How does it work?[edit]

I can see there's like x10 +1p But how does this actually work? is it like per 10 you kill you get a point or what? For someone who didn't make this you can't really know what it's saying... 213.49.99.98 01:38, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

I think the article was literally copied from demo videos in terms of text, so it may be that no one knows what the x10 +1p is. Konig/talk 06:30, 13 July 2011 (UTC)
I believe it's kill count and amount of points towards the achievement count gained upon attaining it. - Infinite - talk 12:50, 13 July 2011 (UTC)

Ghost achievement[edit]

I'm not sure whether the achievement is for Ghosts or just Ascalonian Ghosts so I've not added it to the table. But the first tier (10 ghosts slain) awards the achievement "Ghost Buster". -- aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 10:16, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

You are scarily sometimes on the same wavelength as I am. :) I would stick to Ghosts for now; Ascalonian Ghosts is a little specific for something like the Slayer achievement. Redshift 10:58, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
Yes - I almost entered it that way. But Ascalonian ghosts are the only ghosts we've seen so far and they seem to be every where atm - they could have their own category pretty easily. -- aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 11:08, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
Its most likely that 'ghost' is the family (creature type by gww's naming), and 'Ascalonian ghost' is the army (affiliation).Konig/talk 19:38, 18 August 2011 (UTC)
It is Ascalon Ghosts, in the video the player is a charr and had just completed the charr starter mission. They are the only foes he could have faced so far and had progress on the title. Kenrid 07:54, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
All Ascalonian ghosts are ghosts, but not all ghosts are Ascalonian ghosts. Just as all Flame Legion are charr but not all charr are Flame Legion. We have no means to prove there will not be any killable non-Ascalonian ghosts. Konig/talk 09:58, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

I have maxed the Ghost Buster achievement, screenshot is here. Sorry I'm not familiar with Wiki editing. 84.59.35.227 17:11, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Added to the article, thanks for the information! - Infinite - talk 17:14, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
I was really expecting to see a title icon at the end of that last tier. So far, there don't seem to be very many actual Titles for player to wear. Kenrid 19:01, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Update[edit]

I updated from Curse press video. Title and the quotation do not seem to change as tier goes up, so I combined them. Also not all titles were Name + slayer. So I changed the header to just name and put current titles as of Prees beta. A handful have Bane instead of slayer. Was also able to update a couple point levels. Kenrid 08:19, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

Krait[edit]

I noticed that no one caught that the description used in the Krait track was a reference to the movie jaws.-Valton[LION]

A lot of these seem to be references, such as the drake description. -User Eive Windgrace Harbinger of the Deceiver.png 01:22, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

As a matter of interest, how do Americans spell "worshipped?" — snogratUser Snograt signature.png 01:25, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

As per US spelling it should be "worshiped". 82.131.230.11 01:39, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

Drake Slayer and 50 kills[edit]

Last time I checked, Drake Slayer required 50 kills for first tier. I believe it's a bug, and Arena Net might fix it soon (if they didn't already), but the problem is that I already killed more than 50 of them. If someone have a (alternative) account with less than 50 kills, keep an eye on this counter and update the page if it'll be changed :).
Faalagorn/ 20:03, 8 September 2012 (UTC).

Plant Slayer[edit]

I have yet to come across any plants in PvE. Nightmare court doesn't count as they have their own slayer, does anyone have any ideas? I know that you could complete it with PvP/WvW by killing Sylvari. C The 00:51, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

I have 12 plant kills, that's roughly a fifth of my number of WvW kills. I've been to every area and can't think of any plant enemies. Only 1 giant kill, too. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 03:03, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
Plant's kinda relevant. The giant kill was probably the champion one in Diessa Plateau. 192.168.104.79 03:32, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
Veteran Oakheart and like creatures. I only know of 2 hostile giants to kill that aren't risen - one in Diessa, one in Harathi. Both champions, both event related. Konig/talk 08:24, 17 September 2012 (UTC)
At what point does Slayer title exhibit? Saw it on fellow who had only killed two giants. He said it just showed up as an option one day. If need to get 1,000 giants, then nobody could yet have Slayer title in game, because the two giants (where does Mith below get four?) just don't come up that often and would have to devote almost all time in game just to killing giants. I have spent about ten days concentrating on the Giant Slayer bar and have about 35 giants. Hopeless. 50.81.134.187 22:58, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
The Slayer title is from PvP Conqueror achievement called "Slayer", and not related to the generic "Slayer" category. --Goomby 21:54, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

Giant Slayer[edit]

Is it currently impossible to get this achievement? I don't think I've seen a giant type mob that isn't an Orrian anywhere. --Duoprism 17:02, 24 September 2012 (UTC)

There's a champion one in one of the events tied to the Town of Nageling, and there's another champion tied to an event in central eastern edge of Harathi Hinterlands (tied to a Shining Blade member). A regular (non-champ or vet) "Giant" named NPC can appear in the SW corner of Toxal Bog. This and Plant Slayer are by far the hardest/slowest but they are possible. Konig/talk 17:45, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
There is a giant in the Brisban Wildlands event: Help U.N.I.T. find and destroy the Inquest Separ (talk) 18:10, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
This event is the best for giant slayer currently. If you get more people there you can scale it up to get ~10 kills every 7 min. (as long as you let the event fail.)

Indiscriminate Slayer[edit]

There is an limitless amount of rats in th Forearmed Is Forewarned mission if you wan to complete Indiscriminate Slayer Achievement in one go (will take a while though). User Tytan Crow Crow.jpg Titan Crow 17:37, 16 November 2012 (UTC)

A cluster of lightning bugs respawn on 15 second intervals in Rata Sum's Idea Incubation Lab bridge. Utilizing an elementalist's earth focus skill (default 4) on auto-attack is a great way to clear both the Focus Master and Indiscriminate Slayer achievements while away from the computer (you will not be auto kicked).

Exactly what kinds of creatures count in this category? Sometimes, slaying white/critter creatures doesn't increase the kill count under this achievement. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 218.186.18.236 (talkcontribs) at 18:33, 19 November 2012 (UTC).

It seems that everything white except crabs (which count as shells) and fishes.
Faalagorn/ 21:39, 28 December 2012 (UTC).
Sockeye Salmon in the Eastern Divinity Dam area count towards the Indiscriminate track. I checked it today. Not sure about other white tagged creatures counting or not. 71.235.184.131 19:21, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

?[edit]

"Most of the achievements contain "Slayer" in their name, but the ones that require killing enemies of the 5 playable races have "Bane" in their names." What about Bandit Slayer? I think this should be rephrased, or removed, since it doesn't give any valuable information at all. 95.180.84.110 23:45, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Also Pirate Slayer is an exception. 95.180.84.110 23:46, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
The bane achievements are the things a race is most threatened by i think... Pirates aren't an exception, because there are pirates of all races and there aren't that many pirates, the bandit thing i found weird as well but since most undead are humans raised in Orr Zhaitan's Bane is the bane of the humans. Sjacie User:Sjacie 11:19, 23 February 2013 (UTC)

Acquisition[edit]

Should there be help acquiring these achievements?

If so should they be here or on the pages of the category of enemies?

Sjacie User:Sjacie 22:42, 24 February 2013 (UTC)

Other than giants (there's only 4 hostile ones in the entire game) and plants (only walking trees and Arah's poison trees), all enemies have big populations all over the currently available world. There's no need for a guide for most of them. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 02:41, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
Ok, I was thinking about it since i have several level 80's now and some slayers where still 100-200 kills. Also most simple things still have a walkthrough or something like it. Sjacie User:Sjacie 22:41, 25 February 2013 (UTC)

Pinipal counts towards Griffon Slayer[edit]

I just got the 500 kills tier for Griffon Slayer when killing a Pinipal. I doubled checked and they do indeed increase the Griffon Slayer achievement count. Should this be added to the trivia section? There is nothing about it on the Pinipal or Griffon pages. Eldris (talk) 13:31, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

Pinipal is probably a made up race and needs to be changed.--Relyk ~ talk < 15:50, 28 March 2014 (UTC)

Flame Legion Slayer[edit]

A good place to farm these is in Diessa Plateau, Incendio Templum where they spawn quickly, there are many, their level is fairly low and easy to fight. --ShortnCurly (talk) 11:43, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Is there a list of creatures that contribute to Elona Safari Hunter?[edit]

Can we assume that any creature in the PoF maps which isn't Branded/Awakened/Forged or a Plant is simply lumped into this miscellaneous category? --124.82.58.10 19:04, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

I don't know of any complete list, but I believe it's just Animals in the Crystal Desert. (Including Hydras and Felines and and maybe other similar categories). At least I very much doubt that thinks like Desert Bandits count. And most of the other stuff already counts somewhere else: Scarabs should be insects, Harpies, Oozes, Elementals, Djinn, Giants all have their own categories. Junundu are probably wurms (not sure on that one) and I honestly can't think of much else atm. --Alcahata (talk) 21:03, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
I just took a little trip and tested some mobs (just what I encountered randomly). Here's what counted: Hyenas, yellow Scarabs near Lommuld Kraal wap, Sand Sharks, Sand Eels, Choya, Hydras, Sand Lions, Djinns, Djunundu Wurms. Here's what didn't: Vultures, Harpies, Minotaurs, Skelks, Giants, Alpine Stalkers, Longhorn Sheep, Wargs, Arctodus, Moose, Wolves(?!), Pinesouls, Griffons, Destroyers, Dust Mites, regular Sharks (?!), Jacaranda, Skritt, Gazelles, Rats, regular aggressive Scarabs, Mosquitos, Ibogas, Shadhavars, Drakes, Elementals, Bandits, Corsairs, Barracudas, Mosshearts, Spiders, white critters. Seems to be (1) aggressive foe that's (2) highly specific to the Desert and (3) not "prey" or (4) already in another category. Not sure what to make of those yellow scarabs, must be an anomaly. --Mojliggora (talk) 15:55, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
