Talk:Summon Power Suit

Are we sure it's actually armor, as in a suit of armor? Couldn't it possibly be an autonamous golem set to "Defend?" Either way it sounds kickass XD Zolann The IrreverentUser Zolann The Irreverent Mysterious Summoning Stone.png 00:28, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Well, I'd assume it's like the Norn forms. That is, an asura inside a golem. Kinda like a Gundam. (inb4 THIS HAND OF MINE GLOWS WITH AN AWESOME POWER) --Kyoshi (Talk) User Kyoshi sig.png 00:37, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
Battlesuit,Power Armor, Powered exoskeleton etc. are a Science-fiction terms for Mechanized Suits that grants the user extra strengh, protection and other uses depending on the setting. So unless they commited a mistake, it will be exactly what it says--I AmLegion talk 01:12, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
when did this get announced? --Knighthonor 09:14, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
It's from here. "Asura: The abilities of the asura have a lot to do with golems and magic. An asura player might use a simple "arcane blast" or create a deadly "radiation field." If they are really in a bind, they can summon a magical "golem battlesuit" that they can climb into and use to devastate their foes." --AmannelleUser Amannelle Me.jpg 11:53, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
This is what references are for. I'll go add them. -- NilePenguin 14:53, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
Like many others I need to learn to read an article fully. I now retract my previous comment with the outdated sig. Zolann The IrreverentUser Zolann The Irreverent Mysterious Summoning Stone.png 21:45, 22 May 2010 (UTC)
This could be an elite actually, cause if you're playing as an Ele and have both this and Tornado it will be a little weird.--AdventurerPotatoe User A F K When Needed Potato icon.jpg - 12:33, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
I'm hoping for some kind of arena for golems :D like red vs blue ;3 --The Holy Dragons 12:42, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
We'll probably see some kind of arena. For asura, not just golems. Probably red vs. blue vs. yellow (all three the colleges). --Naoroji User Naoroji Golem - Green.jpg 07:37, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
In the trailer you'll see a charr firing his gun at the red battlesuit, after the battlesuit got hit a asuran jumps out and casts a spell ( i think) at the charr. so multiple races are able to join in the arena imo. --The Holy Dragons 07:57, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
What they are saying is that hopefully there will be a golem arena where you automatically get in a Golem for some Golem a Golem battles, that doesn't mean the skill will dissapear or anything it will ofcourse be available in PvE DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHH Oh My Gosh *Roll Eyes* 81.11.187.98 23:38, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Correction: They will keep this in their transdimensional compression pocket matrix. EiveTalk 07:02, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Just for Asura[edit]

In http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STsjcWT4XSA at around 6 minutes, the narrator mentions that there is a player in a battlesuit. Because Asura were not playable for the demo, does this mean that any player is able to use a battlesuit, not just Asura?

plausible, but then the player could have been an ANet staff member. (Xu Davella 13:04, 29 August 2010 (UTC))
I think it's just the Asura because the golems are built by the Asura, and why would they answer the pleas of the other races for more head room. - Giant Nuker 13:35, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
It's from a temporary event reward. Shadowed Ritualist 13:50, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
So it's safe to say that more than just the Asura can operate a battlesuit?
There are 2 different battle suits, one is a karma reward, the other is an Asuran Racial skill. - Giant Nuker 21:21, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
To clarify, the suit in the demo was probably the Hazmat Suit. -- ķ̌yǾshĺ User Kyoshi sig.png 02:53, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

merge & rename[edit]

We have the hazmat suite and golem battlesuit both listed as racial skills. the hazmat suit also allows non asura to use it. and now EF is calling it an Asuran Battlesuit and that it's a racial skill and non asura have the ability to use it for a short time in [1] interview. I'm thinking that they are all the same thing. I have no clue which is the official name though. --Moto Saxon 16:39, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

I don't think there is enough information to change the status quo. The interview doesn't give any information to strongly support them being the same thing. -- aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 08:12, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
If we go by the interview alone, we now have a third suit? the "Asura Battlesuit"? Should that then be added as the third option. --Moto Saxon 12:06, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
I believe we should hold off on creating a "third" suit and also hold off on merging any suit articles for the time being. I agree that we currently may be lacking in information, and the interview was published in a no-english language. Which means that some pieces of information may have been lost in translation. We should probably wait for slightly more information. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 15:05, 13 August 2011 (UTC)
why merge? battle suit is a skill and hamzat is bought using karma - they're totally different Getefix 11:37, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Elite?[edit]

In this interview, Jeff Grubb mentions that asura have an elite racial skill that allows them to create a battle suite that anyone can enter and use. --Moto Saxon 03:36, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

It'd make sense because it most likely behaves like a form and many elite skills are forms. But this skill's description states "automated armor" which makes me think of some kind of autonomous robot which follows and protects the user. So it could be either or. Mediggo 07:06, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Since anyone can use it once it is summoned, it actually sounds like an environmental weapon similar to Supply Crate. --Moto Saxon 15:03, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
In this interview Jeff gives more info, so I'm updating the page accordingly. --Moto Saxon 15:47, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

THIS WILL BE AWESOME !!!!!!!!! :D[edit]

Concept art, hazmat and skill type[edit]

The similiar golem suit labeled as Hazmat Suit is identical to the concept art of Golem Battlesuit. The skills are probably the same, too. I also have a feeling that utility skills might get disabled while in this suit (unless they create a fantastic animations for a golem using Bull's Charge or Dagger Storm) which essentially makes this a skill that spawns an object which transforms the user. Mediggo 11:34, 29 June 2012 (UTC)

Power Suit[edit]

The effect of using summoned object of this skill is transformation called Power Suit. Mediggo 01:02, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Skill Is Weak[edit]

When I hit level 30 during beta, my power level was about 400 (Guardian class). The Fist Punch damage on this elite skill was something like 235 (says an amount in the skill description). That is way below par for the level requirement. It barely does anything to my foes. This suit gives you a health boost but the damage is lacking. This suit replaces your skills and I expect it to do compatible or more damage than what I do if that's the case. If not, why in the world would I use this so called elite skill??? I kill faster without it. You will be better off using a class-specific skill. This is supposed to be an elite skill but it does not act like it. There is no reason to use this skill other than looks. Please fix the damage and rate of fire for this skill. Very disappointed. 75.191.165.117 04:56, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

This is not a forum, and we do not document the subjective weakness of skills. Talk pages are here for discussions on the content and structure of a page. Rants, suggestions and other forum talk belongs here. --zeeZUser ZeeZ Sig.png (talk) 05:00, 27 July 2012 (UTC)

Under Water[edit]

The suit can't be summoned under water but you can enter water with it, swimming through and under water. However you are not able to use any of the skills granted by it or any utility skills. -- Fey User Fey Zeal Blue Sylvari Tango.png 03:13, 1 September 2012 (UTC)

Golem Comparison[edit]

How does this Golem stack up in comparison to the Alpha Siege Golem, is the damage sufficient enough to be a cheap instant build alternative to the Siege version? Can its attacks hit doors or only players? Smoke 00:58, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

The damage is negligible compared to the siege golems. It works best as a tanking tool against melee bosses, to distract the enemy attention and deal lots of consecutive interruptions. It doesn't make extra damage to gates or anything like that either. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 01:35, 18 December 2012 (UTC)

Power Suit Stat Bonuses[edit]

What this power suit does (apart from the change in look) is replace your weapon(s) with a special one having its own (low) damage and (high) stats. You keep whatever stats you're getting from your armor, jewelry and traits, but your weapons get replaced with one that adds a considerable amount of Power, Toughness and Vitality, as follows:

  • Weapon Raw Damage: Is roughly equivalent to a plain (white) Longbow of your level. At level 80 the raw damage is 654 (but your damage is high due to the extra Power).
  • Weapon Power and Toughness bonus: Equal to twice your naked Power or Toughness (i.e. the weapon adds double the amount of Power and Toughness you already have from levelup bonuses). At level 80 it adds 1832 (2x916) to both your Power and Toughness.
  • Weapon Vitality bonus: Equal to your naked Vitality. At level 80 it adds 916 Vitality.

To summarize: You keep all your normal stats from equipment and traits, but you lose your weapon and you gain a weapon with the following stats at level 80:

  • Damage: 654
  • Power: 1832
  • Toughness: 1832
  • Vitality: 916

Also, you can't jump while wearing the suit, but you can dodge.

I'll go ahead and put that info on the page. --Alad 01:39, 22 February 2013 (UTC)

Skill name similarity with Hazmat Suit can cause confusion[edit]

The Hazmat Suit (which I'm not aware of) seems to have similar skills as the Power Suit, but I strongly suspect the skill damages are very different. This requires that a separate set of skill pages be created for the Power Suit, rather than linking them to those of the Hazmat Suit. I went ahead and modified the damage numbers to correspond to those of the Power Suit Asura Elite skill, since I think it's more important than the Hazmat Suit consumable (and since I don't know how to create a new set of skill pages :) ). --Alad 03:31, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
