Talk:Default Builds
formatting[edit]
I'm thinking we should make a skillbar template to display the skill/trait icons and names, and probably the trait position. (I got a bit sidetracked adding the trait position to the trait infobox). -Chieftain Alex 20:36, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
{{Build|Elementalist|Staff|"Wash the Pain Away!"|Lightning Flash|"Feel the Burn!"|"Flash-Freeze!"|"Rebound!"|Fire|1,1,1|Water|1,1,1|Tempest|3,2,3}}

- Quickest I can do. Laters. -Chieftain Alex 20:57, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
- How much detail you want on this page? I'm happy to go with your suggestion if you want to keep it simple. I've made my tables extendable to keep the page short and so people can choose which builds they're interested in and be presented with all of it's information. - To my mind a build page should be about the build, not a detailed description of every bit of hover text from the GUI. -Chieftain Alex 22:39, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
- I've made a template for the builds based on these ideas and from your sandbox. {{Trait compact table}} :
{| class="wiki table" {{Trait compact table|Earth|3|2|3}} |}
Explosives | ||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
- Possible? Yes. [[User:Chieftain Alex/Templates/Trait icon]]. (haven't updated that since 2015 though so the trait icons are different now) -Chieftain Alex 16:56, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
- I figure we only really need the skill facts and the description / recharge, the rest is apparent due to its position in the table. -Chieftain Alex 17:06, 2 October 2016 (UTC)
(Reset indent) I agree with Chieftain, just the base info is enough; most players will just want to know what the skill does, not all the tiny details (which they can click to learn more). Plus at this point, I think a table like that would make the page load faster, now that it is full of a ridiculous amount of stuff. -Darqam (talk) 19:43, 5 October 2016 (UTC)
- The custom css only seems to work on user pages. Whenever I preview it on main pages it doesn't work. The above table should look like
this. J.Tesla (talk) 20:27, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
- No problem Tesla, I'd add all the popup css to the common.css rather than using a widget on the page anyway. (But yes, poke gave me a get out of jail card for "form"s) -Chieftain Alex 20:49, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
Binding without confirmation[edit]
Experienced a second occurrence. This time, in loading the Default PoF necro build, I automatically soulbound a rare warhorn in my inventory, rather than equip the Account Bound Ascended warhorn I was also carrying. The rare warhorn was higher in my inventory and the Ascended near the bottom. There was no dialogue to confirm I wanted to soulbind. Adeira Tasharo (talk) 21:02, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
Experienced this as well - had 3 exotic shields in inventory and equipped highest of three with no confirm dialogue. Yanaru (talk) 21:25, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
Inconsistent sigils[edit]
Was going through and updating builds making a small mental note that I was seeing sigils different from recently updated builds but put in my update anyway. However when I got to necro I noticed something odd. If I had the HoT default build selected when I then selected the core build it gave me sigil of escape/energy for staff. HOWEVER, if I selected PoF then core it shows sigil of annulment/energy.
I feel like there is a high likelihood this weirdness is happening for the other classes. Yanaru (talk) 20:53, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
