Dialogue[edit]
- (If norn)
- May Raven—and the Durmand Priory—watch over you. What brings you here today?
- (Otherwise)
- May Kormir—and the Durmand Priory—watch over you. What brings you here today?
- (If in the Durmand Priory)
- I'm between missions. And you?
- I'm here to gain an audience with Knut Whitebear. The Priory wishes to excavate Lake Mourn. We have evidence that some of the original settlers sank important pottery there.
- Pottery?
- We suspect they painted their pottery with images of Jormag, and our hope is that the paintings will give us a clue to the dragon's weak spot.
- Do you know where to look?
- It will be a long and cumbersome project. By now, the pottery will have been buried under feet of silt. It may not have survived. But, we must look, and we need Whitebear's permission.
- I see. Good luck.
- Good luck.
- Good luck.
- (If not in the Durmand Priory)
- You're with the Priory? Can I ask you about it?
- Ask away.
- What is the Durmand Priory?
- We're an organization dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, both ancient and modern. Knowledge of the past leads to wisdom in the present, and that shapes our future.
- I have another question.
- That's interesting. But I must be going.
- What is your mission in the Durmand Priory?
- Currently, my mission is to find any ancient knowledge that will help us defeat the Elder Dragons. I've traveled across Tyria, hunting through ruins, for anything that might give us a leg up.
- I'd like to ask something else.
- That's interesting. But I must be going.
- What is the history of the Durmand Priory?
- Ah, that is quite a tale. Do you have time to listen? Or would you prefer we talked about something else?
- I'd like to hear the history of the Durmand Priory.
- In his day, a great Krytan scholar named Durmand compiled a true and honest history of Tyria. This began long before the Orrian flood, before the city of Lion's Arch sank.
- And?
- He built a monastery on the cliffs of the southern Shiverpeaks, so high above the flood waters that it survived the Orrian flood.
- What happened next?
- Durmand's monks, scholars, and scribes took it upon themselves to save as much Krytan and Ascalonian knowledge as they could. If they hadn't, it would have been lost.
- And?
- Since then, members of the Durmand Priory continue to collect knowledge about Tyria's long-forgotten history and legends. We also document current events for future generations.
- I have another question.
- Thank you for sharing, but I must be going now.
- I have another question.
- I have to go. Good-bye.
- I have another question.
- I have to go. Good-bye.
- I have another question.
- I have to go. Good-bye.
- Yes, something else. I don't have time for long-winded tales.
- I need to go back to what I was doing. Farewell.
- Where is Durmand Priory headquarters?
- The Durmand Priory is in the southern Shiverpeaks. It occupies a great cliff to the southwest, near Lornar's Pass and overlooking Lion's Arch.
- I'd like to learn more about the Durmand Priory.
- Thank you. Farewell.
- (If haven't joined an order)
- I'd like to join the Durmand Priory.
- We have our eye on you <character name>, trust me. But, your time is not yet here. When you're ready, you will know.
- Okay.
- I'm just passing through.
