No slot transfer

No real surprise but:

Map travel

Hi i dunno up i missed it anywhere but will there be instant travel like double click a town and u teleport there or has it not been mentioned yet? Best regards Richi2k7 06:50, 15 February 2008

Hello. Yes, there will still be map travel in the game. It's been said in interviews that there isn't going to be any significant changes to the transportation system in Guild Wars 2. Hey i didn't really read all of thsi but please read, in gw 2 u should put in so that u can have your own trade, as in mining and smithing. or making bows. Also you should make it so that certain professions can wield certain weapons, instead of having it the way it is now. I really think if you do this it would attract WAY MORE players to the game. Alright thanx for your time, have a good day

Yeah, let's take more old, WoW-like (using WoW cause it's the only thing on par, really) and add it to GW! Profession Specific items? Bah, kills a lot of things. For example a +5 Energy Spear/Sword/Axe, pulling with a Longbow, tremendous damage. --- User Vipermagi Sig.jpg-- (s)talkpage 17:35, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

umm that is dumb. im a R/R and i want to weild the stormbringer!!!! And let me guest u guys play runescape that why u guys r whining. GW2 should have more freedom. God u guys want it strict like the USSR or something.

I'd like more solid skill animations and by that I don't mean body animation but rather non-ethereal light animations like Armor of Earth in GW1. The 2D symbols even if they flash and are a bit animated feel outdated. SamoK 18:35, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

I'd like to have the areas of wells and wards marked more visible and easily identified. Not just by an effect icon. Like a pulsing glyph on the ground and/ or a colored area (barrel wise). SamoK 18:35, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Add skill/ action "play dead". While playing dead the health bar should be empty. Allow attack of corpses. Destroying corpses should prevent the use of them - as wells, summons etc.. "Play dead" should have minimal duration of the falling dead to get up animations. SamoK 18:35, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

Allow the use of "meat shields". Missile attacks should be hindered by not only non-living obstacles, but by other players/ monsters. SamoK 18:35, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

i think green waepons should be a little easier to farm becuase i have been farming for weeks and not got a single green. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk) .

Seriously i dont care if Guild Wars 2 is a completely seperate game or not i still want to run around tyria with a character that i have already leveled to 20 and want to level him to god knows what level! I mean come on, i dont want to have to run around and do missions with a brand new character that is only like level 10 and then have to level him up even more and run around and find some brand new freaking gear for him, i mean for christs sake! I really think that the developers would greatly benefit from allowing us to transfer our characters, otherwise they wont get any money out of me for guild wars 2. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Pookface (talk) .

Is there a period in that? Anyways, Guild Wars, in comparison to other MMO's, is known for its storyline. Having 270 year old characters running around happy, hearty, and healthy doesn't make loads of sense. And ANet, I'm assuming, wants new people to be able to pick up GW2 and play without a disadvantage (or as little disadvantage as possible). Calor Talk 19:45, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
There are only commas in there. Imo, talking in CAPS is gay. I fully agree with Calor. Having a 270 yr old walking about is scary. --- User Vipermagi Sig.jpg-- (s)talkpage 19:46, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
wow I'd liek to have my mesmer in gw2, but instead i can create a similiar char with the same name, it's really not that hard to get to level 20 and get armor for it so I don't care that much --Cursed Angel talk 19:53, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
You know...if you're not happy about can always just not play GW2 at all and keep on playing GW1...Shew 18:33, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Ok so as i agree with some of the things that were said about my article, i must say that you guys are looking at this way to literally. I know it would be creepy to have a 270 year old character in tyria would be kind of creepy im sure ANet can come up with some kind of story or extra add on that would allow us to revive or resurrect our old characters from GW1. Its not that hard people, all im trying to say is that i dont want to have to go back and level up a brand new character and find all this new gear for him, i just think that i would get bored doing that for a new character. And as for the comment about new players not wanting to be at a disadvantage, it would be no different if someone went out and bought GW1 now and started playing it. They would be at a disadvantage with all these level 20's running around. But seriously, i dont think anyone would feel as if they were at a disadvantage, it would just be like picking up WOW right now and playing it, except with GW you dont have to pay per month.--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Pookface (talk) .

Then theres the fact we maynt even be able to keep our looks, skill,s attributes, even skills. --- User Vipermagi Sig.jpg-- (s)talkpage 20:05, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
A bridging mechanic between Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 could be built so Guild Wars character could go to Guild Wars 2, all Arenanet would have to do is have a system that recognises the look of your character and appoints the same, if not similar look for that Guild Wars 2 character. Additional storylines could be introduced for 'returning characters'. I would list about 3-5 ideas I have in my head to do this kind of thing, it is 100% possible but in the end is only limited by Arenanet, who doesn't want this to happen. Would be nice, but lets face it, Arenanet doesn't want to do it so its not going to happen. 03:10, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
No. It's a different game. You can't transfer WoW chars to GW, and can't transfer GW chars to GW2. Lord Belar 03:25, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
What happens when you've already crossed your OGW character over to GW2, and you further advance your OGW character (new stuff, new titles, etc.)? Do the advancements reflect on your GW character? → BROWNSPANK 12:20, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah that sucks that we cant use our old files. If only they allow it for speacil severs. Or after we beat the game that be sweat.

I heard that GW2 was going to be quite a bit different from GW1, at least you get Hall of Monuments to transfer stuff, so it's not completely starting over new. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk) .
I think once more of how GW2 works is revealed, it should become pretty obvious to people why transferring characters from GW1 to GW2 wouldn't really be practical. -- 12:22, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
It's obvious why they would not allow the transfer of GW characters, it would ruin the game for newer players as there will be lots of people far into he game who won't want to party with them, the early parts of the game will be ridiculously easy at lv 20. and most importantly the characters that come in at lv 20 will monopolise the economy within the first week of release(since they get easy access to rarer items newer players couldn't until they levelled up to beat certain foes).(marsc 19:54, 20 October 2008 (UTC))

To be fair, A-Net could of easily found a way to merge GW with GW2. One example off the top of my head is that you get captured by the Dragons and frozen in time for 250 years. GW is an MMORPG, there should only ever be updates/expansions - NEVER a new, seperate game. The Deathless Derv 03:19, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

i think new professions will be hard to think of but the necro, warrior, monk, ranger, ele and rit should be kept as they are main professions in all the campaigns. controling a number of animals would be a good skill or atleast being able to summon a skeleton dragon but lowers your health to half until the dragon is killed and it would be an elite skill. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk) .

You mean Mesmer in stead of Ritualist I take it? Rits are not a core profession ... -- 19:34, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
It would be cool if each character could learn all professions available to the race, not only as secondaries, but as primaries too. Then, to have everything, you would only need to change choose the primary and secondary profession, and then equip the armor. That way only ne character per race would be required to try everything. 09:42, 3 November 2008 (UTC)

what will happen with storyline? what do they mean "smaller story arcs"? Plohek 11:14, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

In the Original Guild Wars games there was basically only one linear story which you could work you way through and the side quests were pretty ignorable for the most part. They're hoping to move instead to telling several smaller stories of equal importance. What this actually means, I don't know. Personally I hope they still include a way to complete the game through finishing the stories, the story made it stand out from the MMORPG crowd. --Aspectacle 20:38, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Similar to the EotN storyline, I would assume. A few separate arcs all contributing to one overall plot. Calor Talk 00:24, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
Yup, it could be like EotN. Maybe they'd like to take it even further - the idealistic press waffle was all about "building a world and adding stories to it rather than making a story and building a world to fit it" and "blah open blah sandbox environment blah blah". ...that information is so old. >_< --Aspectacle 02:52, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

As long as it encourages people to make all quests and missions, not to skip all they can to the end, it's fine with me. 09:43, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
I think this is were the sidekick system comes in. In EotN it wasn't needed, 'cause all characters were alrdy lvl 20 but in GW2 we will be probably playing storyline while not maxed. If there wasn't any sort of a sidekick system, this would make other stories way too hard and others way too easy, depending which you do first. Dan Ops (Dan Ops - talk) 16:09, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

For what ive been told, they're removing the click&move from gw2 for adding more first-person playability. You know: jumping, running, swimming... It seems it will be a more roll game, probably for fighting against wow.-- 19:19, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Lmfao you lag when u use wasd on guildwars! Get a new pc istead of complaining on this. Best Regards Richi2k7

I think that guild wars has made a wise decision by keeping the levels low in the original guild wars but if they raise the levels very high in guild wars 2 i think that it could meant that guild wars may lose some players because it might become a little too similar to WoW and i enjoyed playing with people the same level as me and it was easy too level up and it wasn't a pain to do it. If guild wars raises the level cap to 100 or even unlimited they should rethink about how it will take role-playing characters a long time to reach pvp areas. Guild wars should raise the levels to maybe 35-40 but definitely not to 100 or unlimited because it would make the game less enjoyable. Another thing is if u can attack while you move it will take players who don't play WoW such as myself a long time to get used to the way the attack system works. Other than that I can't wait until the game comes out --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Pedro (talk) .

Please sign comments by adding four tildes (~~~~) to the end. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I saw somewhere (I think it was the PC gamer article) that even if the level cap is really high, leveling up will probably stop giving you benefits after a certain point. So they could have no level cap, but you don't get anything for getting past, say level 30 or 40. Levels past that would become something of a status symbol, like elite armor and titles. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 01:11, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Some of the articles are a bit iffy on how level will work, but I think in general that a lot of guild wars fans are playing for the faster leveling/equipping, and don't want a traditional leveling RPG where we need to spend a lot of time killing stuff to successfully play in some areas. It does seem something worth keeping the developer's attention on. Tambora 22:06, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

I both agree and disagree. If we set a high lv limit we might be like the other mmo. If we have a unlimited lv limit it we would be in new frontier. The only mmo to do so and people will start buying this game because of this.

(Probably a bit late response) They are going to raise the level cap, but as Wizardboy said, higher levels will give you less benefits, and after a certain point, you won't gain any benefits. There's also a sidekick system which makes your stats (attributes, health, armor etc.) the same level of a partymember or freind, which allows you to do dungeons and other areas you don't meet the requirements for. So while it does say it gives you a higher level, which promotes the game a bit, it isn't that much, which also promotes the game for the ones who don't like a high level cap. --Sir Bertrand 17:32, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Like what Wizardboy and Sir bertrand said basically. In regaurds to the PCG article, i'm fairly sure that was information from ANet, could be wrong but quite sure. PheNaxKian(T/c)User PheNaxKian Pheonix Sig.Jpg 16:02, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
I imagine a lvl 100 cap in this sense. It takes you noticably longer to get to it than it did for 1-20 in GW. Also, lvl 100 would be the strength cap. you would still be able to gain levels after that, but they would only give you say, a skill point. --Wolf 16:14, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
I agree with Wolf, a level 100 strength cap and gain levels higher would be a good idea as you can gain levels but you wont be stronger than others. I have noticed some peopel complainging it would take forever to get to lvl 100 to play PvP. Why not make certain level brackets like WoW did so everyone is in the same strength range as everyone else? Naruto Fox 14:50, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
In structured PvP, everyone will be max level and have UAX, even PvE characters. In world PvP, you can use a sidekick system to fight at the same level as your teammates, while you're actually a lower level. So in PvP there will be no problem at all with levels. --Sir Bertrand 17:41, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
I belive in the PC Gammer Article Anet said that a lvl 100 cap would take something like twice as long as 20. I hope 1-100 takes some work, but not the mmonths to a year or more like Wow. When I can pull 1-20 and first teir survivor in about 6 hours total gameplay (Factions) , thats a little fast.... It would be nice to actualy enjoy the level-up proccess and not just have it super rushed. I liked Proph in that repect in that it took some time to it 20, but no t a whole ton. I think 1-100 should take a good solid 20-30 hours of play, and would help me grow more attached to my characters as I developed them. Don't get me worng, there is something fun about havng a char set for the entire game with a few elites and 15k armor and everything awsome like that in 8 hours. --Wolf 14:42, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
I think 16 hours for you to level to whatever that is the cap would be best.(Whatever amount of time for items) Not everyone that plays this game is hardcore and can play any amount of hours they want to. Unlimited level cap sounds cool but what would happen in pvp? If your level 150 and everyone else is level 100, 101, 120. What stops them from ganging up on the most experanced player? I think the enemy shouldn't have a way of knowing whos the more experanced player. In history officers and other ranking leaders removed all signs of rank from there uniforms before entering battle for a reason(snipers). When the most experanced player gets taken out. That experance gets taken away from the team. If theres going to be a unlimited level cap make sure the enemy can't see it. Arch Dreary 22:55, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I think high level cap isn't that bad everyone is thinking if it's made well. At the moment in GW you get max level like in 10hours or so (at least in NF and Factions). I don't see it grinding if there's high level cap, let's say 100 if you can easily achieve it just by playing the storyline (or side quests since it has been stated that the storyline won't be as straight forward as it was in GW1). But imo no level cap is bad thing, even if it gives no benefits, it would just lead to grinding and "lfp, lvls 500+!". Dan Ops (Dan Ops - talk) 21:42, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
I think that the stats you get from leveling should stop being awarded at a certain level, say, Level 50, but every time your EXP bar fill up, you gain an "Empty" level. AKA, You get your Skill Point and your level increases, but you don't get any attribute points. I would have a level 300 Char right now if this was the way it worked. ^_^ The Spleen Ripper 08:05, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Private Party Districs would be nice...

I know they're going for the whole non-instanced areas, but I really love the instanced areas. I think it would be quite cool if they had Private Party Districts so you can have "Your Own Private Copy of the Game" while playing, people who like playing in non-instanced areas would still have the option to play in an open District. Best of both worlds, am I right? ^o^ 05:16, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

The normal world (current explorable areas) are going to be persistent, but all missions and dungeons are going to instanced. So yeah, best of both worlds. --Sir Bertrand 17:42, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
I don't know if I'd call that the best of both worlds. I actually like being able to explore the normal world without having to cross paths with anyone. I actually play GW a lot like I would play Diablo 2, and if I'm going to play with other people, I prefer to know these other people, and not have to worry about dealing with people I don't know. That was, actually, one of the bigger selling points of Guild Wars -- I got to choose who I dealt with, and could ignore everyone else if I wanted to. Tashiro 10:26, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

No, I think it's been said that Guild Wars 2 will have a separate client. They are effectively new games, just with some links between them (i.e. HoM). --User Pling sig.png Pling \ talk 14:58, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
I Imagine that GW2 can be added to a GW1 account but will have its own client, which slient you run depends on which game you run. Would be cool if GW1 and GW2 were linked, so i can go back and forth between GW1 and GW2 at the char select menu. I Imagine your GW1 and GW2 accounts have to be link in someway, how else is HoM stff gunna work? --Wolf 02:52, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Okay thanks...I was wondering 'cause I don't want to link my Guild Wars account w/o the Divine Aura to a GW2 collector's edition...for OCD reason I'll probably just start a whole new account. What you both said makes sense. Shew 03:32, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
If you get the Guild Wars CE, you could link it to your existing GW account. By the way, there is a planned developer update on the Hall of Monuments which should provide more details on GW1 / GW2 account linking, it was tentatively scheduled for publication last week, but it got pushed back by another developer update on the latest balance changes, I suspect the Hall of Monuments update will be published some time this week. -- Gordon Ecker 05:57, 23 June 2008 (UTC) account can only have one character...and it has to be created on a significant GW date :P so...HoM update! (hopes that Zodiac weapons can be put in the HoM!!!)Shew 17:40, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
The Hall of Monuments update has been published. HoM rewards in GW2 are account-wide. By the way, if you haven't created a CE account yet, you can attach the CE key to your current account. -- Gordon Ecker 02:22, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
I don't really like the update. Cool. Tormented Weapons also. I don't play Nightfall...I just don't like it...I'm a Factions'd be nice if Zodiac Weapons would be added...and Gordon the only place I could find a CE is on ebay...200 or 300 bucks.

People diddn't spend long amounts of time and or money on Zodiac weapons. 17:39, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

No - nothing. The Hall of Monuments announcement today is the first bit of news we've had for a while related to GW2 but there was little information there about GW2, you know? So it's been pretty much all quiet since May of last year. --Aspectacle 22:58, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Seems kinda bad tbh. Gaile said that 2008 will be an interesting year, beta, new info, screenshots, videos etc. Since we haven't got anything of those and it seems we won't during 2008. Can't see any reason why they would hide the information except from other companies and/or they just want to give as a big surprise when the game is more ready. Fight one person

Hay i thought of a good idia fo Guild Wars 2. Have u ever wanted to just fight only one person without haveing to invite them to a guild and meeting them in Guild Hall? Well I have and I would love it if ther was a PK mode or at least a PvP option next to their name. This way u can fight right there at that time and it ould make Guild Wars alot more fun!

-Exal Shadow- (soon to be top assasin) 04:21, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

I kinda would like to see people fight in the middle of PvE. But if it was to result in PKing then that would not be cool.--Yozuk 08:14, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

It sounds like you want to do the same thing World of Warcraft does and use duels where you challenge any player you want to a duel, a big pole comes down and the other player chooses if he wants to duel you through a little pop-up saying "(enter name here) wants to duel you, I accept, I decline". And that's a good way to handle PKing Giant Nuker 12:02, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

If there is anything like that i just want the characters involved are sent to a private area. It would be annoying to have people fighting each other while hanging in a town.

New Prophesions?

quick and simple r u guys thinking about adding new prophetions? Well i though of this 1 porphetion called the Blademasters they use 2 swordwepoons (un nessasaraly the ones that wariers use acctualy perferably not! but for like a second hand wepon could b another sword) and they can have buffs taht increas attack power, defence power, or accuracy, and even critical hit ratio!!! but so theres no one that can use all and become the ultimate prophetion they sould have a cap on like 1 or 2 i call it preparation spells example: ~Quick Strikes~ Preparation spell. user's attack speed is incressed by 20...50%. This preparations spell permenetly ends if you use a spell. c????? good? i think so... and there primary profetions would be speed for each atrabut added you move 2% faster and another atrabute would be duel wielding you deal more damage for each rank here and htis is also the attack skills (they use adrenalin)and for 2 other atrabutes would b atrunement spells and well... um.......... erm... well i dont relay know wut could go there probably were healing moves would go... im not sure what you could name it but i would deal with healing and spells that make u.... i odnno all i got but i drew a pict of it and i dont know how 2 post picts on this so ya

Yes, really, I'm hoping for at least 4 character slots, preferably six; I want to have space to rebuild one character, roll the descendants of two or three other characters, and still have slots to try out the Asura and Sylvari. 23:14, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

endless nerfing with no value and not fixing real probs

Let us 1st introduce one of the most exasperating "features" of gw1. The micro management and marketing of every aspect in gw ad infinatum.

E.g. 1 - When one of the the new campaigns was released the rewards and treasure were adequate. Shortly after the drops were then decreased, assumedly because this was enough to stir sales. There is no "random drops" despite what they hype, and most of all drops are garbage anyway - at significant cost. Chests can spawn everywhere quite often in totally inaccessible places and also in places that can ruin the mission/bonus attempt meaning if it took 20 minutes to get a team that was not total loosers, + 30 minutes to accomplish the task at hand only to have a chest prevent access. Even if it happens once - if you have a normally busy day including driving through rush hour traffic, responsibilities after work or schoool that leaves a very small portion for entertainment. areanet/ncsoft ignoring " /bug <text>" calls to the problem and running into the problems again show a total lack of regard for an individuals time.

Some of the problems with the cheap reward system may be areanet/ncsofts perception of farming, bots, cheats, the "economy", whatever - I don't really care, that is not my problem if they can't develop better security or systems without impinging on game play and enjoyment. A good portion of players are not thoroughly experienced enough to really make objective calls on what should be acceptable for their gaming dollar and personal time and are being 'marketed', indoctrinated or bullied into a particular mindset. To have some "D" average, 15 year old student argue that the server time is free when you bring up the poor, poor response times and character DC's - you have to ask your self why should I even respond to such a narrow view of things.

E.g. 2 - level/character Developers/programmers have far too much freedom in the constant frittering around with skills and characters. Several classes - despite what balogny they insist on - are far too advantaged. Even the press has reported they are 'favorite classes' of the individual staffers of the developer and far too many have endured this disregard for the real balanced game play. This of course leads into the stupidity of the nerfing of other charcaters skills. My elite was recently nerfed in THREE ways all at once, nrg cost, effect distance, and dmg in pvp. While not all that strategic or debilitating the ability to drop some of these over powered characters at a distance was a good portion of the fun in playing - never killed them just a surprise drop and a second or 2 of slowing them down. Well,... whine, whine complain to many no-life loosers insisted it was unfair when the dmg was not even that significant but it did go a long way in really balancing the skewed characters skill system until for no reason they nerfed it.

I know that there are certain fixes required, updates and the occassional righting of some gross oversight on their part - but I grow very tired of having to go over builds again, seeking items or skills just to get on even footing. If you want real world 'inflation' or degradation or life experience get a job.

E.g. 3 - fan sites hawked by areanet/ncsoft are the most infantile sites I have ever come across are comprised of power hungry teens, mentally anyway, eager to pander to areanet/ncsoft tastes and are callous, disrespectful, mentally diminutive and meanspirited individuals clustering together to carthistically dump on any and all. gw insisting that any ideas and suggestions must go through these self-congratulating sites which is a cheap and inferior way to screen creativeness. Many on these sites will turn the issue away from the context by yelling that you can't spell or have words they don't understand, close threads, delete posts, etc etc. Well I guess if all you have is a hammer - everything looks like a nail. These are the people that should actually be learning from others.

E.g. 4 - hero system was changed earlier this year and despite many ensuring their awareness to the problem they continue to neglect it. Heros will stop at many various points throughout a map and refuse to use any skills, EVEN WHEN MANUALLY INVOKED!!! At the same time flagging them can be useless as they run well beyond the range most often into danger.

E.g. 5 - There are many minor bugs that persist with new ones being added almost daily. a) I have stacks of exactly the same items that will not stack on each other (been like this for 2 years), b) when targeting a character to a location with a mouse click, often there is some devious circuitous route they may follow that can more than double the distance they should have to go, c) about 6 months ago keyboard clicks, in particular, as well as mouse clicking quite often requires initiating the action more than once - such as picking up and item, casting a skill, etc (with 5 pcs' I have more than tested this out and is not due to pc's, interfaces, nor the high-speed ntwk [1mB up 10 mB down]) and may in fact be another "nerf" to make it more difficult for bots or whatever. This means it takes more than a click to do what use to take a single click and is unrelated to response time issues.

E.g. 6 - The number one situation that is growing ever more unacceptable is the useless servers. Skills in pve & pvp regularly take more than twice as long as documented to cast and in pvp makes game unplayable at times, but at the very least diminishes the enjoyment significantly. This has been traced specifically to the game providers h/w. It also seems a requirement to lose at least one party member every single mission in pve. This this is no fun. There is no excuse - you are either putting a game out there for sale for entertainment purposes and take responsibility for it or you are taking the money and running.

It would take some amount of convincing to show me this is not going to happen all over again with gw2. The reason for this list is if it ain't fixed, there are so many other demands on my resources than a failing franchise, that we will just move elsewhere. Do not respond with marketing hype and unsubstantiated claims. Get a clue and demand more value for your dollar and respect for your time. The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk • contribs) at 13:51, 20 September 2008 (UTC).

So.....exacly what does this have to do with GW2? User Sensical Measures Sig.pngSensical Measures 03:55, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
If the glitch/bug doesn't affect PvP they won't fix it. Vili User talk:Vili 22:10, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Whee, WoT?
1) Yes, they should fix the chests that get mission NPCs stuck on them. I doubt this shit will occur in GW2, tho. They might just /jump or something, since there's now a Z-Axis (well, that's what they say!).
2) Could you tell us which Elite? Most elites are nerfed because they are overpowered, so I guess yours was. There's always a reason it is nerfed/changed. Look further than RA, and check out what is considered important by ANet (or moreso Isaiah). These things are: HA, GvG. HA not that much, but if there's some insane skill running rampant (say, Cultist's Fervor?), it'll be nerfed. If there's some skill edging overpowered/plain overpowered it'll be adjusted to make it a reasonable skill (or it's nerfed to death ala Smiter's Boon. Ha ha).
2.2) If all the devs preferred Monk, Smiting would still suck many balls and get teabagged daily by Prot. Why? Because Smiting is supposed to suck. Armor ignoring damage shouldn't be strong because it's hardly prottable, thus powerful. That's why Conjures are not a separate packet anymore (RoF-killer kills RoFs. Swords wouldn't proc SBond thus they could easily get someone down unless it;s Infused. Good joke) and Strength of Honor has a recharge.
3) ...What? Really, I cannot figure out what you've been smoking there. It makes no sense at all >.>"
4) Then be better. My heroes function just fine. If they do not "respond" to forcecasts, you're probably lagging. That answer also goes for 5 and 6, really. When a skill takes "longer to cast" you're either SLOWED DOWN *sounds of impending doom*, or your connection isn't as steady as you claim it to be. If PvP is not possible for you because you plain and simple lagg, don't play. PvP is played daily by, what, thousands of people and they seem to do fine PBlocking me on 3/4 casts. Why? Because they have a steady connection and don't lagg as bad as you do (and have good reflexes, to boot). They won't bash a skill on luck in hopes they're PBlocking the Prot Monk, and Monks don't randomly Infuse cause they cannot see shit. They Infuse when they feel a target is being spiked. They notice that and respond properly, without having minutes of lagg like you. Even if you had a 10x better cable from your provider, the connection to ANet is what matters, not the connection you can theoretically attain with your cable. If a train has a max of 50 miles/h (just an example...), and the track can hold trains soaring 130 miles/h, would the train go 130 miles/h? No, because it just can't go faster than 50. The connection between you and ANet sucks and thus you lagg. 5.1) (5.2 is explained above if you didn't notice yet) Some items have been altered over the times, like Dyes. Old Dyes, which also have a different dye-effect, will not stack with the new dyes. Just use the old items first and you won't get multiple stacks of the item in question. Also, a Stack won't go beyond 250. Ever thought about that? 6.2) (6.1 is above) If one player drops per mission, it might be because you're lagging, thus being late to the party everytime and generally not being useful. Or the party en whole just is complete trash, thus people /ragequit. There's not much you can do about it, except just taking Heroes and Henchies (they don't suffer from Lagg nor do they suffer from a brain).
My conclusion is; Have a nice day. --- Ohaider!-- talkpage 13:29, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

I play guild wars over WoW for a reason...actually 2 reasons

Well first off guildwars is an amazing game but the way Guildwars 2 is being illustrated to me makes it sound a lot like WoW. First off I totally do not approve of paying a montly fee, thats what was so attractive about guildwars in the first place, I believe that will be the deciding factor if current guildwars players want to buy the second one or not. My last concern would be the new graphics, I know many people who hate the cartoony look of World of Warcraft, and myself in particualr. I hope to god with these new races and such that the realistic imaging of the game stays with us. My other concerns have been voiced by other people, such as mounts, and the guildwars team has taken care of jumping and swimming, I expect this game to be amazing but in all honesty I'm not sure I would purchase it if it had a monthly fee. The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk • contribs) at 16:22, 18 October 2008 (UTC).

I doubt the Asuran will be some pixelated bunch of polygons in GW2 ala Night Elf, all of the sudden. Infact, they'll probably be less pixelated, and with some smoother movement (they have titanium plates screwed in their backs on GWO >.>" ). Same goes for the rest. GW2 won't radically change it's art direction. --- Ohaider!-- talkpage 09:23, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

I really don't get it why did some people want monthly fees :S 19:14, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

If you such a cryin bitch about gw2 dont purchase it and stick with gw1 --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User: (talk) .

Certain people wanted monthly fees because: 1. Unlike me, they have enough money to keep 5 MMO's and have enough left over for an xbox 360, a ps3, and a bluray player. 2. They think the game will be better if the developers get more of their money. 3. They have some other equally stupid reason not listed above. -- 05:17, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Completely agreed with you.I am sick of MMORPG's who have monthly fees,Warhammer is the worst MMORPG I have played and it has monthly fees.WoW has taken a lot of my money for 4 months of playing only.So no thanks.ANet is really fair company and they are thinking of those ppl who don't have enough money to pay for game every month. 11:19, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Your suggestions aren't that viable for the exeption that some humans might have hid some Tengu away somewhere on Cantha or shipped them somewhere or more mursaat may have been created from their unknown creator and homeland. I am ok with the races announced already but i would like more races after the release of GW2 - Giant Nuker 17:56, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Less titles plz

If Arenanet is going to have titles in the game can they be kept to the minimum please. Titles that work in rythme with the game are nice but there are just so many in Guild Wars which are nothing more than grind titles that painfully drag on the game, making it less fun and more like a chore. Just my thoughts -- 23:03, 23 November 2008 (UTC)

Optional content which has no impact on gameplay (minus title skills and other negligible things) is optional. 08:59, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Titles are just fine for me if there's actually something else to do in PvE. In GW1 I spent a lot of time title hunting, I seriously doubt I'd have done it if there was some else PvE activity, raids, elite areas etc. for example. About PvP titles, I think they're just fine. It's nice to see how experienced players you're playing with. Dan Ops (Dan Ops - talk) 16:06, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Titles are a good idea, but the way they're made in GW1 is horrible. They're simply horrible. I really hope they will make it better in GW2, if they're making it at all. -- 14:28, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Totally agreed with you,I would really like to see that in gw2. 10:13, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

mounts are cool but mountalbe pets thats just retarded 6:29, 17 March 2009

Support Pets

I'd like to see support pets. Melee classes get a pet that gets in close with the player. Casting classes get a pet that aids their casting abilities. i.e. Melee grabs agro for tanking, casters faster casting with lower damage, slower casting with higer damage. So everyone keeps talking that GW2 is going to be so much different than OGW...can someone list me the bigest and most important differences? Lord Vallern 04:57, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Because we know so little about how they're doing what they're doing it is hard to say for sure which of the changes will change the GW2 gameplay the most, y'know? The big changes seem to be that they're adding a persistent world, changing the level cap, adding races, revamping skill mechanics (amongst a host of other things like a new PvP mode, changes to weapon and armor use, the suggestion of a shift towards more soloable content, new PvE shard-wide events ... ). Any of these things could radically change how guild wars "feels" to play, or not if they're implemented in what I'll say is a 'guild wars' sort of way. But like I said already - we just don't know and ArenaNet are being quite tight-lipped about it all. --Aspectacle 05:32, 4 February 2009 (UTC)

Anet should sell gold

I think Anet should sell gold when guild wars 2 comes out. Then there will be no more bots and gold farmers and Anet will be able to control the price of gold sold online. I know what you thinking, its not fair to the people who are earning money the old fashion way in game. That is true but really if you think about it there are always going to be gold sellers and people that buy from them so Anet should just take control and eliminate gold farming bots once and for all. Plus the revenue from selling gold will be going to Anet to support game development and not some bot farm in Romania.

This would probably blow up the economy. Gold buying is illegal and people are banned for it. Point.
If ANet legalises buying money, anything expensive will be retardedly expensive for anyone casual who doesn't buy money. --- Ohaider!-- talkpage 13:03, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
I don't realy see much gold buying in GW, you don't get good because of the amount of gold you have, you can be as good as someone with loads more gold than you, because GW is a skill based games. Level based games (WoW, RunEscape, Everquest, etc) have more of an issue, as you do need lots of gold to get the best stuff. RT | Talk 16:18, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
There is no differnce between max level armor/weapons that you can buy in a town to elite armor/weapons other than looks. So really the amount of money you have doesnt affect your ability to play the game. People with a lot of money may look better than you or have the coolest mini's but in the end it doesn't really matter as far as game play goes. When it comes to PvP how much money you have has little baring anyways so I think Anet should consider this option. Part of "gameplay" is getting the cool stuff, tbh/imo. They're part of the game (well, I presume so! *lol*), and not being able to afford them without spending more money than you already have, or another aeon of time would just be balls. --- Ohaider!-- talkpage 14:13, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

actually the way u look does play some roll in pvp. When i make a pvper for a random team fight, like RA/JQ/FA and 1vs1 Skirmishes, they look as nerdy as possible to make the person think "this is some total noob".--Justice 06:06, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Pre/post Searing

The whole concept of this game seams to be based on the pre/post searing thing. Save presearing only to loose it. Now (250years later) Re-win it. The Charr Invasion = The Dragons Awakening --Justice 21:09, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Not sure if we are going to re-win Ascalon. Its all Charr Lands now. Of course one of the Major cities is on top of Rin. As for Humans ever taking back Ascalon, I find it doubtful. Cut the losses and stick with Kryta. AS Pyre said "Yes, mouse. Your people will retake their homeland...when they can eat ash and sleep in flame." Dero Ahmonati 18:32, 22 May 2009 (UTC)

I don't know how close the land that once was Ascalon will look like Pre-searing Ascalon in GW2. I'm sure the crystals and some patches of ash will still be there. As for humans retaking it, I find it next to impossible. All that's left of Ascalon that hasn't merged into Kryta is Ebonhawke, which is far too small to conquer half of the Charr Homelands in GW2. -- Konig Des Todes 03:42, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

yeah that is exactly what i was saying...--Justice 10:09, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

My personal hope is that they will make retaking Ascalon a factions style war, each side taking some towns back and forth, but neither one ever actually winning. The very mention of the possibility of returning rurik's sword to Ascalon City means that it should at least be a quest, if not a mjor story line. As for Ebonhawke being too small, they could have an asura gate and get resupplied/reinforced by the ascalonians in Kryta. 250 years is plenty of time for the ascalonian settlement to turn into a major city. (Satanael 16:41, 27 May 2009 (UTC))

Honestly i think ascolon should stay with the charr. What i would like to see is humans repopulating orr, or some story line in orr, seeing as it was rarely spoken of in GW1.

Ebonhawke will be supplied by an Asuran Gate Lord Caeliat 03:36, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

What will happen to GW1?

What will happen to it? Will they shut it down like Tabula Rasa or something?Bazooka56

I can't remember where they said it, but they've said that the GW1 servers will remain up and running with "regular" updates. 13:20, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
ah, it's in the FAQ 13:22, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
