Hai[edit]

I like what you did with the first one, though I had some suggestions.

  • Make the (list) link more obvious. At first my suggestion was going to be "Add a link to the list of skills." It's that subtle. I suggest the little square used in the bottom one. While it wasn't too obvious either, it made me curious as to what it was and made click it, making it work for what it was meant to do. At first I thought the (list) thing was for a list of rangers or something :/
  • put Single target attack in the same section as Weapon skill -> Shortbow and leave the bottom section just for the animation. Remember the animation is going to be a square, and if left like it is right now, I think it would look something like
                    -----------------

Singletargetattack| |

-----------------

Just my thoughts --~~Ѧrtѧxϵrxϵs~~ 18:21, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Currently, animations are linked to on the page, but they are not shown on the actual skill page. Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 18:25, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Really? Then another suggestion wold e for animations to be shown on the page rather than linked to. --~~Ѧrtѧxϵrxϵs~~ 18:28, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
I adjusted the skill list suggestion in my Sandbox, it may still be too subtle, but it's a mechanic people will more easily identify. As per Aqua, currently we link to skill animations. In the future we might decide to add them to the skill infoboxes, but they may possibly also be in a seperate box underneath the infoboxes. We can't format what we have no grasp on yet. Of course. Any better now? - Infinite - talk 15:50, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

First box[edit]

I like it, but the left justification and odd notes/trivia squishing make it not so appealing. I'm also worried about the way in which long descriptions and acquisitions will affect the box. I would do something similar just without the description or acquisition in the right-justified box and the trivia below the notes. I'm just rambling and don't really know how that will work either. –~=Ϛρѧякγ AHHH! (τѧιк) ←♥– 05:41, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

It's a Work In Progress, so stay tuned! ;P - Infinite - talk 13:03, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Ranger Shortbow skills[edit]

In case people are wondering, the idea is that tables are aligned depending on resolution, not static as it is now. Help? :( - Infinite - talk 15:29, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

File:User Infinite sandbox example.jpg There you go. - Infinite - talk 15:38, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Some random thoughts on your infobox[edit]

I must say I quite like it, actually; it's a very elegant solution to the whitespace between the infobox and the rest of the page on higher resolutions which can be seen on other skill page layouts, such as the weird one below it. ^ ^ The only problem I've got is that the traits and especially the acquisition lists will, as time goes by, probably get pretty large and unwieldy and might ruin the design. The acquisition (or part of it) could be hidden by default, but the traits shouldn't. Also, but that is really minor, the name area is pretty small, so a skill name like Glyph of Elemental Storage wouldn't fit in much; anyhow, I think the name label should definitely be vertically aligned to the middle. But despite these small things, great work! User Loquay Sig.png 16:26, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! Yes, everything is still very alpha-ish, and the biggest issue is the fact that I can't get the tables to align in their actual sizes. The idea is that, if the resolution cuts into the next table, it automatically jumps to a new line (like with userboxes). This doesn't work yet, which is my primary concern. The traits can be icon-based, or have to be re-done, depending on how many traits will affect the skills.
Appreciate the feedback immensely! =] - Infinite - talk 16:32, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
It's quite easy if not centred: you only have to engulf each table in <div style="float: left;">...</div> tags and place them one after another. No idea how to force them to centre then, though... User Loquay Sig.png 11:45, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Thank you very much! Lost in all the coding makes me forget how easy it can be sometimes! - Infinite - talk 14:49, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Your weapon-based skill article WIP[edit]

I have to say that it is very nicely done in my opinion (: Wapakalypse 16:49, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Why thank you. I think I should continue its development soon, then. =] - Infinite - talk 17:06, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm not fond of having all skills from a weapon in the same article, but I really like your skill infobox. I would make a few changes (increase the height of the skill icon so it has the same height of the rest of the infobox, add some text to the cell at the left of the one with energy cost and recharge so it's not empty), but I like it significantly more than the other options. It has a modern look (unlike the GW1W infobox, which looks too simple) yet isn't as confusing as the other infobox proposal we have here). Erasculio 12:31, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Like this:
I'm not sure the table with the skill name is exactly the same size as the table with the description, but I think you get my meaning. Erasculio 12:42, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the feedback! I think it's high time I did update this design, now that I got 1/8 skillbar templates up and running (partially). I'll toy around with it today. :) - Infinite - talk 12:52, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
I can already elaborate on the list of shortbow skills: This is not GW1, there's only 5 shortbow skills for the ranger. ;) - Infinite - talk 13:31, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Chrome says hi, I doubt this skill infobox is viable. :< - Infinite - talk 15:25, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
? Erasculio 16:02, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Exactly, in FF it's 1 big rectangular. :P - Infinite - talk 17:44, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Ah... It's not, not exactly at least. But to say the truth I'm not really worried about the combination of five infoboxes, or even of a single infobox with the traits window and the tiers window; I really like the rest, and I'm wondering if we could implement that for each skill instead. The Ele skillbar sandbox template looks promising[edit]

The revised skill bar looks great. I hope König (User:Konig_Des_Todes/Template/Character2) will replace that in his character template (which is currently using this one: User:Infinite/Template:Skills ) --Gorani 18:05, 20 September 2011 (UTC)

It (and the other 5 professions of that time) used to work, until the GW2W had a software upgrade. After that they all broke down and now this remaining skill bar jumps down a few pixels on the other 3 attunements and breaks completely on Chrome. I am currently not sure as to what I will do with it. :\ - Infinite - talk 18:53, 20 September 2011 (UTC)
