Welcome

Helloz. Welcome to the GW2W! If you need any help, feel free to ask me on my talk page or anyone on the Helpers page. Also, what is your sig from? I'm getting a déjà vu feeling from it. EiveTalk 03:45, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, it apparently looks like its from assassin's creed but it was released by a user on devaintart that apparently made it themself.. i changed bottom one to red. Lucian Shadowborn User Aios sig.png 04:08, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
It definitely looks like the Assassin's Creed aggro symbol. -- ķ̌ɎǾshĺ User Kyoshi sig.png 05:03, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Alright, I'll change it. Lucian Shadowborn User Aios sig.png 05:10, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Please don't make too many edits to the Club thing, it was a game that *greatly* annoyed some sysops...if you must edit, make one edit and then wait several days, Don't make two edits to it in a row. Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 18:33, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

I don't think you can do that, unfortunately. - Infinite - talk 16:15, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Maybe, it works fine with IE8, Firefox, and Chrome. I have no idea about any others. Though, if there is a large uproar (most likely not because no one loves me...lol), I'll change the width to a more wider...width. :) - Lucian Shadowborn User Aios sig.png 03:35, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
Not that it doesn't work on almost all browsers. The issue is the massive indents from the sides. Tanetris was okay with slight cosmetic changes to Talk pages, but I think your amount of whitespace will cause a discussion similar to the one I linked. I can't claim I don't like your lay-out, though, but I see reason why others find it troublesome. - Infinite - talk 11:26, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
I know, I was thinking that too, though, whatever change I seem to try, it doesn't appear to work. Perhaps you can have a go at it? Maybe make it an inch or centimeter margin? - Lucian Shadowborn User Aios sig.png 00:15, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Alrighty

Ive changed the size from 600px to 800px, does that width work?/look alright?--NeilUser Neil2250 sig icon5 Anti.png 00:21, 2 December 2010 (UTC)

Acting!

Hi, I see you also enjoy acting :) I'd love to try to break into voice acting myself someday given the opportunity hehe. Atm I'm just doing small time at my local theatre. /sigh Someday... maybe I can move to an acting school and become good ;) lol. --IzzyZen 04:56, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Lol awesomeness! :) Same actually... infact it was a report that really got me interested in voice acting. Started my portfolio and doing some projects with a couple buds who are developing first person shooter games (i believe they're going to be big soon). Always could use undiscovered voices! - Lucian Shadowborn User Aios sig.png 17:53, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Changing GW2W logo in top left corner.

Hey there, I saw you were posting this question on Era's page. The easiest way to do it, and the only way I know, is to modify your monobook.css. Here is mine, you can see the code here. I am using an image that Infinite has uploaded somewhere. I probably stole this code from his monobook a while ago. It always helps to tell me when I'm not logged in too, if I don't see it first. Anyways, just head over to your monobook and paste the code in. You could always change the image in the link for your own customization. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 04:49, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Ok, thanks Venom! Happy holidays! - Lucian Shadowborn User Aios sig.png 05:34, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Oops, I also answered the question on Eras' talk page, where you asked me. Not wide awake, but that says the same thing, basically. :) - Infinite - talk 13:10, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

zomg

I just realized that the elder dragons where mostley asleep in the far shiverpeaks. Why? Are the human gods involved? I think the lore can go that way, infact I think the lore can go with the Human Gods were originally a civilization but after thousands of years combating the dragons in Tyria (keep in mind, the Human Gods are from far southern Cantha, off the known map), they eventually almost died out. After finding a means to become immortal, let's say 40 of the "gods" eventually defeated the elder dragons, they had no allies since they were the only race. Also the Druids, they became part of nature, and the Sylvari are born of nature. Could these be the rebirth of the human druids, fully infused with nature. - Lucian Shadowborn User Aios sig.png 20:55, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

Plot twist: The dragons are the gods- thats why they went silent when balthazar woke up.--NeilUser Neil2250 sig icon5 Anti.png 19:17, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Haha so we are. No one else appreciates Kodan for who they truely are. I mean, being a fighting bear would be just so awesome. I bet, with all the things being put into it..it might be one of those additional races. ;) - Lucian Shadowborn User Aios sig.png 03:53, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Moving pages

Please don't move pages manually (i.e. by copy-pasting content from one page to another). Instead, use the "move" tab, which moves the history of a page along with the content; it's important to maintain attribution for edits. If there's a page in the way, tag that page with delete and an admin will fix it. pling User Pling sig.png 00:56, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Hey you.

Why are you uploading the same pic with slightly varying names? Doesn't really seem necessary, unless of course you have the usernames Lucian Shadowborn, Lucien, and LS all taken. EiveTalk 03:42, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Yeh I do. I had to make my sig shorter in order for it to work the way I wanted it to. - Lucian User Lucian.png 4:21, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Lol, I will, with his permission. I'm just having issues with it's breakup. Together, two of the same template seem fine.. break space about twice, the 2nd one broke up. - Lucian User Lucian.png 0:10, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
It uses my images, so if the thing still functions as it should, you have permission. ;P - 84.31.15.202 00:14, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Lol alright. Here's what I did:
 • Direct links from images
 • Added mouse-over text for some browsers (want to make a seperate template for description.. maybe a popout of the skill description as seen on GWPVX wiki)
 • Backpack now links to Skills page.
 • Kept format

- Lucian User Lucian.png 0:17, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Go edit the other template then. =D If the linebreak still persists, don't worry about it too much :) Gn! 84.31.15.202 00:22, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm trying to understand why the lines are breaking up. If you notice, first skillbar is fine, then the 2nd one has a missing line. - Lucian User Lucian.png 4:05, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
I think I've figured it out, by adding clear, I managed to removing most of breaking possiblities. Only downside, one needs to remember a +2 space between... - Lucian User Lucian.png 4:25, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks

Hey, thanks for fixing the template! I've been gone for a few hours, so I didn't notice until now. I'm slightly confused to how the template would break, though.-- Shew 06:17, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

My best bet is on the irregularities of skill icon dimensions. - Infinite - talk 15:00, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Mine too. Last night I tried something with File:No skill.jpg, today I realized what I intended it to do. I'm going to move it to my userspace nd make everyskill picutre No Skill, so tha when someone puts a skill in, it'll replace it. ;) You know, instead of just text. - Lucian User Lucian.png 16:08, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

I still haven't worked out the empty ones if you prompt them, but not fill them. - Infinite - talk 17:45, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
I think I found a way around that, but it includes 2 templates. :\ - Lucian User Lucian.png 17:45, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Oh? Do tell! =D - Infinite - talk 17:46, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
User:Shewmake/Template:Page contains the skillbar but slightly codes differently. We can make User:Infinite/Template:Skills User:Infinite/Template:Skills/Barebone without harming any1 who is currently using the code. :) It works on Shew's page. - Lucian User Lucian.png 17:51, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Nevermind, that doesn't work. Haha. I tested it on my page. -Lucian on PS3.
The only way to avoid it is as I instructed on the actual template; don't prompt it and it works fine. - Infinite - talk 18:05, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Wouldn't that break it? -Lucian on PS3
Nope, you could specify s1, s4, s7 and s10 and never touch the rest in the template and it works perfectly. - Infinite - talk 18:19, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
Lol but what about s2, s3, s5, s6, s8, and s9? Will it still be the same when inputing codes? Also..see if you can make a |health = ???? that will be on the actual health. Make it useful, you know? I also uploaded from the top bar a mana but I reverted it too. If you want, we can make it a fully functioning bar? :) I have ambitions! - Lucian User Lucian.png 18:22, 30 January 2011 (UTC)
I can input such variables up till certain extent. I would need to seclude ever digit on the health and mana bar, completely re-design the top half of the skill bar and add parameters, etc etc. I doubt anyone knows their stats currently anyway. :P
Also, if you want to leave s2 etc blank, just skip it altogether. s1=blah|s3=blah. s2 is not given, so it defaults to the lock. - Infinite - talk 18:34, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Very nice indeed. I guess my idea will come back down the road eventually. I can see this template being used to give boss skills. haha - Lucian User Lucian.png 18:36, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

What is consensus?

Quoting various internet dictionaries ignores the greater point I'm trying to make. Yes, the official recognized definition of consensus normally contains the word "most." On a wiki, however, consensus is not 51%. Hell, it's not even 90%. Consensus, when used in the context of a wiki, is the overwhelming majority in agreement of a single course of action. I will be the first to acknowledge that this process is incredibly slow (see the incredibly long discussion pertaining to the design of the main page), but what it does do is make sure that everyone is in agreement. In situations such as the dual color thing, a vote to obtain consensus is pointless because a) it would be very close to 50/50 I think (at least at the current stage of discussion) and b) that's not how consensus works. Something as important (in terms of the area of the wiki it affects) as the dual colors schemes should not be decided once and for all by a vote of all things. I imagine that it will take quite a while to get consensus on the dual color scheme, and until then, we will just be using a single "lighter" color.
tl;dr Consensus is an overwhelming majority in agreement over a single course of action (including attempts to make compromises), and consensus -> implementation. (Please feel free to discuss here, arguing about your views of what consensus is during a discussion that has nothing to do with that should occur here, not there.)
(AN: I apologize if I come across as annoyed; I am not annoyed, I just feel that you should understand what consensus is on a wiki, knowing that you've been scared of making edits on "controversial" topics. I've already mentioned how understanding of a general agreement comes with time.) :) Aqua (T|C) 02:08, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

It's fine man, I know that you're a friend and wouldn't come off as annoyed. I am scared of making edits to controversial topics, I will not lie. I think I'll just keep it short and simple and just say "I concur to the notion that has just been made previous of my comment." I can also join the Anti-Speculation Regime... I heard they're calling for more members. - Lucian User Lucian.png 2:16, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Similar to voting in the means that the more people who wish for it to happen will happen but a 6-7 will still need more discussion. - Lucian User Lucian.png 0:54, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
"Popular vote would get you nowhere. Wikis are founded and based on consensus". Erasculio 00:59, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Consensus is the choice of the more. Not the less. IF most people want change, then it will be. Consensus should not be held back by the few. Never the less, in order to get something past, all parties or most of them anyway most agree. No need for voting. That is not how it is run. - Lucian User Lucian.png 1:12, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
"Consensus is the choice of the more. Not the less. IF most people want change, then it will be": not really. That's a very wrong statement (fortunatelly). Erasculio 01:26, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) (Edit conflict) Lucian, if that is how you believe a wiki is run, then I feel that you don't truly understand how wikis (here or on any other wiki) are supposed to function. On a wiki, the minority's opinion should not be ignored solely because it's the minority. Wikis require absolute (or near absolute) consensus, with few or no dissenting voices. (And in this particular argument, when its almost, if not, 50-50, voting would be completely unacceptable.) But this is a discussion for elsewhere at another time.
There should not be voting, people should voice their opinion, and we can see if one side decides to pick the other side. Also known as, if someone presents something that makes a person on one side change their opinion, eventually we will all be either in agreement that there should be dual colors, or that there should not be. Aqua (T|C) 01:34, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

 • "That's a very wrong statement"
I should've worded it slightly different, huh?
 • "A process of decision-making that seeks widespread agreement among group members. General agreement among the members of a given group or community, each of which exercises some discretion in decision-making and follow-up action." From Wikionary.
 • "Consensus decision-making is a group decision making process that seeks not only the agreement of most participants but also the resolution or mitigation of minority objections. Consensus is defined by Merriam-Webster as, first – general agreement and, second – group solidarity of belief or sentiment." From Wikipedia.
 • "1: majority of opinion" From dictionary.reference.com.
 • "general or widespread agreement" From Freedictionary
Happy or do I need to go more in-depth ;) I had no intention that its' not run by the input of the minority and Aqua, you know very well I don't make changes without first obtaining a consensus nor do I revert a change (unless its' totally wrong) I can always state that its latin root means feel together.? The words used mostly among these sources is "most" or a synonym. I'm not saying you're wrong I just don't think you both understood my first comment so I'm elaborating upon it... just give me a chance my brothers from another mother. :D - Lucian User Lucian.png 1:50, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Yes and I apologize for the misunderstanding. - Lucian User Lucian.png 2:07, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
I've already brought up what consensus is elsewhere; it doesn't need to be discussed here further. What does need to be discussed here further is, as I have said previously, the concept of implementing dual colors. Aqua (T|C) 02:11, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

regarding move

I moved it from its former place because it was offtopic and had no need to be there. Warn me not do it again and I won't but I feel that this is the best place for it and it should remain here. - Lucian User Lucian.png 2:37, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

If you hadn't I would have. :) This is the appropriate place for this kinda thing. :) Aqua (T|C) 02:44, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

It seems that the outer border of the table, and column spacing, isn't being handled properly by some browsers or screen sizes. For my case, it is working out fine, File:User Greener firefox table 1440x900.jpg.
One option could be to change the first statement to read align="center" width="90%" and see if bringing it back from the edge helps in any way. G R E E N E R 20:40, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

nk template

Hey, I noticed that you redirected the nk template in your user space to the one in mine. The one currently in my user space is actually a little different than the one @ Template:nk. In fact, I'm probably gonna end up tagging mine for deletion.-- Shew 04:14, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Oh please don't. Or at least move it to mine... I like the way yours functions as opposed to the mainstream one. - Lucian User Lucian.png 4:16, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
The only difference between the two is that the mainstream one uses the encoder, whereas mine just substitutes the character into the image filename. Oh yeah, and mine can handle 35 characters, whereas the mainstream one handles 19. But 35 is unnecessary in the meantime anyways because it can only handle single words. The encoder is much more efficient & organized, imo, and mine has a bunch of redundant code (i.e., I attempted to handle spaces, periods, etc., but they aren't handled. What do you like so much about the older one? If you're sure, you can take them: Translator, Length, GetChar.-- Shew 04:22, 12 February 2011 (UTC)

Maybe I'm just tired and/or frustrated because of my school work, but could I please ask that in the future, you see what you are doing when you make massive changes. (Note the fact that my previous three edits to the Defending Shaemoor example in Ge4ce's article were edits fixing stuff that you removed.) The rewards table you re-implemented looks kind of ugly, and I prefer the open feel that the rewards design I implemented previously. The collapsing aftermath cinematics should be collapsible; they're quite massive and semi unnecessary generally. We should document them, but a reader should have to take the time to use the collapse button to see which cinematics they prefer. The events thing, also, has already been decided to a degree that we talk about events on the relative overarching "Quest"-type thing they are in.
(PS: It's not that I think you were trying to undo changes, I just think you overlooked what your massive change was doing partially.) :) Aqua (T|C) 01:02, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Sure man, my bad on that. Had no intention of purposely undoing changes like that. - Lucian User Lucian.png 1:42, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Help me, please?

I noticed the date/time in your signature links to your talk page. How did you do that trick? I've played with templates and throwing tildes in My Preferences but I can't figure out how you pulled that one off. Would you please share with me? :) - Alice Talk 17:37, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Sure, this is my signature as following in my preferences: -
Now, "subst" allows the txt on the template to be applied (not the template itself). For just the time (UTC) Make sure to add (UTC). You can also change the font and link by doing this <font color="#EF6"> (UTC)</font> Keep in mind, your signature might be too long and may have to resort to what I did. Happy editing! Oh! Don't go overboard with the date thingy. - Lucian 17:47, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! I'll play around with that to see what I can come up with. I like the idea of the date/time linking back as it keeps my overall sig a bit shorter. Thanks again for the help! - Alice Talk 09:31, 22 February 2011 (UTC)
No problemo! - Lucian 23:49, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Woah

My recent changes should suffice. :) - Lucian 5:01, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

You act WAY to hastely

Hoelbrak is not called "Great Lodge of Hoelbrak" as I point out here. You act too quickly for a move tag added the very day you moved the article. -- Konig/talk 06:13, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Done. - Lucian 14:34, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Panama actually lol. Then came back and had a lot of waterpolo. - AiosAios 2:34, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
You make it sound as if there is this universe to be discovered offline.... Pfffft yeah right! =D - Infinite - talk 02:39, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
Hahaha! There is also a unierse in fantasy. But real life can help too! Feel free to add a character to my story. You'll see it on my latest contribs. I like it when people add their own characters or mini stories - AiosAios 2:41, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
Panama! My wife's parents live down there. Been down twice in since 2008. --Moto Saxon 03:49, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

Character template

As Shew intends to delete his character template that you are using (under your old namespace), I have copied it over, with minor modifications to "User:Konig Des Todes/Template/Character2". I will make a couple future alterations to the biography section and skillbar, which can be seen here and here. Feel free to switch to my version of the template if you still enjoy that template's style over Shew's other templates. Konig/talk 06:12, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! - AiosAios 0:46, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
