What is this place?

This is the Temple of the Dredge—named for the refugees who fled here from Kryta long ago, just before the return of Shiro Tagachi.

No, they only took refuge her. We're not sure who built it, but it was likely of Kurzick make, perhaps from a house that fell long ago. It's a mystery.

What is this place now?

After homing the refugees, it became a sacred place—a place where we worship the forest itself. Our devotions are equal parts joy and atonement, for all the ills humans do to the forest.

Wait, so are you members of the Speakers?

No... The Speakers, and the Wardens they follow, are complicated individuals. The woes our people have inflicted on the forest are too numerous to count. But we don't condone their violent responses.

Do you think you could ever fully atone and earn the Wardens' forgiveness?

I certainly hope so. Though it's possible it's been too long, and their hatred has crystallized like amber. But we will do our best to bring peace to the forest all the same.

It is an ancient practice. It originated before the people of this continent worshiped the gods. You connect to the mists, to channel the spirits of the ancestors.

Does it have to be an ancestral connection?

Blood connections are strong, but not strictly necessary; the Mists hold untold multitudes. There are always connections to be made and help to be found, assuming you know how to ask for it.

This path takes years of careful study, and unfortunately, I already have two students to train. I hope you're able to find instruction elsewhere.
