Talk:Durmand Priory

Seems like Historian Durmand should get his own GW2W page, he's important enough to have a place named after him in GW2, I'm sure once the game is released we'll know more about him that isn't strictly just GW1 stuff... Sound good? Kai Nui 23:25, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

He's dead. Long dead. Lord Belar 23:27, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
And yet he could have well done so many things after GW1 that pertain to the GW2 storyline like, I don't know, save a bunch of historical documents and have a Priory that exists to this day, maybe? Afterall, what do you do with the things that start in the GW storyline, manage to survive for 250 years, but still have some hold on GW2? I'm guessing Durmand has some post GW1 storyline and some pre GW2 storyline. Make the page or not, he's still an old guy who never made it to level 20. =/ Kai Nui 23:35, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, he's got his own page now. -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 07:59, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Concept art[edit]

who cant wait for concept art of the priory--Lord Randy 20:56, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

10 bucks says that the gw1:Temple of Grenth will be renovated into the Durmand Priory. That is, the good ol' temple with additions (probably into the cliffside that makes an inner wall). -- Konig/talk 21:21, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
10 bucks please haha--Amanda(: 19:52, 21 May 2010 (UTC)

Animal[edit]

It seem that the rock around the monastery itself looks to be a bear or wolf of somesort. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.142.167.25 (talk).

I don't see an animal of any kind... -- Konig/talk 05:15, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
Looks more to me as if they hollowed out a space under Anvil Rock to build the Priory -- 128.192.176.46 19:30, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Listing Anomaly?[edit]

Shouldn't the priory be listed under other settlements rather than human since it is a multi-racial settlement? 77.98.154.6 19:25, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

^ Agreed, but rather than repeating it every time I propose listing it under "other" or adding "multi-racial" to the settlements table. Taros 20:16, 11 April 2010 (UTC)
Disagree with how, agree with changing. Using this table, by the time the game is released, it will be huge. We'd be better off doing it like GW1W - settlements per region. So Shiverpeaks (Southern, Northern, and Far - if those names are used again), Charr Homelands (which includes Ascalon), Kryta, Maguuma (+Tarnished Coast), Crystal Desert, Orr. -- Konig/talk 00:55, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Then how about just listing it under "other" for now as a temporary thing until those tables are made? Taros 02:23, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Split[edit]

I would like to split this into two pages, one for the group Drumond Priory, and another for the location. Keeping the two of them connected at this time doesn't seem to make much sense to me, as they are two different, but related, things.--Corsair@Yarrr 03:50, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

At this time you don't know enough to know if there even will be a location named this. Don't be to eager to create pages before they're needed. Once we actually know if there even is a location named this, is soon enough to create the location page and do the split. DBZVelena | (Talk page) User DBZVelena sig.jpg 12:52, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Currently, this IS a location page. It is on the city nav and everything. We have recieved some information that his will be an actual location as well.--Corsair@Yarrr 21:18, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
I too was thinking of a split, but not between location and group. Not yet, that is. We will need to split it in the future, in which case this should turn into a disambiguation page and have a [[Durmand Priory (location)]] and [[Durmand Priory (group)]]. How I think this should be split right now I shall bring up elsewhere as it is about more than the Priory. But for this topic: We will need to split it, but not yet. We have next to no information on the group and it would be silly to do so right now. -- Konig/talk

Why should we split yet? We have to little information on the location, so far we just know where it is, nothing else. If a wiki article where made it would say: Durmand Priory is in the shiverpeaks. And then a picture of the map. --AdventurerPotatoe User A F K When Needed Potato icon.jpg - 12:00, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

In-game[edit]

I think we just had our first glimpse of the Durmand Priory (location) in-game. :) I think it's that building behind the Norn, in this picture: http://gw2screenshots.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/gw2-screenshot-ranger-reveal-008.jpg. I know it isn't a big deal, but just thought some people might like the tease ArenaNet is giving us with these subliminar messages in the screenshots. =P --217.129.133.230 13:02, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Ah! Well spotted and ty! ,,"Klumpeet",, 13:03, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Not necessarily Durmand Priory, but good find all the same. I for one think it may be, but it could also be Hoelbrak or some other Norn town. Not really any evidence to suggest that it is. --Odal talk 13:06, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
LOL yeah there is... it's shiny! ,,"Klumpeet",, 13:09, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
If only shiny was solid evidence. :p --Odal talk 13:10, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
I think it's pretty fair to assume it's not Norn architecture. It also resembles the render in the page... And you're welcome. ;) --217.129.133.230 13:32, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

Human[edit]

How exactly do we know this is a human outpost? EiveTalk 17:40, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Fix't. --Naoroji User Naoroji Golem - Green.jpg 17:54, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

the order[edit]

it may be a multi-racieal order but can u RLLY imagine a charr joining the priory? - they fit more vigil - maybe even the order of whispers The preceding unsigned comment was added by Getefix (talkcontribs).

please sign ur comments.--Icyyy Blue User IcyyyBlue Elementalist Blue.png 22:19, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Yes, actually, I can imagine some charr joining the Priory. They're not idiots. -- Konig/talk 22:46, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
My main will probably be a Charr Guardian and I will join the Priory on him. Also, given that they are the most technologically advanced race I reckon it makes perfect sense (notice I mean technologically, not magically which would obviously be the Asura). Draconik 22:36, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

Durmand vs Durmond[edit]

On the latest blog article it says; "Durmand Priory", but the image attached is named: Durmond Priory. Probably a typo, but something that some of us undoubtedly have noticed. Ge4ce-Talk-Contribs 04:09, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

It's gw1:Durmand. Konig/talk 04:19, 16 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the edits. Seems I still need to do some observations of other people's edits. Ge4ce-Talk-Contribs 04:25, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

ogden stonehealer[edit]

according to my personal story, ogden stonehealer is the only dwarf alive abocve ground - hes still alive and part of the priory Getefix 22:32, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

sorry can someone remove one? computer being stupid -.- Getefix 23:03, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
so, that little hut under the Priory IS Ogden's lair? Mystic Starfish 06:49, 31 August 2012 (UTC)

location[edit]

the location of the priory is in the lornar's pass - a level 25-40 area Getefix 11:02, 30 August 2012 (UTC)

The Durmand Priory (instance)[edit]

The Durmand Priory redirects to Durmand Priory but on the later it is linked as a page concerning the instance of the same name. So something needs to be sorted out there.
This is the text as it is now: "This article is about the order. For the area, see Durmand Priory (location). For the instance, see The Durmand Priory (instance)." Bluestone 22:05, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
