I can't believe Kudu fused the energy of a draconic minion into the shell of an ancient dredge creation!

The Iron Forgeman is a massive construct that lies deep within Sorrow's Embrace. It has been rebuilt by Kudu who has used dragon energy to power it.

History[edit]

Early history[edit]

The Iron Forgeman was a massive golem originally constructed by the Stone Summit and powered by enslaved elemental djinn. It was used to control Sorrow's Furnace and the flames of the gargantuan furnace deep within the mine, and was intended to be used in the war against Deldrimor. When Deldrimor heard of the Iron Forgeman's existence, they sent in spies disguised as slaves to scout the furnace, hindered the Stone Summit's leadership, and then sent in a small squad to destroy the Iron Forgeman itself. Shortly after, the asuran golemancer Oola recovered parts of the Iron Forgeman and began creating smaller copies in her lab.

Personal story[edit]

In 1325 AE, the Iron Forgeman was rebuilt by Kudu as part of the Inquest's deal with the dredge. The new version was larger than before, and was powered by Elder Dragon energies instead of enslaved djinn like the original. It remained incomplete still, comprised only of a torso, head, and one arm. The purpose of the Iron Forgeman was unknown, but given War Minister Shukov's speech to the dredge, it was likely intended for a similar purpose as the Stone Summit's intention: to wage war on the surface. It was ultimately destroyed by a strike team of Caithe, Zojja, and the Pact Commander.

Trivia[edit]

  • When the Iron Forgeman is defeated, it descends into the lava pit. Before it completely submerges, it gives a thumbs up. This is a reference to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, where the T-800 Terminator is submerged in molten steel and gives the same dying gesture.
