral program"), but it's side-content so I don't want to step on anyone's toes. --Stephane Lo Presti talk 00:58, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

Fractals Info[edit]

Here's the new blog post link: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/leah-rivera-on-the-new-fractals-of-the-mist-dungeon/ I added information to the specific section about the fact you access from Lion's Arch, the hub name, and a brief note about scaling, but I think the rest needs to go on the Fractals of the Mists page. Event End Times[edit]

We have the precise start time for each event, but for those of us who may not make it to the kickoff of an event but would like to ensure we at least arrive in time for the latter portion of it, is there any information on how long these events will last? So far the closest I've seen is the Sunday event being "multi-hour", which is terribly nonspecific. 96.39.113.84 04:37, 15 November 2012 (UTC)

I wouldn't quote me, but I believe it's been said multiple times that people that aren't in time for the initial events will not be able to join the one-time event chain at all. If I'm incorrect, I still believe it would be impossible for them to tell you what time they end, because the end time would depend on how fast players complete the objectives. -- MS 04:43, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
Did they say there will be a one-time event chain? Isn't it more likely that it will be like Halloween, with a 30 second cutscene that appears only once? Then, as with the Labyrinth, there could be a special instance to defend LA, which people can enter at any time during the 24 hours. This is also speculation, but it's comparable to what we have seen so far. 75.37.18.122 08:03, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
Yes, there will be a one-time event chain starting at noon PST on Sunday. However, I don't understand how they could prevent anyone from joining after it starts - it's going to be a standard world event like any other, in an open zone, so anyone can run up at any time and join in. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:25, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
The phases will not be accessible after they end. The first phase ends after the game update for the second phase, second phase ends after the game update for the third phase.--Relyk 18:56, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
Why is Anet doing one-time events? They have to realize this pisses people off. Why not run it either once for anyone who logs in for the first time or every hour or something..they could even make it if you have done it once you can't get in again..if that is the problem.Cinnamongod 22:10, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Server Capacitance Issues[edit]

I've been disconnected from 3 overflow servers trying to do this one time event, skills are activating several minutes after I click them, I rubber band all over the place, my guild messages appear out of order and often minutes after I type them, and due to the stupid overflow system, I couldn't even experience this pain with my guildies and IRL mates. I feel like Anet just sidled up to me in the street and donated me the entire contents of their collective stomachs.

The Blue Box[edit]

Where are we documenting the blue box? Should we consider it a meta event? Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 20:53, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

It's a "Special Event" event box. I'd call it a server event. It's definitely not a meta event.--Relyk 20:56, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
It's a meta event for meta events, I have it at Lost Shores (special event).--Relyk 23:24, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

Will someone please post a walkthru?[edit]

This is so annoying and frustrating. The NPC are unresponsive. Their gibberish makes no sense. I run around on the beach and try to interact with stuff, but nothing happens. WTF am I supposed to do? Gawd, I hate how hard this game is.Wraitheria 01:51, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Might help to read the page: The Lost Shores/Phase 1--Relyk 01:53, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Where's the camp?[edit]

For those who missed the Phase 2 event, there is no guidance on how to reach Camp Karka (where I suspect Phase 3 will center on). Can someone note the general location within Southsun Cove? Hold Me Closer, Necromancer 03:11, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

The Lost Shores/Phase 2, The Lost Shores (meta event), and Southsun Cove#Locations wasn't enough?...--Relyk 03:19, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Where do any of those state the location of the camp in Southsun Cove? Hold Me Closer, Necromancer 03:50, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I ran around and figured out how to get there. Added directions to the phase 2 section. Hold Me Closer, Necromancer 06:46, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

'Multi-hour'[edit]

Join in on the epic multi-hour one-time event. I read this so I thought I'll continue map exploration until I'm done this map before trying the event, now I'm being told it's only happening ONCE? This really needs rewording -_- The way it was written made me think it was like the finales of the halloween and wintersday and other events which happen every few hours .. Hope the reward isn't good --86.28.147.193 21:36, 18 November 2012 (UTC)

Well, it's a big meta event with multiple events in it. You can join in any time, but the individual events won't repeat once they are finished. poke | talk 21:39, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
As far as I know, we all got two random rare and two random exotic weapons/armors, plus a 20-space bag and a unique exotic earring. Hope you're not too disgusted ;) 23.54 18th November 2012. ~Kaspar
The game crashed for me with about 1 minute to go, after spending 2 hours and 45 minutes working on the event. If they repeat anything like this, I won't be bothering.... 76.182.6.118 22:56, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Died just before the end, got back to find the chest had gone :-( 82.17.103.11 23:20, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
I was playing with a friend and their game crashes right at the end. After rebooting they couldnt get back in the same server. The server they ended up on had already finished their event. When they could get back on the server by they time they ran to me the chest disappeared and they got nothing!Cinnamongod 23:22, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Maybe we should put this announcement somewhere on the page: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Disconnect-at-the-end-of-Lost-Shores-Event-Read-this I didn't get to be part of it at all due to RL obligations, so lucky you. :) Vahkris 01:18, 19 November 2012 (UTC)

Junk trophies[edit]

So are all those trophy items we got from scavenger hunts useless and can be deleted now? I couldn't find any definitive answers from the forums. I wonder why they didn't just code those NPCs to take the items the way some heart NPCs do instead of leaving people wondering whether we can delete them. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 15:48, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

I'd like an answer to this too. --Combatter 16:24, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
I deleted mine. Imagine the backlash of thousands of people if ANet suddenly says that these items, which not everyone could obtain in the first place, are usable for something else. Nothing in Phase 1 helped anyone for Phase 2, why would those items become important now that the event is over?
Given the number of quest-stopping bugs in both Phase 1 quests, it's probably just as well that the items didn't auto-delete. On the other hand, it's strange that the two quests handled this differently: the Miyani-items were removed, but the Levvi-items were not. 75.36.180.174 17:35, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

What this is missing...[edit]

A guide on how to actually get there if you didnt take park in the event due to RL issues. --86.26.108.213 19:19, 11 December 2012 (UTC)
