Kimmes the Historian traveled from Ascalon long ago to study the Hall of Monuments and the memories imbued therein. He discovered and restored long-dormant magics that enabled him to view the deeds of different adventurers who had traveled to the Eye of the North over the years. After returning to Ascalon and dying in Ebonhawke, Kimmes's spirit returned to the Eye where he remains to this day, waiting for a hero who he sees fit to inherit the artifacts once owned by the slayer of the Great Destroyer.
Location[edit]
- Eye of the North (instance) (as a vendor)
- Eye of the North
Items offered[edit]
All items cost 0 and can be purchased an infinite amount of times, but they must be unlocked by earning points in the Hall of Monuments in the original Guild Wars.
Dialogue[edit]
In the old Eye of the North instance[edit]
- If the player owns Guild Wars: Eye of the North
- I recognize the worthiness of your soul, hero. I cling to this world in order to guard these items, destined for you. Centuries have passed, and you're finally here. Collect your legacy. The time has come.
- Show me my legacy.
- (If the player unlocked all the rewards)
- They belonged to a hero who earned all these relics during their life. I've waited centuries for someone to come who embodies the same heroism. You are that person. I give it all to you.
- (If the player unlocked some of the rewards)
- They belonged to a hero who earned some, but not all, of these relics during their life. I've waited centuries for someone to come who embodies the same heroism. It's you. Claim what is yours.
- Only the ancient hero, from the period following the Guild Wars, when Prophecies were fulfilled in Tyria, when Factions were united in Cantha, and when Nightfall fell upon Elona, can quest for these relics.
- I returned with the Ebon Vanguard when they were recalled to their final home in Ebonhawke. It was there that I drew my last breath. But, I've always known that this was where I belonged.
- I'd like to ask something else.
- If I pass your grave, I'll reflect on your determination.
Why are you here, of all places?
How do I earn the rest?
- (If the player unlocked all the rewards)
- Why are you here, of all places? (same as above)
- I'd like to ask something else.
- Thank you. I must go.
What items have you been keeping?
- Good-bye.
- (Otherwise)
- A hero from another time once strode these halls. I see the potential for the same bravery and glory in your eyes.
- More than two hundred years ago, the hero honored here found glory after the Guild Wars, when Prophecies were fulfilled in Tyria, when Factions were united in Cantha, and Nightfall fell upon Elona.
- In this life, you do not travel the same paths as those who came before. Only an ancient hero can quest for this glory.
- I see.
How can I achieve these things?
- I see.
Tell me more about this hero.
- I'll be on my way.
In the new Eye of the North[edit]
- Welcome to the Eye of the North. It brings a smile to my face to see so many inspiring figures walking this hall again.
- Many heirlooms were stored in the Hall of Monuments. If that inheritance was meant for you, try to view the Hall in the Scrying Pool.
- Thank you.
Are there any treasures of the past here? (if the player owns Guild Wars: Eye of the North)
- Likewise.
