I shall call him Archie[edit]

I know I didn't need one, but I've always wanted an archive ^_^ — snogratUser Snograt signature.png 14:45, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

:D you're no longer rubbish at names. (personally I liked "Snograuniad" too, just because I expect Americans won't get it) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:58, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
Heh, yes - a Hislopism. Kedric Trolltwatter will live on forever in my heart and, indeed, in the bars of Kamadan where he lives to this day. — snogratUser Snograt signature.png 00:01, 6 May 2014 (UTC)

Those Who Do Not Remember History Are Condemned to ... Make it Up?[edit]

[I]n the absence of lore, some people make lore happen.

— Snograt

That's among my favorite quotes now: captured exactly what happens. Well done. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:34, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

Glad to be of service, TEF ;) — snogratUser Snograt signature.png 18:41, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

bought a pre (not prius)[edit]

I still feel that if you start a legendary today, and can afford to buy the precursor directly, it's cheaper to just buy the whole thing rather than craft it...like Sunrise, for example, those Charged Lodestones already add like 300g to the total cost.

Definitely feels "wrong" to "buy a legendary" though. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 20:46, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

Exactly my feeling - it felt wrong to buy the pre, but buying the whole thing would've been a lot wronger. Now I just need to get those WvW ranks and wander into the Crucible of Eternity for the first time. Without looking it up, I don't even know where that is!
Oh, and do you want to hear something really stupid? Those Onyx Lodestones - I bought 250 by mistake instead of 100. Ah well, they can always go back the same way I suppose. — snogratUser Snograt signature.png 21:05, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
CoE is located in Mount Maelstrom. I suggest doing p3 for first timers; p1 has a part that requires some moderate coordination or it quickly gets out of control, and p2 has a newbie-unfriendly boss that can literally drag on for half an hour if people are not very skilled. (It actually goes faster if people who don't know what they're doing stay out of the room entirely, but good luck getting pugs to do that.) p3 equivalent part has a boss that doesn't regenerate health at all, so even if you wipe it doesn't matter; it's impossible to fail.
Helpful hint: you can turn Onyx Lodestones into Superior Sigil of Strength for profit. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 21:07, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for that - oh yes, the annoying square bit I ignore when I'm zerging the megadestroyer. I remember mapping it and getting a skill point. Hmm, usual fun of getting a mob together for story mode first, I guess - you do need to complete the story in these things first, right?
You only need to complete a story mode if you personally want to open the explorable mode for others. I like this because I'm a bit paranoid about getting kicked out of dungeons too early (e.g. everyone leaves before I can get end chest), but it's not necessary. Story mode CoE is balls anyway - both the ordinary mobs and the final boss have (essentially) instant kill attacks. It's not much fun. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 17:25, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

meh[edit]

time to repatriate to holland I think. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 21:35, 19 June 2014 (UTC)

The ref in that match was complete rubbish. Uruguay should've been down to 10 men for most of it. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 21:40, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
Yep, an elbow to the throat should not be an allowable defensive tactic. Worst thing is, England aren't actually playing that bad, just the usual defensive blips and lack of finishing. Bizarrely, we're not quite out of the tournament yet. If Italy win their next two and we beat Costa Rica, we will scrape through. It's a funny old game.

three step guide to crucible of eternity[edit]

  1. Stand where other people stand
  2. Count to three when red circles appear, dodge forward into the wall somewhere between 2 and 3
  3. Don't leave the stack or knock bosses off the stack

If you just claim to have not done CoE in a long time, people will probably teach the other mechanics or not volunteer you for them. It's one of the easiest dungeons, really. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 00:51, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

Thanks Vili - as always. Is that Vili as in brother-of-Odin? — snogratUser Snograt signature.png 01:24, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
No. Sorry about the Wikia link in advance. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 03:11, 1 July 2014 (UTC)
Oh wow, I loved FFTA! Never got into it with enough depth to realise there were op secret characters like her, though. Must be time to break out GBA4ios again ^_^ (FFT:WotL was very disappointing in comparison. Also hard as nails.)
Littlevili had good stats, but most (all?) of the other "generic secret" units had a combination of great stats + already came with one of the abilities that cost 999 AP to learn, such as Ultima Shot. So she was weak in comparison. The other generic secret viera was Eldeena, and she came with Doublecast. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 03:52, 1 July 2014 (UTC)

God damn it[edit]

I didn't realize NWS was the British equivalent of NSFW and got a nice big Asura ass on my work monitor. Felix Omni Signature.png 15:43, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

oook, i believe you. -Auron 14:02, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

16, and at least half of them used L20 scrolls. At the moment, my new Revenant can start at level 40-something - I might grind enough tomes to skip the whole levelling process. — snogratUser Snograt signature.png 14:22, 20 February 2015 (UTC)

Hey[edit]

I've added a birthday parameter to user infobox some time ago, feel free to use it. (it'll display your age too) #cheers – Valento msg 17:21, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Awesome, thanks! However, it appears to show the age I will be on my birthday this year, not the age I am now... — snogratUser Snograt signature.png 18:33, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
Oh... I will look into that. Thanks. – Valento msg 18:35, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
Fixed. I was rounding to floor before calling {{Datediff}}, which expects "06" not "6", swapping it solved the problem. – Valento msg 18:44, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
Thanks, man. When you get to my age, you don't want to be rounded. — snogratUser Snograt signature.png 18:46, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
Hahah I shall try not to, sir. :) – Valento msg 18:51, 25 February 2015 (UTC)
When you get to your age, candles stop fitting on the birthday cake, so what does it matter really? :p -Auron 01:54, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
