"Deep in our hearts you will live again."

Norn warrior Eadgyth Greyedge is a member of the Vigil, Champion of the Big Brawl, Slayer of Issormir, Berserker's Fate, and so on, but most importantly, the leader of the recently founded Verfolger Company. She is also a member of the Seraphim and a renowned weaponsmith and Mist Warrior.

Background[edit]

When I was still a cub, I had a vision. A Spirit of the Wild spoke to me and offered its guardianship. That spirit was Raven. Clever and wise, he guides us with truths that others fear and bestows a far-seeing clarity of mind. In my visions he spoke of riddles and opened my eyes to secrets that few others can see.

Eadgyth was born in Zephyr 44 1299, to a couple of hunters, Eadwyn Fjordrunner and Hod Frostcleaver, in Snowden Drifts. Her parents, having grown up in the Far Shiverpeaks and fled Jormag's destruction to the south, were greatly influenced by the defeat of their people and this in turn affected Eadgyth (and many other norn children born at that time), especially in her childhood.

Eadgyth's mother Eadwyn was one of the finest hunters and beastmasters in the mountains, and her father a legendary warrior of the last generation. However, one day (around 1318), Hod went missing during a task for the guild Archivists' Sanctum, and Eadwyn and Eadgyth went to look for him in the Southern Shiverpeaks. Their journey ended in a disaster; though Eadwyn managed to track down her husband, the family got in a fight with a great frost wurm which they defeated at the cost of Eadwyn's life.

Since then, Eadgyth's adventures have been great and many, both in the Shiverpeaks and in the lowlands. At some point, according to her own telling, she got involved with an ancient threat, more dangerous than that of the Elder Dragons, but hidden, and thus created the Verfolger Company to fight against it. Though she does not claim so, the rumor has it that she and fellow Seraphim member Trisha Gast put an end to the unstoppable berserker, a monster of darkness which had harassed the western foothills of the Shiverpeaks for some time.

Appearance[edit]

I wear no helm at all on the battlefield. Because of this I am recognized and given proper respect.

Eadgyth is a tall, blonde norn warrior. Like most norn, she stands over 12 feet tall. Her skin is fair, and her eyes dark brown in color. She has the body of a trained warrior in peak condition and a deep, confident voice.

In battle, she tends to wield light, bladed arms like axes or swords, though she has a preference of two-handed weapons as well, and prefers to wear armor and clothing which does not impede movement. Eadgyth is rarely seen with a helm, and she never wears full helms.

Personality[edit]

My most important quality is that I have the necessary strength to defeat ancient foes and protect the Great Lodge.

Eadgyth owes her tenacious and prideful nature to her parents who were driven away by the ice dragon and its brood. She does not rest until her task is complete, and does not yield in a fight, though she has tasted personal defeat more than once. She tries to abide by her family's totem animal, Raven's teachings, like her mother and father, but strength and proving herself through it means and impresses her more than cunning and trickery.

Still, she is not without guile, and has a bit of a knack for strategy and can arrange brutally effective combat tactics on the fly, though her hunting skills are nowhere close to her mother's abilities. In battle, she leads by example of plunging headlong into fray, but, socially, does not hesitate to bully herself out of trouble, especially when dealing with humans or the sylvari.

Present day[edit]

At a recent celebratory moot held in Hoelbrak, I got in a fight. I've had a rival ever since I was young. He's intelligent, treacherous, and cunning. I lost our last duel, but next time we meet, I will even the score.

Eadgyth's current whereabouts are unknown, but she has most often been seen in Lion's Arch and in norn territories in the Shiverpeak Mountains.
