Commodore Lawson Marriner

From Guild Wars 2 Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search

Commodore Lawson Marriner of the Ship's Council, son of Dane Marriner and grandson of Lion's Arch founders Cobiah Marriner and Isaye Marriner, is a man of contrasts. The finery of his greatcoat contrasts with the leathery skin of his seafarer's face, and his quick movements aboard ship belie his age. His ship is the Pride II.

Commodore Marriner survived the Battle for Lion's Arch, and can be found in the Crow's Nest Tavern in Lion's Arch. He is sitting down on the ground near the feast on the table.

If the player killed Scarlet Briar
If anyone earned the title Hero of Lion's Arch, it's the famed Scarlet killer. In our darkest hour, you rose up and ended the nightmare. That's more inspiring than you can imagine.
Talk end option tango.png Take care.
If the player did not kill Scarlet Briar
Every time Lion's Arch has fallen, it was rebuilt as something different. Lion's Arch never hung on to the past. It stepped into the future with a new face.

In Memory of Old Lion's Arch
Welcome to Lion's Arch. I'm Commodore Lawson Marriner. I hope you're enjoying your time in our fine city.
Talk more option tango.png Commodore? So you're in charge here?
By rights, the Captain's Council runs Lion's Arch, but the Commodore does enjoy certain priveleges[sic] and influence. Perks I've enjoyed for 25 years now. Much like my grandfather, Cobiah Marriner.
Talk more option tango.png Your grandfather was a Commodore too?
In his later years. In his youth, he was a sailor. When Zhaitan rose from the depths and the great waves drowned the original Lion's Arch, he rescued many ships and crews that had lost their captains.
Talk more option tango.png How did he become Commodore?
As many of the rescued sailors had been taken to sea against their will, they cherished freedom as only the formerly enslaved can. Under Cobiah's guidance, they began rebuilding Lion's Arch, naming him Commodore.
Talk end option tango.png I appreciate the welcome, and your sharing your grandfather's story.
Talk end option tango.png I will respect that legacy and try to stay out of trouble here.
Talk end option tango.png I am. In fact, I'd like to get back to my exploring.

Hello, stranger.
May the Six watch over you.
What can I do for you?
