Walkthrough[edit]

Player will participate by interacting with Chef Wardrobe. Your goal is to fetch correct ingredients. It's similar to Mastery challenge Pot of Soup. One huge difference is that you sometimes need to grill or chop the ingredient.

Once you start the event, the Chef will yell out a sentence containing the key component he wants to be thrown at him. In the second sentence, he will specify if he wants to grill it, chop it or just take it whole. After you get the correct ingredient and modify it as needed, you need to throw it at him using skill 2. He will wander around the kitchen during the event, so make sure you target him while he is standing still.

In action-cam mode you must aim for his feet, not his body, for the game to register the throw. Move the cursor slightly below him so that he'll still be marked. You can see how much time is remaining by the Timed.png Sous-Chef Challenge effect.

For people who don't speak English or have troubles with understanding, try to focus on the single word. You don't need to know full sentence. Find that one ingredient in the sentence and bring it. In the second part focus on words grill and chop. If he uses them in any form, it's a signal for you to grill it or chop it. Otherwise, don't do anything to it.

Skills[edit]

The second skill is only available after you pick up the requested food.

Head Chef Mellitus: You! Hey, you wanna be my sous-chef for a bit? C'mon it'll be a learning experience! Grab an apron and let's get goin'!
Head Chef Mellitus: All right, chefs! Tie up your aprons and fix your silly hats – it's time to make some grub!
Head Chef Mellitus: What are you waiting for? Grab an apron and gimme some help!
After interacting with Chef Wardrobe
I'd appreciate the help if you have time to prepare ingredients for me.
Talk more option tango.png What can I do?
I'll call out an ingredient. Chop it, grill it, or toss it to me whole depending on how I ask for it. Interested?
Talk ready option.png Let's do this!
Talk end option tango.png I don't have time now.

Event start
Head Chef Mellitus: Hey, you look great. So, here's the deal: lots of hungry charr, not a lot of time to cook.
Head Chef Mellitus: I say an ingredient, just toss it over. Might need it chopped or grilled, too. Just pay attention. You'll do fine.
Ingredient dialogue
Cactus Meat
Head Chef Mellitus: This needs a crunch. Cactus. Yeah, definitely cactus.
Head Chef Mellitus: Okay, a bit of cactus should be perfect right now.
Spiky Fruit
Head Chef Mellitus: You know what this needs? Spiky fruit. I knew the answer, I was just testing you.
Head Chef Mellitus: Spiky fruit. It'll give it some tang. Some punch!
Marinated Shark Meat
Head Chef Mellitus: I need some shark meat. Stuff cost me a fortune!
Head Chef Mellitus: That shark meat's been marinating for days. Let's get it prepped!
Shiverpeak Salmon
Head Chef Mellitus: Shiverpeak salmon's just what this crowd needs. Coals are hot – let's do it!
Head Chef Mellitus: My mentor learned a great recipe for Shiverpeak salmon in Thunderhead Keep. Let's get that going.
Coconuts
Head Chef Mellitus: This needs something exotic. Coconut? Definitely coconut. Good idea!
Head Chef Mellitus: Charr cubs love coconut. Who'd have guessed, right? Good thing I brought a bunch!
Slab of Boar Meat
Head Chef Mellitus: Gimme a big ol' slab of boar meat. Our hunters bring in only the finest cuts!
Head Chef Mellitus: Let's add some fresh boar meat, straight from the hunting grounds!
Chicken Stock
Head Chef Mellitus: I gotta pep up the base. You know what that means: chicken stock. Loads of it!
Head Chef Mellitus: Now just need to add some chicken stock and reduce. Toss some over here!
Secret Sauce
Head Chef Mellitus: It's time. Fetch me the secret sauce!
Head Chef Mellitus: I've done all I can. Time for the big guns. Get me the secret sauce!
Flour
Head Chef Mellitus: Almost got it. Just need to hit it with some flour to get the consistency right.
Head Chef Mellitus: Ahhh, this is too thin now! Toss me the flour, we'll thicken it right up.
Vegetables
Head Chef Mellitus: Ahhh, you know what? Vegetables! I forgot the vegetables! Get me some!
Head Chef Mellitus: Okay, I need to add the vegetables now, so they're cooked in time with everything else!
Apple
Head Chef Mellitus: One apple. Yeah, that'll do the trick!
Head Chef Mellitus: You know, an apple would be perfect for this. Knew a charr who couldn't get enough of 'em. Ah, memories.
Honey
Head Chef Mellitus: Needs a touch of sweetness, and I can't add myself. (laugh) Toss me the honey, would ya?
Head Chef Mellitus: Ascalonian bees makes the best honey. Just a fact, really. Let's get some in here.
Water
Head Chef Mellitus: Need some water! Not for the dish, this one's for me.
Head Chef Mellitus: Ahhh, no! It's gettin' too thick. Toss me some water, fast!
Requests grilling
Head Chef Mellitus: Grill it up for me. Gotta get those sear marks.
Head Chef Mellitus: And make sure you toss it on the grill first!
Head Chef Mellitus: Give it a quick sear on the grill.
Requests chopping
Head Chef Mellitus: Chop that sucker up good!
Head Chef Mellitus: And make sure you chop it up!
Head Chef Mellitus: Chopped up to bits!
No modification
Head Chef Mellitus: Gimme the whole thing!
Head Chef Mellitus: Don't do anything to it, I need it whole!
Head Chef Mellitus: Just toss it over whole, would ya?
Incorrect ingredient
Head Chef Mellitus: This isn't the right ingredient! Hurry back and get me what I asked for!
Event success
Head Chef Mellitus: Magnifique! Nice work, chef! We make a pretty good team. You ever want a career change, just let me know!
Head Chef Mellitus: Perfect! Keep up the good work, chef!
Event failure
Head Chef Mellitus: Ugh. See, this is what happens when you've got too many cooks in the kitchen. We'll get it next time.
