The Prototype Vermilion is a prototype Twisted Watchwork designed by Scarlet Briar. It is also part of the Watchknight Triumvirate boss inside Strike Mission: Old Lion's Court.

- Dual Horizon - Prototype Vermilion swings its hammer in a circle, generating dangerous gravitational fields. Targets inside the ring receive Tidal Torment. Targets outside the ring receive Ergo Shear. Targets hit by the ring take high damage, receive a random effect, and are knocked in a random direction.
- Gravitational Wave - Prototype Vermilion exposes its singularity core, causing ripples in the fabric of reality that damages everything in a large area.
- Mass Driver - Prototype Vermilion strikes enemies before it with a wide swing of its hammer.
Kinetic Impact - Prototype Vermilion strikes enemies with another swing of its hammer.
Gravity Hammer - Prototype Vermilion accelerates its hammer into the ground with extreme force, causing moderate damage in a large area. Every other time this skill is used, it creates Boiling Aether at the attack's location.
Boiling Aether - Scalding aether from the Mists collects into a growing pool. Upon reaching maximum size, the damage increases significantly. Dissipates after a short time.
- Spaghettification - Prototype Vermilion unleashes tidal forces that violently stretch enemies, tearing them into long, thin strands before obliterating them completely.

- Applies Red Attunement to players who stand in the pool spawned after the relevant boss has its Defiance Bar broken.

- Explosive Impact - Prototype Vermilion Evades incoming attacks and leaps up and accelerates its hammer into the ground with extreme force, causing moderate damage in a large area and Launching all enemies.
- Extraction - Prototype Vermilion slams its hammer onto the ground and violently Pulls all enemies at range.
- Hammer Swing - Prototype Vermilion swings its hammer up and Dazes enemies.
- Mass Driver - Prototype Vermilion strikes enemies before it with a wide swing of its hammer.
Kinetic Impact - Prototype Vermilion strikes enemies with another swing of its hammer.
- Vermilion Horizon - Prototype Vermilion channels lethal gravitational fields that cover the entire area far from itself.
Vermilion Singularity - Prototype Vermilion inverts the covered area as it now channels lethal gravitational fields around itself.
