Walkthrough[edit]
At the beginning, you will have approximately ten NPCs aiding you, and will encounter two large groups with normal and elite ranked foes. After the second group, a cinematic plays and any surviving NPCs sans Logan and Rytlock leave. Starting at this point, Gaheron will throw fireballs that launch players continuously. Listen to Logan as he shouts when a fireball is coming.
You can go either to the west or east brazier first. Rozgar the Forge guards the Western Brazier while Bolok Firebringer guards the eastern.
- Rozgar The Forge
Rozgar will always have two allies with him which are immune to all damage and conditions. These will mimic his current skill set and change at every 25% interval of his health.
- At 100-75% health, he uses a greatsword with a Whirlwind Attack-like attack, which can be painful.
- At 75-50% health, he uses a hammer with a charged knockdown skill.
- At 50-25% health, he uses an axe.
- At 25-0% health, he uses dual daggers, and will frequently stealth.
Once he is dead, destroy the Western Brazier and loot chest.
- Bolok Firebringer
There is a small group of normal and elite foes patrolling in and out of Bolok's room, including an Elite Flame Legion Smoke Shaman. In the two adjacent rooms are similarly composed groups. Bolok seems to only have a single skill, conjuring a fire wall which does a lot of damage. At every 25% health interval, he will summon two normal ranked mobs.
- Central Gate
Upon reaching the central gate, one of the three effigies will turn hostile - this will happen either before or after you destroy the braziers, so it might be worth attacking the effigy so that it is alone. With the two braziers destroyed, a group of normal and elite foes will be waiting at the bridge - attempting to cross the bridge will trigger a cinematic. After this, proceed down the only path (following the NPCs), fight a small group of normal-ranked oozes, and reach another bridge that leads to Improaster.
- Hierophant Improaster
Improaster summons imps that will approach a character, pause for a few seconds and explode. Simply allow the imp to approach, then move out of the red circle when it appears. Improaster himself has a single projectile attack, but is immune to all standard hard crowd controls.
After the boss, cross the bridges; be prepared for the Godforged Hellstorm that will appear around a bend.
- Flame Legion Effigy
Burns nearby foes, Buffs allies. The burn is applied via a huge red circle about himself. There are two sets of 3 acolytes in the back of the room. When the effigy reaches around 70% health, the immunity bubble around them will drop while they heal the effigy. Use this opportunity to kill them (they do not appear to respawn). You must kill the acolytes before you can kill the boss.
- Gaheron Baelfire
Gaheron begins the fight in his godform. During which he will spawn fiery boulders - these will instantly kill any player they touch, even through dodging. He will also throw fireballs which launch, just like during the beginning of the dungeon. When a boulder hits Logan's shield bubble, it will break apart and leave behind Molten Hearts, which must be thrown at Gaheron to damage him. However, holding a Molten Heart gives you the Core Handler debuff which deals continuous damage over time. Furthermore, the area immediately around Gaheron causes constant burning.
After taking about 15% of his healthbar in damage, he will lose his godform. Despite his dialogue, he will not attack. When he hits 75% health, he will begin to spawn Gaheron's Magma Walls, with additional rows every further 25% health lost. At 50% health and 25% health he will gain additional attacks.
Any players that are defeated will teleport inside Logan's shield for revival - as will any player knocked off the edge (in a downed state). By keeping a player safe inside the shield at all times this fight is essentially impossible to lose. Furthermore, it is possible to lose aggro and naturally regain your health while within the bubble without resetting the fight, allowing this fight to even be solo'd.

Dialogue[edit]
Speaking to the NPCs watching the fight between Rytlock and Logan:
- <NPC>: How long do you think the human can hold out against Brimstone?
- Why did they start fighting?
- No idea. The two of them have been tearing into each other since they got here.
- Can I ask something else?
- Hope they save some of that for the enemy.
- Where's the Flame Legion?
- The cowards retreated. They're further down the passage, probably laughing as we fight amongst ourselves here.
- Can I ask you something else?
- That wouldn't surprise me.
- Shouldn't we break this up?
- They'll get tired eventually. In the meantime, you should probably talk to Marma.
- Let me ask something else first.
- We're wasting time here. Let's move on
- We're not exactly off to a great start.
- <NPC>: Look at the two of them fight!
- How long have they been on each other?
- Captain Thackeray got into an argument with his former guild mate just after we arrived.
- Let me ask something else.
- Old grudges die hard, I guess.
- Where's the Flame Legion?
- They've pulled back. They seem happy enough to let us fight among ourselves.
- Can I ask you something else?
- That doesn't surprise me.
- Shouldn't we break this up?
- Be my guest, but I wouldn't get between them. You should talk to Marma over there.
- Can I ask another thing?
- We're wasting time. We should go.
- Great, just what we need right now.
Speaking to Lieutenant Marma:
- Lieutenant Marma: Logan and Rytlock have been at this since they got here! We need to move forward!
- Agreed. We're all here. Let's get going.
- Excellent! We could only hold this position for so long.
- Let's get underway, then.
- Hang on. Reinforcements are coming.
- Give us a moment.
Initial cinematic:
- <Character name>: What's going on?
- Rytlock Brimstone: This human thinks he can take on Gaheron Baelfire.
- Logan Thackeray: No, this charr thinks he can fight the Flame Legion by himself.
- Rytlock Brimstone: Fighting with you is the same as fighting solo.
- Logan Thackeray: And what is that supposed to mean?
- <Character name>: Enough. Both of you gather your troops. We need everyone for this.
After the cinematic:
- Lieutenant Marma: Glad you boys could get things settled. Let's get moving.
Into the citadel:
- Elite Flame Legion Igniter: They're back for more! Kill them!
- Elite Flame Legion Fire Shaman: The first line has been broken. Defend the gate!
- Elite Flame Legion Stalker: The front line broke formation! Prepare for an attack!
Talking to your allies:
- Logan Thackeray: Must that damned charr stick his muzzle in everything?
- So what's your plan?
- We need to cut off the head of the Flame Legion. That would be Gaheron Baelfire.
- Sounds Reasonable. So, what's going on between you and Rytlock? (same as "Why are you mad at Rytlock?")
- Good Plan.
- Why are you mad at Rytlock?
- I had to leave him behind once, to save Queen Jennah's life. He's never forgiven me for that.
- Have you tried talking with him about it?
- Why? He would just shut me down.
- You can always try.
- You may be right.
- Too bad he doesn't seem to understand your duty to the queen.
- Yeah. Who is he to think he's useful, right?
- Rytlock Brimstone: I still can't believe Logan's here. We've got enough to worry about.
- What is the best way to defeat the Flame Legion?
- Gaheron Baelfire commands the Flame Legion. He needs to die.
- Okay. Let me ask something else.
- Sounds like a plan.
- Why are you mad at Logan?
- He cut and run on us. He can't be trusted.
- You don't think he regrets his decision.
- Don't care. Once a coward, always a coward.
- Everyone deserves a second chance.
- You're probably right.
- I'll keep an eye on him.
- I'm sure we can muddle through somehow.
Cinematic when entering Gallery of Rage:
- Gaheron Baelfire: Fools! I shall ascend to godhood and destroy you all!
Cinematic at the forward position:
- Rytlock Brimstone: That lunatic wants to turn himself into a god.
- Logan Thackeray: Get the men to safety. I'll go forward.
- Rytlock Brimstone: I'll go. You're not needed here.
- Logan Thackeray: You think you can handle this alone? You're the lunatic here.
- <Character name>: Stop arguing. We need both of you to breach the inner sanctum. There must be a way in.
- Rytlock Brimstone: The Flame Legion controls its gates with mystic braziers.
- <Character name>: Then they should be nearby. Let's move.
After the cinematic:
- Logan Thackeray: Lieutenant Marma, take your people and guard our backs. We're going in!
- Lieutenant Marma: You heard the man-pull back to the entrance!
- Rytlock Brimstone: We're going to need heroes to take this thing down.
As Gaheron launches fireballs: (not in chat log)
- Logan Thackeray: Watch out for the fireball!
- Logan Thackeray: Incoming fireball!
- Logan Thackeray: Scatter! Fireball incoming!
When approaching the Elite Flame Legion Effigies before the gate: (not in chat log)
- Rytlock Brimstone: One of the effigies is activating. Destroy it!
When approaching the gate before deactivating the braziers:
- Logan Thackeray: It's some sort of magical gate.
- Rytlock Brimstone: It's just Flame Legion magic. They should have some braziers nearby that control it.
At the western brazier:
- Elite Trazin Cinerate: Invaders! Defend the armory!
- Rozgar the Forge: Guard the brazier!
- Rozgar the Forge: This brazier will stay lit, and you will fail. (Upon death or deaggro)
After destroying the western brazier first:
- Rytlock Brimstone: This is the brazier powering the gate.
- Logan Thackeray: But the gate is still up. There must be another one we need to find.
At the eastern brazier:
- Bolok Firebringer: Defend the brazier with your life! Lord Gaheron must ascend!
- Bolok Firebringer: Minions! To me! (At 75% health)
- Bolok Firebringer: Rise, minions! Protect the brazier! (At 50% health)
- Bolok Firebringer: Minions, drive them back! Defend the brazier! (At 25% health)
- Bolok Firebringer: Fools. You will never defeat Lord Gaheron! (Upon death or deaggro)
After destroying the eastern brazier first:
- Logan Thackeray: Destroying the brazier weakened the gate.
- Rytlock Brimstone: But it didn't destroy the gate. We have to find the other brazier and demolish that one, too.
After destroying both braziers:
- Logan Thackeray: That should have opened the gate to the central chamber.
- Rytlock Brimstone: They're not going to let us stroll through the door.
- Logan Thackeray: Then we'll just have to force our way in.
Approaching the central gate:
- Elite Flame Legion Lava Shaman: Hold the bridge. Burn them to ash!
Crossing the bridge:
- Gaheron Baelfire: (laugh) Puny mortals. You will never ascend to face me.
Cinematic after the destruction of the bridge:
- Rytlock Brimstone: Kalla gouge his eyes! He slaughters his own troops to get to us!
- Logan Thackeray: That means he's still vulnerable. He's afraid of us.
- Rytlock Brimstone: Because he knows he's about to die.
- Rytlock Brimstone: And he's right. Pick a limb and start chopping.
After the cinematic:
- Logan Thackeray: We need to find another way over.
- Rytlock Brimstone: If we stand here he'll just pelt us with fireballs. Let's see where this bridge takes us.
- Rytlock Brimstone: That was close back there. Just so you know, thanks for the save.
- Logan Thackeray: I didn't have time to think about it. And I'm sure you would do the same for me.
- Rytlock Brimstone: Hm. Don't get too ahead of yourself.
- Rytlock Brimstone: Let's just focus on finding Gaheron for now.
Talking to allies:
- Logan Thackeray: I swear, Rytlock would get himself killed if I weren't around.
- You know him well?
- Know him? Once we were like brothers.
- What about this Gaheron? Do you think he can really become a god? (Same as "Do you think Gaheron can become a god?")
- All right, then.
- Do you think Gaheron can become a god?
- There once was a human named Kormir. She ascended to godhood. Gaheron probably thinks he can do the same.
- Sounds bad. How well do you know that Rytlock Brimstone guy? (Same as "You know him well?")
- That makes sense. We need to stop him.
- Good thing you're here for him.
- Rytlock Brimstone: I still don't trust Logan. You can't rely on him.
- He saved your life back there.
- He didn't mean to. He was just acting on impulse.
- He's got good impulses.
- All right, then.
- What do you think about Gaheron becoming a god?
- The charr have no gods. Gaheron's a fool, and soon he'll be a dead fool.
- I'm glad Logan came along with us. (Goes to beginning)
- Even so, we need to stop him.
- It's okay. We have your back. And Logan's as well.
Fighting at the bridge:
- Rytlock Brimstone: You haven't lost your edge, Logan. I'll give you that much.
- Logan Thackeray: I know.
- Gaheron Baelfire: Flame Legion! Rise up and engulf these intruders!
- Elite Flame Legion Lava Shaman: Stop them before they get any further!
Approaching Hierophant Improaster:
- Hierophant Improaster: You shall not reach Lord Gaheron!
At the Flame Legion Effigy:
- Rytlock Brimstone: Acolytes-sacrificial fanatics for Gaheron. Seeing as they're ready to die, let's not keep them waiting.
- Rytlock Brimstone: The Acolytes are vulnerable. Dispatch them! (When Flame Legion Effigy hits 50% and there are still Acolytes alive)
After defeating the effigy and the acolytes:
- Rytlock Brimstone: Gaheron would turn the legions into his mindless worshippers.
- Logan Thackeray: Then he's got to go.
- Rytlock Brimstone: Smartest thing you've said all day.
Talking to allies:
- Logan Thackeray: You and your friends fight well. Rytlock and I were once tight like that.
- You two really need to talk things through.
- I doubt he'd listen to me.
- Only one way to find out.
- Pity you're both too stubborn to just work things out.
- Rytlock Brimstone: You and your friends fight well. Reminds me when Logan and I were friends.
- You two really need to talk things through.
- I'm not sure. He's probably too embarrassed.
- You're the better warrior. You need to take the lead.
- Too bad neither of you can forgive the other.
Encountering the Godforged Flame Caller:
- Elite Godforged Flame Caller: They've come for Lord Baelfire! Protect the altar!
Cinematic approaching Gaheron:
- Gaheron Baelfire: You cannot stop me from becoming a god!
- Rytlock Brimstone: The charr have no gods!
- Gaheron Baelfire: I will burn you to ash!
During the fight:
- Gaheron Baelfire: A temporary inconvenience. I still have claws. (When losing his godform)
- Gaheron Baelfire: I. Am. A. God! (When regaining his godform)
- Gaheron Baelfire: The god of flame commands you to BURN!
- Gaheron Baelfire: Burn in the cleansing flames of Baelfire!
- Gaheron Baelfire: Face me and be consumed by my fiery wrath!
After defeating Gaheron:
- Gaheron Baelfire: It cannot be! I...was...a god!
Final cinematic:
- Logan Thackeray: You fought well.
- Rytlock Brimstone: As did you.
- Logan Thackeray: A long time ago I...I made a mistake. I left when I should have stayed.
- Logan Thackeray: And I spent the past five years trying to justify it.
- Logan Thackeray: I still feel like I did the right thing, but I'm sorry I left.
- Rytlock Brimstone: For all those years, I was so angry I wouldn't listen.
- Rytlock Brimstone: I understand why you did it. And I'm also sorry that you did.
- Logan Thackeray: Are we good, then?
- Rytlock Brimstone: No. But we're better. A couple of ales might help.
- Logan Thackeray: You got a deal.
Talking to your allies after defeating Gaheron:
- Rytlock Brimstone: We've shattered Gaheron's power, and Logan has at least apologized.
- Good to know you've forgiven him.
- Forgiven? Perhaps, but not forgotten. Not yet. Let's just take this a step at a time.
- It's a good sign that you're at least talking now.
- At least it's a start. Good luck.
- Logan Thackeray: Gaheron's dead and Rytlock's willing to talk.
- Good to know you two are friends again.
- Let's not rush things. We're talking, but he's still stubborn and judgmental.
- It's a start, at least. Good luck.
- All things have a beginning. Good luck.
