Kane was an explorer from Ascalon who was hired by Curator Ruras along with Chessa and Larano to act as a guide for an expedition to find ancient Elonian artifacts for the Ascalon Athenaeum museum in Rin. He, along with the rest of the expeditionary crew, died from the sulfur in the Desolation. Post-death, they were hunted by Margonites, and later by Palawa Joko's ghost eaters. After Nightfall, the group had settled in the Lair of the Forgotten with other lost souls.

Dialogue[edit]

(only if Junundu Rising has finished)
Hey there! We're baiting junundu. Want to help?
(only if Junundu Rising hasn't started yet)
My comrades and I keep watch around here. We've got eyes on the Awakened and Forged, and even the junundu.
Talk more option tango.png Wouldn't it be better to mount an offensive?
We're ghosts, so time is our ally. I'd rather let our enemies dig themselves into a war on two fronts than try to fight one ourselves.
Talk more option tango.png Is there anyone else I should talk to?
Dunkoro and Godaj, if you're after tales. Agent Issa just showed up. The girls will rope you into their schemes if you let them, and don't get me started on Ruras.
Talk back option tango.png I know you're busy, but one more thing?
Talk end option tango.png Happy hunting.
Talk more option tango.png What are those forts overlooking the ravines?
Those would be the siege camps. I miss the old days, when junundu and giants roamed freely. But there's one thing I don't miss: Margonites.

Talk end option tango.png Happy hunting.
(always available)
Talk more option tango.png What's a junundu?
Giant sand wurms that roam the sulfur fields. These things will swallow you whole and spit you out like siege rocks...if you're lucky.
(only if Junundu Rising has finished)
Talk more option tango.png How do you lure them?
That sly old snake Vissh Rakissh set up sulfur lures, and showed us how to use them before he passed on. I never thought they'd be so handy.
Talk back option tango.png I know you're busy, but one more thing?
Talk end option tango.png Happy hunting.
Talk more option tango.png Do I want to know what happens if you're lucky?
Would you believe the heroes who thwarted Nightfall let the junundu swallow them? That's how they rode across the Desolation. The wurms spit them out on the other side.
Talk back option tango.png I know you're busy, but one more thing?
Talk end option tango.png Happy hunting.
Talk more option tango.png That sounds safe.
Oh, right—I forgot they can hurt you. When you've been a ghost long enough, it's hard to remember what being alive was like.
Talk more option tango.png If you're not in danger, why go to all this trouble?
Well, the Awakened are a problem. Joko would rather destroy what he can't have, so he sends his ghost eaters after us. If you see one, kick it to bits for me.
Talk back option tango.png I know you're busy, but one more thing?
Talk end option tango.png Happy hunting.
Talk more option tango.png What's your story?
I'm from Ascalon. Ruras hired me, Chessa, and Larano as guides so he could play treasure hunter. He still thinks we work for him, which would be hilarious even if he hadn't gotten us killed.

Notes[edit]

Gwwlogo.png The Guild Wars Wiki has an article on Kane.
  • His dialogue options depend on whether Junundu Rising meta has taken place: before the event starts, players will have three options to choose from, after the event only two. However, within the second option, players will have two options after the event, not just one as prior. The initial text in the dialogue box differs as well.
