Dialogue[edit]
- In Kessex Hills
- Welcome to the high-speed world, <Character name>! This course, Kessex Corner, is a quick sample to let rookies practice checkpoints and hairpin turns.
- The essence of fast rolling is that your beetle speeds up going downhill and slows down going uphill. Avoid obstacles or rough terrain if you can, and conserve your momentum.
- What of I have a need to go really fast?
- When you've got to go fast, you can expend your beetle's stamina to perform a high-velocity boost. Careful though—your turning ability will suffer for a few seconds.
- I feel faster already. Let me ask you something else.
Sounds simple. Let me ask you something else
How can I go faster?
- The checkpoints are holographic circles that will light up to show you the course. Try it out to get a feel for how they show the direction of the course.
- Sounds simple. Let me ask you something else
Tell me more about checkpoints.
- The tighter a turn, the harder it is to keep your speed up coming out of it. The secret technique? Drifting!
- When you're rolling at high speed, hold back on the saddle as you begin to turn. You'll lose traction and slide, setting up a dynamic cornering maneuver!
- Sounds effective. Let me ask you something else.
How do I drift?
What's difficult about turning?
- That doesn't sound too hard, I'll try it.
- In Brisban Wildlands
- Welcome to the high-speed world, <Character name>! This course, Tropic Valley Raceway, tours the entirety of the Wildlands—it'll test not just your acceleration, but your endurance and speed management.
- Most racers try to go from checkpoint to checkpoint by the shortest route, but watch out for foliage—some of those shrubs have deep roots and will block your beetle.
- All right, I think I'm ready for this.
Any other advice you have for this track?
- Thanks, I think I've got this handled.
- In Diessa Plateau
- Welcome to the high-speed world, <Character name>! This course, Ghostfire Run, is a cross-country sprint along the plateau—you'll need to keep your speed up between the turns.
- Most of the track is long straightaways suited to acceleration, but the midpoint has a series of corners and jumps. Don't get caught off guard.
- All right, I think I'm ready for this.
Any other advice you have for this track?
- Thanks, I think I've got this handled.
- In Gendarran Fields
- Welcome to the high-speed world, <Character name>! This course, Lakeside Loop, takes you for a leisurely roll across the fields, but ends with a long jump—keep your boost ready.
- There's another unique feature here: a water section! At high speeds, your beetle can skip over deep water—try making a small hop before the water to keep as much speed as possible.
- All right, I think I'm ready for this.
Any other advice you have for this track?
- Thanks, I think I've got this handled.
- In Mount Maelstrom
- Welcome to the high-speed world, <Character name>! This course, Infernal Leap, isn't for the feint of heart—it'll take you into Mount Maelstrom itself for a daring stunt jump over lava.
- Once you enter the volcano caves, visibility will be limited. Use the angle of the checkpoints ahead to plan your turns, and keep a boost ready to speed up once you're back on a straightaway.
- All right, I think I'm ready for this.
Any other advice you have for this track?
- Thanks, I think I've got this handled.
- In Snowden Drifts
- Welcome to the high-speed world, <Character name>! This course, Jormag's Fang, is short, but tricky—after an initial climb, you'll be faced with a series of corners.
- Be judicious about using your boost—use it too late before a turn, and you won't be able to make the corner.
- All right, I think I'm ready for this.
Any other advice you have for this track?
- Thanks, I think I've got this handled.
- In Hoelbrak during Dragon Bash
- Good to see your face around here, <Character name>! I hope you'll join us for a race. You can use any mount on the course, but some might be better suited than other. Those corners sneak up on you!
- You bet! I like to set the pace to keep things exciting. Think you can keep up?
- You'll be eating my dust.
Are you racing?
- Thanks, I think I got this handled.
Trivia[edit]
- Likely a reference to Racer X from the anime "Speed Racer".
- He bears a striking resemblance to Lord Faren, but their true relationship remains unknown.
