Talk:PvP Reward Track
I just tested the values myself, they are wrong, 10000 rank points may be the cap for rank points in costum arena, but the values for the reward track are different. Here's my proof start: http://i.imgur.com/eRTVXuo.jpg end: http://i.imgur.com/xVMuujf.jpg do what you want. /sky
- I just tested it myself and I have to say that you are wrong: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/16633024/rewardprogress.png As you can see 1500 rank points gave me ~1.5 steps. This meens one tier has 5000 rank points. /fluff
- I tried it out again, there seems to be a difference between costum arena and un/ranked arena progression in the reward track. Here for the Costum arena http://imgur.com/a/1WD8W#0 after 2 matches and 2x~500 points I almost have a transmutation charge (also at the end of 2 Tiers almost at cap i made ~6000 rank points), but in unranked arena http://i.imgur.com/qwBG9uG.jpg I'm nowhere near the charge. /sky
- I did a few more games and it seems to be ~6000 per tier. But I also think that you get unproportionaly more progression for Top Player stats /fluff
- Looks like you missed all the hubub on Reddit this week. But basically devs have confirmed reward track progress is unrelated to rank points, and also unaffected by Top Player stats. See post. I've already updated the article with empirical progress amounts based on mine and others' testing. Veron (talk) 22:29, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
Reward Track Dungeon[edit]
The reason the stat was shown, is because it's easy to see which one offer's berserker's. The reason you'd choose them is because (on the fairly rare occasion) that you salvage an inscription/insignia it leads to making the most money. I admit the table would be unwieldy, but I still would somehow want to recommend that people check prices and see what it is they might want to get. The exotics end up being bound, so for those that want to salvage, berserker's (i believe) offers the best bang for your buck. If some literature on this subject could be added I think it'll help others 98.250.245.21 15:13, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

Reward Tracks[edit]
This needs to be split into PVE and PVP Reward Tracks. Specialization progression is tied to Reward Tracks. --69.249.29.124 11:07, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- Not sure what you mean - the page is already called "PvP Reward Track"... --Leen (talk) 21:12, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- There are two types of reward tracks. The PvP rewards and the Profession Rewards. Two different things. --69.249.29.124 11:50, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- Could you specify what you mean by "Profession Rewards"? --BryghtShadow (talk) 11:59, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- This page's title is "PvP Reward Track". There's nothing on it about profession reward tracks, so the page doesn't need to be split. The profession unlocking mechanism is explained on the page hero point. I don't think we need a page named "Profession Reward Track" as it would be redundant with the Hero Point page. Feel free to create a redirect though if you want. --Leen (talk) 18:35, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
- There is an entire blog post on "Specializations, Part Two: Reward Tracks and Elite Specializations". Did any of you actually read it? There are two different types of Reward Track, have been since the last patch. --69.249.29.124 13:50, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
- "PvP Reward Track" is unambiguous. Regarding the blog, I missed it because I watched the livestream for the new trait system. The game doesn't use the term "Reward Track" for the new system. They use "Training", "Core Skills" and "Core Specializations". If "Reward Track" is this ambiguous, convert it to a disambiguation page and point it to the appropriate pages. Otherwise, have "Reward Track" redirect to "PvP Reward Track", with a note at the top for the "Profession Reward Track". The blog post is titled "Specializations, Part Two: Reward Tracks and Elite Specializations", so really "Profession Reward Track" should redirect to "Specialization" page with clarification of the term "Profession Reward Track". --BryghtShadow (talk) 14:45, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

- Exactly - "reward track" is only used in the blog post, it's not seen in-game. We document the game, not the blog. —Dr Ishmael 14:58, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
- It's not used in-game yet. The Elite Specialization section of Profession Reward Tracks will be added to the game when HoT launches. They reward the player with weapon and armor skins similar to PVP Reward Tracks. --69.249.29.124 15:13, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
- Another place
it's been referred to as "reward track"was on June 23, 2015: "Core skills are reward tracks of heal, utility, and elite skills organized by skill category" and "[...] earn spirit shards through daily achievements, champion loot bags, PvP reward tracks, [...]"; May 19, 2015: "Adjusted drop rates on container items given from reward tracks to match PvE drop rates"; May 21, 2015: "Fixed a client crash that could occur when a reward track was completed.". But it's still not there in-game.
To illustrate, in-game items right now use the term "reward track" in the context of PvP (Fallen Hero Chest (rare) and Fallen Hero Chest (exotic)). This breaks "/wiki Reward Track" if you no longer have any link to "PvP Reward Track". Especially when the tooltip says "Reward Track" when you mouseover the tab.
You've said, "there are two different types of reward track". Don't make "Reward Track" a primary article for the specialization-related usage. If anything it should become a disambiguation page linking to the ambiguous pages, or a redirect to the most commonly used term with a {{otheruses}} at the top linking to the secondary usage. --BryghtShadow (talk) 18:24, 1 July 2015 (UTC)
Edit: Fixed wording. Should be "Another place the term reward track has been used" instead. --BryghtShadow (talk) 18:29, 1 July 2015 (UTC)- I'm not sure of the motivation for creating this section in the first place, but I can say that I wound up on this page via a redirect at Reward track after having gone there looking for information on the rewards obtained via Elite specializations. I agree that this page specifically should not be split, since its title clearly indicates that it refers to PvP reward tracks. I also agree that the wiki is intended to document the game, and I'm not sure if specialization rewards are referred to as "reward tracks" anywhere in game. However, there are several places within the wiki itself where they are referred to as such (e.g. Dragonhunter, Herald, Berserker, Scrapper, Druid, Daredevil, Tempest, Chronomancer, and Reaper). Therefore, I think it's reasonable to assume that a significant number of people looking for information on these rewards will wind up here instead because of that redirect, regardless of what they're called in-game. To prevent this, I have changed the redirect to a disambiguation page that leads to information on both. I think this is fair, as it should resolve the issue without affecting this page. 150.199.140.25 17:08, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

Feedback 2015/10/09[edit]
The recently added experience booster is missing on this page, it give a 50% boost to reward track --83.198.113.47 12:55, 9 October 2015 (UTC)
Don't have any permanent access to Dungeon Tracks?[edit]
So I just started doing PvP dailies with HoT release. I completed dungeon master achievement ages ago (every path, including story paths). Yet when I look at my PvP reward tracks, all the dungeon ones are locked. And it doesn't appear to have anything to do with character vs account, cause I looked at the tracks from my COF farming warrior, who can open up the dungeon (which means story completion) and has done P1-P3 so many times there's no way I could count it, but it's still locked and just says "temporarily available in 1 month..." Is this a bug? Or has something changed and the wiki page just hasn't been updated? 76.10.188.242 00:44, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- (comment restoration. Leen plz)
Did you do story after the introduction of PvP tracks in April 2014? Any story mode completion prior to that does not count. --BryghtShadow (talk) 00:56, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- I guess that's a possible explanation. I have no idea when I did stories with respect to the introduction of pvp reward tracks. I guess it's time to do a pass of story modes.
- You have to do the story dungeon paths again to permanently unlock the dungeon paths (or, in Arah's case, the repeatable story instance that once was the dungeon path). We all had to do it. :) --Leen (talk) 00:59, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- Ok. Added the note to article that story completion prior to 15 April 2014 will not count. To clarify, "Revised the Ruined City of Arah Dungeon Track to be unlocked by story mode or explorable mode completion." as per 23 June 2015 update. Also, because Arah story is now a personal story instance it's not "repeatable" by yourself. --BryghtShadow (talk) 01:26, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
Crystal Desert Reward Track[edit]
I see Crystal Desert Reward Track in the game, but it's not listed here, yet. Is this a new reward track found in Path of Fire expansion? Shena'Fu (talk) 08:42, 23 September 2017 (UTC)
Custom arena points apparent to incorrect[edit]
With two 10% bonuses, I'm getting 385 points per custom arena win. Based on that, it's probably 320 for a custom win, 160 for a loss. The original link documenting the amounts didn't mention custom arena. Where did the 450 number come from?
Original links used to document the other numbers forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/PvP-reward-track-not-giving-correct-progress/first#post4760490 reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/2umalf/pvp_reward_track_tier_is_600_rank_points_not_1000/
I recommend people do some additional verification now that it's easy to see the amounts before and after a match.
It should be noted that the 6 Stronghold tracks and the 9 Rank Finisher tracks give 1 Black Lion Key each (all unrepeatable)[edit]
For a total of 15 BL Keys from PvP Reward Tracks, per account. --118.100.73.127 16:49, 4 December 2018 (UTC)
Boosters do apply to custom arena[edit]
With 50+10+10% boosters it took me 7 matches to gain 2 reward tiers today. I didn't check the numbers, but I notice a marked difference in reward track progress with and without the 50% booster. -- kazerniel (talk) 00:10, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
