I just created this page for completeness' sake, feel free to edit, add, and fix anything I did wrong. Also, I'll leave a link to some of the screenshots I've taken of her here: http://imgur.com/a/qXVJb Cabe Wiki (talk) 02:29, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

Merging articles[edit]

As Aurene and the already existing page for Glint's Egg are about the same character, I suggest merging the two articles for simplicity's sake while leaving redirect from Glint's Egg to Aurene. I've already made tentative changes to the Glint's Egg page but can't move it to this namespace, so I hope someone else can do it instead unless there's some reason why the two articles should remain separate. :) --Kossage (talk) 02:34, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

Glint's Egg is an object, and Aurene is an NPC that came out of that object. Simple enough reason methinks to keep them seperate. - Doodleplex 02:38, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
I suggest keeping them separated for two reasons. Mechanically, Glint's Egg is either fully ambient (not an object or NPC) or an object (only during Prized Possessions). Second, this is a massive spoiler to the plot of S2 and HoT where there's the entire question of "will the egg even be safe?" floating around. Similar to how we had gw1:Prince Rurik and gw1:Undead Prince Rurik on GWW, I suggest we have Glint's Egg and Aurene as separate articles for the sake of major spoilers to two storylines. What Konig said. New players (that are interested in the story) will go through Season 2. If they want to /wiki the Egg, they'll be lead to this page, which is something we should avoid. —Ventriloquist 12:09, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
Sounds good to me! I wonder if there should be a section in the egg article under the specific "hide spoiler" template for the egg's brief involvement in Season 3 before hatching (so it'd only be about the vision it sent to the Commander who came to witness the egg hatching and then writing what happens next in Aurene's article). Likewise, I wonder if for consistency's sake the egg article should also have a link to Aurene's page later down the line (perhaps in a few weeks once the spoiler isn't so fresh anymore if that's what worries people) as there's already a link to Gleam's page. Thoughts? --Kossage (talk) 12:40, 21 September 2016 (UTC)
I already added a link to Aurene in the see also after I made my comment here, under a spoiler tag. Konig (talk) 14:30, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

Aurene's design[edit]

So, Aurene looks suspiciously close to Mordremoth. [1] The preceding unsigned comment was added by 95.91.253.80 (talkcontribs) at 15:16, 28 October 2016 (UTC).

I agree that the twisty part behind the eye is similar. Otherwise they look really different to me from there out. - Doodleplex 19:26, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
The skin around her head is bark-like, and the jaw matches Mordremoth's. That's the only similarity, and is probably meant to indicate that Aurene got some of Mordremoth's plant and/or mind magic which was hinted at in the ending of HoT and elsewhere (iirc, Taimi's stories) which said the Exalted(?) feared the magic influenced Aurene. Whether this influence is beyond appearance is a question ArenaNet obviously wants us to ponder and debate on. Konig (talk) 20:32, 28 October 2016 (UTC)

Spoilers[edit]

How long do we need to wait to drop spoilers ? End of Living World Season 4 - War Eternal was released in 2019. That is almost 2 years back now. What is the right time to consider this information to not be a spoiler anymore ? --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 07:06, 31 January 2021 (UTC)

That is not how spoilers work. —Kvothe (talk) 22:49, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
That is not how meaningfull responses work.
What Kvothe probably meant to explain is that people start the game as new players all the time and while it might not be new for everyone playing since at least the relevant release containing the spoiler - as such being aware of it for a possibly long time already - they aren't; yet. With this in mind you might find that there won't be a time where certain things can be considdered to no longer be a spoiler as they will always be one for new players not yet familiar of the story. Nightsky (talk) 23:27, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
By that logic every episode of Living Story would be considered as spoiler then. I know that everyone see this diferently but that is why Im asking. There might be hundreds or thousands of editors and every single one of them could have diferent oppinion. There should be some rules everyone should follow about this. --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 00:11, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
There are things that are under spoilers from the personal story, which are much older than Aurene. Simply: it doesn't matter how long it's been, plot twists stay under spoiler tags indefinitely, this hasn't changed for as long as I've been here and it's not changing now. - Doodleplex 16:04, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
Yes; i agree that in that sense every episode is a spoiler. And i for one do consider them spoilers as such. On the individual pages i've come to read the intro on them as a spoilers caption. It clearly states the season the episode is a part of and usually doesn't give away anything so people can still stop reading there if they don't want to be spoiled on it. On npc/summary pages they are usually positioned under a heading conviniently named after the episode so they can be easily skipped there too even if not hidden in a spoiler. In this case the transformation is already out of spoilers further down on the page and even has a picture there. I'm sure this will be the same case with the appearance thereafter once the next thing after The Icebrood Saga has commenced. Just having this in the intro is a bit difficult i would say.
Additionally coming up with a ruleset on this could be difficult. As you already mentioned there are hundreds if not thousands of editors who might all have a different opinion on this. Agreeing to a specific set of rules could prove difficult as such.
I do also agree that major spoilers - the extend of which events are considered as such can definitely vary widely between individuals - such as plot twists should remain spoilers; at the verry least in this case in the intro as there it can't easily be skipped and gives away pretty much. Minions/Branded[edit]

As we all know every Elder Dragon has their own minions. Primordus has Destroyers , Kralkatorrik has Branded, Zhaitan has Risen and so on. The only exception is Jormag with 3 groups now. Icebrood as minor minions, Svanir and Frost Legion as inteligent minions. What does Aurene has ? We as Commander, we are not branded in any way right ? We just have this special bond with her. The only person who was "branded" was Caithe. So we could say that Crystal Blooms are her "minions" on the same inteligent level as Svanirs for Jormag. But what are those minor minions then ? Could we say that she has "Prismatic" minions based on the only 2 models we have in the game ? The 2 only mounts which are "branded" by her magic ? Or is this still far of theory ? --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 15:16, 27 March 2021 (UTC)
