The Ox Spirit WAS mentioned, i think if u talk to egil fireteller he says something, tho i may be mixing him up with someone else. OJ Blu

Since when was there a wurm spirit/blessing-Vander
- See the link above for the spirit. There is no wurm blessing though. Cress Arvein 22:33, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- " the Ox Spirit was unable to help them due to some issues it had to take care of" I can't even formulate a commment on this. ~ Bow 05:44, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- I imagine it is a bigger deal than just a "Had to run a few errands"... perhaps it was saving its homeland from the dragons? Perhaps it was in danger of being devoured, as apparently some other spirit had been, and had to migrate away from where the dragon now resides? We honestly don't know the details (if there are any to be known). :P --Amannelle 11:29, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- If my theory that the spirits of the wild have a connection to the gods is correct, then the Owl and Ox spirits which couldn't help are most likely related to Kormir and/or Balthazar. -- Konig/talk 00:08, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- Wait... huh? You mean to say that the spirits of the Wild ARE the gods, or are merely affected by them? --Amannelle 01:15, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- @Konig But there are more Spirits of the Wild than Gods. Plus, Owl is totally Lyssa. --76.179.156.33 02:29, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- The number is an issue, thought multiple animals can be tied to a single god - remember that (along with past gods that the spirit didn't follow the god). Just a personal theory of mine that there's some connection - Raven and Grenth being the most prominent connection. Also, Owls are shown to be animals representing wisdom in many cases, so I would think Kormir not Lyssa. -- Konig/talk 08:02, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- Kormir is totally the Wurm, neither of them have eyes. 90.206.126.31 23:47, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

- Ox, Owl and Wurm only spirits that could have been eaten, since Bear, Raven, Wolf, Snow Leapard and probably Eagle were not. Ramei Arashi 04:37, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
- I thought we were just told that the other spirits were preoccupied, where did we get "eaten" from? /sauceplz. If EoD, then page number, I don't recall anything about that. Eive 07:54, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) It was an old interview with Ree by Guru. In it she said that those 4 spirits are important due to them aiding in the norn exodus, Eagle's story is unknown, and some spirits got eaten by Jormag. HOWEVER, Ramei: You are wrong, because Ree also stated (in that interview as well, I believe) that the Ox spirit is revered still among the norn as well as other lesser spirits. We know nothing about them, but we were also told that we never knew the whole list of the Spirits of the Wild - i.e., there's far more than we know, so those/that one which got eaten could of easily been one we didn't know of. -- Konig/talk 14:00, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
so it was Nicholas & Yakkington who got norn to rever dolyak?[edit]
See Nicholas the Traveler text dialogue for Week of April 11, 2011. Ramei Arashi 21:42, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
- No. -- Konig/talk 00:01, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Doesn't actually say dolyak on that page, konig....? --Xu Davella 09:17, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- "Dolyak (also known as Ox)" <-- first line of the article. Chriskang 10:05, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you Chris. I'm thinking that the scenario is one of three possibilities: 1) Nick and Yakkington don't know enough norn faith; 2) the norn call dolyaks ox(en) thus creating a confusion between humans and norn on this spirit in the beginning of their meeting; 3) Whoever wrote this dialogue either forgot about this little fact (that is, ox is also dolyak) or it wasn't made in-house yet. -- Konig/talk 20:19, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Pronouns[edit]
As Konig pointed out, all in-game dialogue (including dialogue in the same content in which Ox has voice lines) refers to Ox with he/him pronouns. I think references on the wiki should follow suit, and we should take care not to assume that a feminine voice implies a specific gender in the future. - Felix Omni 15:51, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- That's an excellent point; if our only evidence of femaleness comes from Ox having a female voice actor, while all other references use male pronouns, then that's not enough to prove that Ox is "really" female. I'm in favor of the wiki switching to male pronouns, and to also adding a note on this article explaining the discrepancy so we don't have too many well-meaning but uninformed editors (hi) "fixing" it again in future. —Idris 16:42, 24 June 2020 (UTC)
- I've edited the article to change the pronouns, the Spanish translation also uses male gender pronouns for Oxx. I've also added a small note in the trivia section listing the information we know about the topic, humbly trying to be respectful.Warming Hearth (talk) 16:46, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

"Corrupted"?[edit]
I know in IBS it's revealed that Ox/Dolyak has been corrupted, but does this really have to go on the top of the page? It's quite a big spoiler, especially for someone who e.g. just wants to know more about Forgal's father but hasn't played IBS yet. The rest of the info on the page is provided in a careful chronological order, but it's all thrown off by the fact that there's 'corrupted' at the top. I'd suggest changing the name to simply 'Ox Spirit.' I'm aware the name of the NPC is 'Corrupted Ox Spirit,' but we could always just have 'Corrupted Ox Spirit' redirect here instead of being the actual title of the page. 174.203.49.41 19:58, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- How did you get to this article in the first place? Did you type in "ox spirit"? That's the only redirect imo that could possibly have lead you here. The corrupted bit in the page title is enough of a spoiler. The only change we could make would be to redirect Ox Spirit to Spirits of the Wild (obviously would then need to repeat on the other 2 Icebrood Saga deities; Eagle and Wolverine) -Chieftain Alex 20:23, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
