"Don't lose your path, or you'll regret it."

Dyrnhael is a sylvari engineer of the cycle of Dawn. His awakening was in Zephyr 78 1322. As most of sylvari, Dyrnhael has spent the last few years for the betterment of his people and other races of Tyria, making good use of his talents in craftmanship. He is known to frequently work alongside the asura guardian Nennza and the Seraphim, and is also a member of the guild Night Life (previously known as the Sanctuary) and (presumably) one of the Verfolger Company.

Background[edit]

I believe that the most important of Ventari's teachings is that all things have a right to grow. The blossom is brother to the weed. Diversity of opinion is good. Discussion is healthy. No one should be condemned simply for being different. I will stand up for the rights of all.

Since his awakening, Dyrnhael's goal has always been to end the threat of Elder Dragons. To this end he has worked and trained tirelessly in engineer's arts and various crafting disciplines. His early accomplishments include organic "Growth" armor which can repair and regrow itself, several achievements in the field of alchemy and combining various alchemagical inventions of the asura with his own innovations.

Later in 1322, Dyrnhael met with a fellow sylvari Aerdyrne of the Sanctuary and the asura Nenna of the College of Dynamics. While both Dyrnhael and Nenna have been known to be very reluctant to talk about those past events, it is known that Aerdyrne went missing and has not been seen ever since, while Dyrnhael himself had suffered grievous wounds to his lower body and since then has been forced to use an exoskeleton-like plant matter gear of his own and presumably Nenna's combined design. Following Aerdyrne's disappearing, Dyrnhael distanced himself of the Sanctuary but has been known to re-establish connections with the guild (now re-named Night Life).

According to himself, Dyrnhael has spent last two years working behind the scenes to bring the races and orders of Tyria together against the Elder Dragons. Only notable knowledge of his activities since then becomes from the interracial guild registry which states Dyrnhael joining the guild Seraphim in 1324.

Appearance[edit]

My most useful tool is my eagle-eye goggles. Nothing sees the world more clearly than a soaring eagle. These goggles allow their wearer to see just as well.

Dyrnhael possesses a slim and tall build not uncommon to sylvari male. The wounds he sustained years ago refuse to heal, and so he must continue to wear his half-organic, half-magical support gear underneath clothing. His leaf-like hair is green in color and white in glow, and his ears appear as partly open tulips, also white in color of their blossom. His eyes are sky blue and his skin dark green.

Dyrnhael often wears casually designed leather, cloth and plant clothing and armor of his own make, and prefers gear and weapons which offer ease of movement. He is also rarely seen without wearing his vision-enhancing engineer's goggles. His favorite colors are green, purple and brown.

Personality[edit]

The Pale Tree awakened me during the cycle of Dawn. Sylvari awakened at dawn are natural talkers, diplomats, and forward-thinkers. We are intimately connected with our surroundings and markedly empathic toward all, even other races.

Despite his trials, Dyrnhael has a noble reputation in all of Tyria and is almost altruistic in his dealings with others.

As a personal quirk of a kind, he is known to be far more social towards other races than his own people, always striving to build a network of friends and allies and offering his help in smallest problems and expertise in technological and alchemical issues. This has led some to think he no longer cares about his own people, but the truth of this matter remains to be seen. Though open-minded and eager to help, he is a thoughtful persona who rarely charges headlong into a conflict and has never been seen truly angered by anything or anyone.

Present day[edit]

I dreamed of a quest that calls me to action. It was a vision of the green knight. I saw a powerful knight in green armor, his face obscured by vines. He was defeated, but did not submit; was killed, but did not die. Dare I face him in battle?
