- i brought my own :P (only got 1 box tho, where are those damn girl scouts when u need em D: ) ^^ fixing (or at least trying to) Template:Trait_icon — Scythe 20:37, 15 Sep 2010 (UTC)
Trait icon[edit]
I see you are working on my little problem there with the template. I hope you can solve it. I just wanted to point out that most of the common traits do not end with (trait). See List of ranger traits or List of warrior traits. Only the generic strength, vitality, etc will end with (trait). You'll notice that things like minor vitality or superior strength do not. I thought about solving this problem with 2 spans, one for the icon and one for the background, but I have yet to test this theory. Venom20 21:23, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
- oh, then they're not all disambiguous, are they... i iz confuzzled now D: hmm... even played around with it in dreamweaver. Thought about how there is the text-alignment thing, so u can align text to the bottom/top of an image (etc etc), but that dosnt work. om actually quite stumped... — Scythe 21:29, 15 Sep 2010 (UTC)
- If it helps you can do it as a table. Chriskang was the one who was working on the template. This is his template. And here is where he was testing it. It uses a table. But when I brought it into main space it had some weird spacing issues. The spacing issues may have been caused by my loop problem and I haven't gone back and tested the table theory. Venom20 21:43, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
- {} (trait)}}} for the disambiguation issue then? (i think thats how u use if on a link, haven't use if in a while). As far as the use of tables goes, i think its because by default, tables get a 1px un-editable div-type "border" (if that makes any sense...). Therefore, a 25px image + the border = 27/25. Sizing it to 23 may fix it, should i try that? — Scythe 22:01, 15 Sep 2010 (UTC)
- hmm, im ganna try something really heavy in templates (something like {{{[stuff]{}}}} w/ #if: *sets wiki status to do not disturb* gotta concentrate for this :) — Scythe 22:16, 15 Sep 2010 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Give the sizing a whirl. As for the potentially ambiguous names, for now thee article and png's are actually titled Strength (trait) vs Strength. Venom20 22:19, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
- yes, i understand that. What im talking about is using w/ the second option, ofc. — Scythe 22:28, 15 Sep 2010 (UTC)

- I have never seen Raine troll on GWW at all. Although Auron can be blunt, extremely direct and tactless, his authority tools were used in a fair, unbiased and professional manner. If you feel any of these users are specifically "against you" I can tell you from unbiased perspective that they are in fact not (although I strike through that fact in regards to Aliceandsven, who is a troll throughout). Some things might feel unfair but the wiki is not a socializing network and we should focus primarily on documenting the game and other GW2-related information. (As you've shown coding eagerness and testing, along with a page dedicated to your lack of work to focus on, I can only thumb up your motivation.)

- At the very least, you need to archive that first section. It's borking your page to hell. Oh, and do you really need 100px margins on each side of the talk area? On narrower resolutions that's a lot of space. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JonTheMon (talk • contribs).

- got it, its cuz the 'content' area is 83%, and the margins are 100px(per side) so if u have a narrow monitor it will to too wide. Will fix — Scythe 20:17, 27 Sep 2010 (UTC)
- Considering it's been 4 days since Jon pointed out specifics (thanks Jon) and it's still unfixed, I'm removing the formatting. You can put it back when it doesn't horrendously break the page. Note: Try testing on different resolutions and browsers before implementing, since talk pages aren't just for you. Asidely, it was never fine on GWW, I just never felt like pushing the issue (and guess no one else did either). - Tanetris 01:31, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Seriously[edit]
I look for one second at the wiki and I see you start on about Auron. I've read everything that has lead up to this. The first post that lead to this point was you commenting (and linking your personal GWW events) to Venom. These two cases are no where near similar. It seemed that you believed Venom was going to be banned, which in fact, he was not. Auron stated that fact, thus disputing your comment. If it was any other user, you would not be trying to start such a fuss over their reply.
Personally, I try to keep any wrong doings on GWW separate from any decision making I do here, but after seeing this and this starting, if you wish to open back up some vendetta on this wiki, I will end it before it gets to the point it did on GWW. — Gares 22:06, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Regarding Auron, yet again[edit]
I don't know how to explain this any more clearly than it has already been explained to you repeatedly. The contributions you point to, while aggressive, are not personal attacks. A personal attack involves commenting on a person (examples: "Auron is bias" and "[Auron's] net worth to the wiki is rather low"). Criticizing what you say and what you do is the exact opposite of a personal attack. It has nothing to do with you, it's what you put on the wiki.
Repeatedly I've seen you say you're dropping it, or even demanding that others drop it, and yet your very next contribution to the wiki is the exact same thing. It's unacceptable. You've been told it's unacceptable, warned, and even received a short ban as further warning (all on this wiki, ignoring the permaban for the exact same thing on the other wiki). It's clearly not getting through. I'm not going to perma you on simple grounds that I can't justify permabanning at such an early stage of the wiki, before the game is even out, someone who I still hold some amount of belief is contributing in good faith, even if it does come out far more as harm than good. So, a year. If you haven't managed by then to drop your crusade and learn to contribute constructively rather than disruptively, I expect there'll be nothing left to do but to permaban, but hopefully instead you'll just figure out what literally everyone has been trying to tell you all this time. - Tanetris 21:44, 1 October 2010 (UTC)
