Introduction (0:26)[edit]

Rubi Bayer: Hey everybody. Welcome to Guild Chat, chat, Guild Chat. I am your host Rubi and this is the first episode of Guild Chat, back in the ArenaNet Studios. Thanks to all of you who joined us at TwitchCon for the first. I don't even know how many episodes of Guild Chat now. I have lost track. But we are back in for Guild Week. We are going to have four show this week. So let's get started with the first one on Guild halls. I let you guys introduce yourselves. Mckenna, you are the closest, so you can continue.

McKenna Berdrow: I am Mckenna Berdrow. I am a game designer on the guild team.

Dara Potocska: I am Dara Potocska. I do the QA for guild halls.

Darren Mason: I am Darren Mason. I am one of the gameplay programmers for guild halls.

Guild Initiative Headquarters (x:xx)[edit]

Rubi: Awesome. Thank you guys very, very much. I promise that they are not going to hurt you. Thank you all for coming on your very first livestreams. I appreciate it. All right. So why don't we start with the guild initiative headquarters. I know that players have been super enthusiastic about getting in there and some of them have already.

McKenna: Yes

Rubi: But you can do it legitimately. So McKenna, why don't you go in and show off what's in there, where it is.

McKenna: So if you guys don't know where it is. It is in the Postern Ward area of LA. Lot of people already know it's over there, but just in case.

Rubi: It is a big building.

McKenna: Yeah and now.

Rubi: So, how do you get in?

McKenna: Well first, you have to make a guild. We'll be talking about this panel in a few minutes. And then, after that

Rubi: You have the best guild?

McKenna: Obviously, my guild is the best guild. Everyone's own guild is the best guild. Yeah and now you can just walk up. You don't have to hack your way in.

Rubi: And then it loads, yeah. So, you are in. So, what's inside? Because it is gorgeous.

McKenna: Yes. Here Dara if you can

Dara: All right. So this is the guild initiative office. It is the place where guilds are going to be able to go to when they first start off and it is going to have npcs that are showcased. If you go a bit to the forward side, down that hallway.

McKenna: This one.

Dara: Yeah. So many of the upgrades that you'll be able to get for your guild hall, for the notary. You are going to have npcs that are going to be lined up within this area. You'll have guild armorers, guild weaponsmith. You'll have anvils to repair your gear at. You'll have the guild commendations vendor also inside of this room and a lot of different variations of special guild initiative npcs.

Rubi: So, you can just kind of talk to them and see what's available and what you have to work for.

Dara: Yes. Well, once you upgrade it. So actually, the upgrades that you'll be able to purchase. If you go forward to here and there is the npc that you get to talk to off to the. Yep. When you have a conversation with him, you'll be able to purchase different upgrades through him and for the notary, which in case you can get those merchants and what not for your guild. But we don't want to show those upgrades yet. So.

Rubi: You will get to see more things. Just not all at once. We don't want to completely blow your minds.

Dara: Yes. But this can be your home away from home, before you claim your guild hall. It is verily large, very spacious and quite nice looking. Jessy has done a lot of hard work in making this look quite lovely.

Rubi: Okay, just because you haven't gone through the expedition to claim your guild hall, which we'll talk about in a few minutes. You can still have a place for your guild together.

Dara: Correct.

Rubi: Okay.

Guild expeditions (x:xx)[edit]

Dara: Let's see. And for claiming your hall, there's going to be two npcs that will be offering you the opportunity to fund expedition here in your hall. And one of those npcs is Kogga, who will unlock the cave expedition for you, excuse me, the Gilded Hollow expedition for you. And then there is the Lost Precipice expedition of here with Sarah McKenzy.

Rubi: So, I ran through this earlier, so I knew what I was talking about. I ran through the whole claiming and expedition tree. And I was like really, really startled when I talked to her and she was like okay this is going to be. It is overrun by Mordrem. Your guild is going to need to take this back. It is going to be really, really hard and she just took off. I was, just wait. This is gonna suck, bye. Yeah, but she is there when you get to your guild hall. She'll meet you there.

Dara: Yeah, yeah. She clears the way for you basically. So as you go, she makes all the preparations. Like here is some money, please go out and get these supplies for us. And then boom, you show up at the expedition and she is there waiting for you to help you through.

Rubi: So I did find out the hard way that it is not so scary as it looks as she takes your hundred gold and runs away. It's okay. She is going to clear the way for you. So, when you get to that point, don't panic. Cause, I totally did. So the expedition as far as reclaiming your guild hall, it is not something we are going to go through today. Because you would be here all day long and we have way too much to show you. So I'll let you guys kind of give a really quick overview of how, what's in there and what you do.

McKenna: Yeah, so after you talk to Kogga or Sarah, you are going to have to make your way through the jungle maps and find the entrance to your guild hall. Which is actually a difficult feat in itself almost.

Rubi: Yeah. She does, she does tell you where to go to.

McKenna: Yeah, she does. But you have to make your way there. And once you are inside, you have to fight your way off various Mordrem. It's like a coordination challenge, so everyone has to work together with the guild. Also a really cool thing for this event is. We got a lot of feedback. This is a fairly momentous occasion. We want as many people in the guild to participate as possible. So it actually scales from like 5 to 200-ish right now.

Rubi: Nice.

McKenna: Yeah, so as many people as possible can like participate in this and actually be there to claim their guild hall.

Rubi: Smaller guilds can too. Thanks to scaling, yeah.

McKenna: Yeah. Yeah. So it is going to be, there is going to be more Mordrem that you have to fight off, the more people that are there basically and more coordination basically, bigger. The more people there are, the harder it is to coordinate. Since that is the main challenge about it. Some of those commanders, you just talked about a few weeks ago on here, are probably, are in there and just tons of different mobs of Mordrem.

Rubi: Yeah, they were, they were everywhere when I was running around in Lost Precipice trying to claim it for my best guild. We all think so highly of our guild.

McKenna: Yeah. Yeah.

Rubi: Yeah, I was looking around. They were really overrunning the place and there were like Mordrem vines everywhere. They did a really good job taking over that. Thanks Mordrem, that's awesome. All right, once you, once you go around and get this challenge. Your guild probably start thinking about when you guys will start claiming your guild halls. Start planning now, so you can get as many people there as you can. So once you complete this challenge then what happens.

Dara: You hold it, post-Mordrem. Obviously.

Rubi: I did tell you to save some puns for the show. You have been sitting here, waiting for that, haven't you?

Dara: Yes.

Rubi: That was amazing.

Dara: You're welcome.

Rubi: All right, what is your post-Mordrem cons-? I am going to laugh anytime someone schedule a postmortem for anything now.

Dara: Excellent.

Rubi: What is your, what is your post-Mordrem consist off?

Dara: Basically, what happens is you claim your guild hall and you go into your hall. And you get to start looking at all of the different things that you are going to be able to build. You are going to start off with the tavern. And once you finish up your tavern for your first upgrade there, you going to have the opportunity to start with your mine. And the mine is going to start generating a material that you are going to need in order to build a lot of the other upgrades in your hall. And following the mine, you get to work towards your workshop, which also opens up a plethora of really awesome upgrades. Which will also include the ability to do scribing, which is going to be a new crafting.

Rubi: Yeah.

Dara: Which what we are going to talk about later in the week.

Rubi: I am ridiculously excited about scribing. I am really, really looking forward to that one.

Dara: It is pretty awesome.

Rubi: So, all of these, I mean the Mordrem weren't exactly careful when they were stomping around. I mean you have all of these ruined building, right.

Dara: Yeah.

Rubi: Okay.

McKenna: And as you progress your guild hall, you can restore those buildings. And that is how you get a lot of these upgrades like Dara was talking about. And you will need lots of materials to actually get these building back up in shape, because.

Rubi: Yes.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: It is a good chance for your guild to pitch in and everybody. Oh gosh, thanks for pitching in. I can't not hear it anymore. But it is a good chance for all of your guildmates to start pitching materials and contributing to the guild bank.

McKenna: Yep.

Rubi: Am I right? I was kind of throwing that out there hoping. Because it seems like the point, but I deliberately remained unspoiled about of lot of this, so I could let you guys talk about it.

Dara: So you are asking about the treasury.

Rubi: Kinda.

Dara: Yes. All right. So as many of you guys know. We do already have that guild bank system, which allows all of you to donate things to your bank and share them amongst yourselves. We are also including a new system called the guild treasury. And how the guild treasury works, is that people are able to donate their items that they have been gathering and collecting and place it into a massive guild storage that will only the guild system can withdraw the items from. It will only allow you to donate materials that can be actively upgrade your hall. So, say you need one hundred apples to make something in the marketplace and maybe three of you have a couple of apples each. So all of you can go to your treasury and go, I have these apples to donate for this, here they are. And you can put these in to your item contribution, which then in turn gets donated to your treasury. And then when you go to the marketplace and you go to upgrade to get whatever this apple purchase is. The guild would go, oh this skill has this many apples in the treasury and they will directly take those apples from the treasury. So it removes the middle man in some way, so there is less people that need to be involved in holding things and then moving things over to a different location.

Rubi: Right now, the npc that gives apples in game is looking at this enormous horde of players running towards them. What is going on?

Dara: Disclaimer: there are no apples in any of the upgrades.

Rubi: This was just a good example.

Dara: Yes.

Rubi: I don't know why you didn't pick this many Farens.

Dara: Oh, I am actively pushing to get more Lord Faren into the game, especially in the hall.

Rubi: You know what. I've already seen more of Lord Faren than I actually wanted to.

Dara: Oh, there is no such thing.

Rubi: All right, so. Gosh, I need to scrub that out of my head.

Dara: Fahrenheit is going up in here.

Rubi: Oh man.

Dara: You're welcome.

Rubi: I was not thanking you. I love you, Dara.

Dara: I love you too.

Rubi: All right, so this is on the guild panel and why don't we distract ourselves by looking at the guild main panel. Oh, that is amazing.

Updated guild panel (x:xx)[edit]

Dara: Many of you will be familiar with how the guild panels currently works in the game, but we made a lot of different improvements that we hope will make your guy's lives a lot more easier and a lot more enjoy. That is not more tedious and difficult to move around the panel. One of the first things that we have done that we have changed how your account's guilds are going to be layed out. So you guys may notice that in the screen here next to the guild name we have g1, g2, g3, g4 and g5. These are actually going to be your guild channels. So as you join a guild, you will have the ability to chat with those particular guilds and you don't have to be representing them in order to be chatting in those channels. So that is some information you are going to be able to see in your account guilds. The other things is: we made it a lot easier for you to represent a guild or leave a guild or switch between your guilds. As McKenna just did there, she checkmarked the box next to her guild name, which allowed her to represent and that was all she had to do. Unchecking the box would unrepresent the guild. You notice the header of that guild if you go up one more. Right now that guild name is not highlighted within the panel, but when she checkmarks it, it will be highlighted and you will notice that she is representing. If you want to create a new guild, all you have to do is click one of the empty slots after unrepresenting and hit create new guild. And then you just be able to enter it and make a new guild like you have currently in the game. So that panels hasn't actually changed that much there. Then if you wanted to leave a guild, you don't have to actually unrepresent. All you have to do is, hit the leave guild button.

McKenna: But we are going to stay in this guild.

Dara: Yes, we are going to stay. This is the only guild we have.

Rubi: It seems pretty great.

McKenna: It is.

Rubi: But we are not going to delude ourselves. So we'll see.

Dara: So we have also created for you guys and Link is not here today to talk about. But this is something he has really, has been working really hard on for you guys, is the guild index. The guild index is going to be a guide, which helps you guys through the guild process, especially if you are new and you are not entirely certain about all the different elements that we are putting into the game. We have what we call our guild actions. Anything is a guild action is usually what we are using as a step by step. This is probably what you want to consider doing if you want to advance in your stage from making your guild and progressing it through the game. So in this case, McKenna showed off that one of steps is when you make your guild, is make your guild emblem. Oh, that's another really cool thing too is that you guys no longer need an upgrade to make your own guild emblem. The guild emblem is going to be available completely from the start. So McKenna if you click up there. She is just randomly pick an emblem

McKenna: Dragons.

Dara: Dragons, yes.

Rubi: We are all about dragons.

Dara: Yes, we are going to be adding some new emblems to the game.

Rubi: Yeah.

Dara: We had that competition recently going on. So those are in the process of being included into here. But we'll let you guys discover those when they come out.

Rubi: Nice.

Dara: They look really nice. Okay, so having completed that, you will notice that in the guild index up to the side that that emblem is no longer bold. It is now fallen down to a lower requirement or beating it. It just becomes a normal entry. Later on, if you go back and I can't remember what I'm doing, making a guild emblem. Well, all you have to do is go back to the guide and find the reference. And you can read it and continue where you left off. So, these will be going step by step through the whole process of making your guild and explaining the various functions that you might encounter.

Rubi: Nice.

Dara: Yes.

Rubi: All right. Okay, that is kind of going through guide you through, instead of being completely overwhelmed, staring at the guild panel. I have no idea what I'm doing.

Dara: Correct.

Rubi: Awesome. All right, are we allowed to peak at some of the other things that are on the left? Can we look at some of the other tabs?

Guild missions (x:xx)[edit]

Dara: So, we might show them the guild mission, because that is one of the steps.

McKenna: We can go the guild missions right now.

Rubi: Dara's like. Uh yeah, you can. Darren, are we sure?

Darren: All right, so the basic desire behind the reworked guild missions is to be more inclusive. Unlike right now, a lot of missions are kind of hidden behind a lot of other upgrades and a lot of missions types which are actually kind of hard for small groups to do. Instead we switched over to this mission slot type system, where you can see on the left hand side of the panel. They got, you can see that there is a WvW challenge, a puzzle and I guess that that is another puzzle challenge.

Dara: Challenge and then puzzle.

Darren: Okay. And you see that there is some locked icons there. Those are, one locked icon for every slot that you need to progress your guild to unlock. Hovering over them tells you why don't have it yet. And mostly it is just, you know, build up your guild hall and increase the level of your guild. But there are some other ones as well, down at the bottom you will see some other categories: WvW, PvP and PvE opportunities. And these are a bit special as they have a different way of unlocking them. But you will see that later in game. Now we also wanted to be more inclusive to. We heard a lot of feedback from guilds, saying well we don't do PvE. We only do PvP. So that is where the cog comes in. Oh.

McKenna: Back.

Darren: Uh, what just happened there?

Dara: I think it is refreshing.

Darren: Oh, we rolled over.

Dara: Yep. We did.

Rubi: Oh no.

Darren: Oh.

Dara: So close the panel.

'McKenna: All right.

Rubi: Awesome. While she is calling that up. I want to emphasize that we are starting Heart of Thorns with PvP and WvW guild missions.

McKenna: Yep.

Darren: Right.

Rubi: So, if you don't want PvE.

McKenna: There you go.

Darren: I think there is a bug. I'll need to fix that.

Rubi: You have 26 days. No pressure.

Darren: That should be enough. The basic idea here that you start off right when Heart of Thorns launches. You start off with this preference selection, which currently there is no preference. And McKenna can click on any of the other ones. Our guild only wants to do PvP and what will happen is that now all these slots are on a weekly rollover. And at the point of when the rollover happens, whatever you selected as your preference, will become the new preference for your guild and all of your missions will switch to those. Anybody, any guild that has PvP as their selection will have the same missions as the other guild that has PvP. This is, you know, to keep the playing field basically.

McKenna: It is important to know that for WvW and PvP and PvE opportunities. They always stay the same and if you have PvP selected, your WvW and PvE are still going to say, will stay as World vs World and PvE. These ones don't change at the bottom. Those will always be dedicated to those game types, but all your easy, medium and hard missions will change after the weekly rollover.

Rubi: So if you have no preference checked, is it just, you get a mix?

Darren: Yeah. You'll get a mix and we'll also give a 10% favor bonus. Favor being one of the guild currencies. So it is to encourage people to spread out and really try different things.

Rubi: So if you are open to all kinds of opportunities, you get a little favor bonus. I like that. Awesome.

Darren: And some of the other things we added to make this, to make everything as transparent as possible. There is these icons, the little chest and the crest icons on the, both in the main panel and in the long edge of the individual slots. Basically, the chests are there to indicate for a player whether or not they've received rewards for that slot this week and the crest whether the guild has received rewards that week. So that way if the guild has completed all the missions already, at least you know that you'll still get the rewards if your chest hasn't opened.

Rubi: Okay, wow. I love it. So you can see what you've done and what you still need to do. All right, who can activate this? Is it still the way it is? Just depending on what you set in your guild.

Darren: Yeah, you have permission for whether or not you can activate the missions and also now technically you can cancel the missions as well.

Rubi: But why would you really?

Darren: Oh well.

Rubi: I know the answer. I've clicked that button before.

Darren: You'll notice that there is a timer counting down right here. And this is basically, each of the missions can have a cooldown on it. So, most of the time this isn't really a big thing for people. You probably not going to cancel the mission. Once that timer reaches zero, you'll be able to restart it again. So right now, also yes, there is a warning to make sure that you don't do it accidentally.

McKenna: Are you sure?

Rubi: Abandon mission, abandon mission.

Darren: But right, now it's saying it is available in x number of seconds, so in a few minutes we'll be able to relaunch that mission. Mostly this is for the new, the way that we were doing the bounty and track mission. Where as all these other missions, you are seeing right away. This puzzle is for the Plains of Ashford. But the bounty and track are still going to work like they currently work live, where your targets are not known until you launch the mission. And we don't want people doing is just start it, stop it, start it, stop it until you get exactly the combination that you wanted.

Dara: Yep.

Rubi: I don't like 2-MULT. I'm sorry. The last time my guild drew that we spend 20 minutes apologizing to everyone in the zone. Really sorry, you guys.

McKenna: Yeah so, another important thing to talk about is there are puzzles and challenges. They are now both instance missions. Basically every week after the rollover all missions are going to point, everyone, every guild everywhere are going to have the same missions. And so everyone is going to have the same puzzle and everyone is going to have the same challenge and bounties and tracks. But bounties and tracks tweak themselves as they are randomly generated. Once you click launch mission, they will be like: here is five random targets you have to kill. But for puzzles and challenges, we want to make sure that you don't have to do guild queuing, like for. We will let this guild go and now we will go. So this way, now that they are no longer instanced, everyone can just walk up and go in instantly with their guild. Another important thing is that you can still bring other players in with you to ferry people in. So you don't have to like. It is not just your guild. You can have whoever you want to come in with you into the instance.

Rubi: Oh great.

McKenna: Yeah, so this way is, helps prevent guilds doing, like I said people having to wait around.

Rubi: Yeah.

McKenna: That you have to do with these guild missions.

Rubi: So can we give them some hints on how the PvP missions are and what the World vs. world missions are?

McKenna: Yeah, so.

Rubi: Because I have it, but maybe we can give it to them too.

McKenna: Yeah, so for PvP missions. First of all we'll go over the requirements, because there is quite a few more than for PvE. You have to be on a guild team. So that is a new thing.

Rubi: Full five?

McKenna: Three, three is the minimum. Than five is max, but some of the guild missions for PvP might require you to have more than one PvP guild team. Because there are just going to be impossible to complete unless you have like 2 people playing the missions, playing the PvP missions at the same time. So, there is four different types coming out. There is PvP conquest, which is killing players near or on capture points. So many players depending on easy, medium and hard. I guess we can just explain this too a little. Click, because we haven't seen it yet. Easy missions are geared towards same guilds, because we wanted to make sure that

Rubi: Okay.

McKenna: Yeah, we want to make sure that small guilds can still get favor. It is really important to making your guild hall and progressing. So easy will, easy is always for small guilds. And then the medium and hard kind of range, obviously in difficulty and also maybe the number of people. So like the ones I talked about where you need more than 1 PvP teams are usually the hard missions. You might, so you probably need 2 PvP teams to do this, to do these missions. There is PvP stronghold type. That one is killing the enemy lord, that is by winning the game by killing the enemy lord and summoning, summoning champions match.

Rubi: Oh nice.

McKenna: Yeah, PvP rank, that one kind of explains itself. It is just earning

Rubi: Yeah.

McKenna: Earn so many experience points or PvP rank points during the time. Because they are all timed missions. And then the last one is PvP win, which is obviously just winning different game modes. Sometimes it is just win, sometimes it is you have to win conquest or you have to win stronghold.

Rubi: Okay. I have a custom arena. I can just farm these out, right.

McKenna: No, yes. The other requirements, yes. The other requirements are that you can not do these in custom arenas at all. They are only in ranked and unranked. You have to start the mission, before you go into the map. So you can't be like. Hey, I'm winning this game mode. Let's switch to this.

Rubi: Everybody in. Yeah.

McKenna: Yeah. Or like oh we are gonna win, so I'm gonna launch this mission and then yeah we won.

Rubi: Have one guy hovering over the button

'McKenna: Yeah, exactly. So basically as long as somebody has started it and your match started after that. It will count towards the mission.

Rubi: Nice. So you have to actually earn these.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: Earn them for reals.

McKenna: Yes.

Rubi: Sweet.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: Wow, you guys thought of everything here, small guilds, cheaty players.

McKenna: Yes, that's right. Especially in PvP, they are tricksters.

Rubi: So, here is the. I actually knew the answer to that last question. I was just setting you up, because I thought it would be nice.

McKenna: Yeah, yeah.

Rubi: But what I don't know. What if you have a guild with 400 people? Can we just pick easy and then? Is there a low level requirement?

McKenna: So some of them. Let's see, I think.

Rubi: I am sorry.

McKenna: We have required players on here. There are more like. Puzzles do require 6 players. Like you cannot solve some of the puzzles without them.

Rubi: Yeah, I am thinking of the curtains and emoting.

McKenna: Yeah and we have recommended players on a lot of them as well.

Rubi: Nice.

McKenna: So you can do. As a big guild you can do easy missions if you want to.

Rubi: Okay.

McKenna: But you are not gonna earn favor as much. The difference is they give different amounts of favor. This one gives 300 and we are on random missions, so we get plus 30. Puzzles, medium gives 400 and hard gives 500. Bug. Yes, so but.

Rubi: Okay.

McKenna: So it's more beneficial.

Rubi: It's quicker to gain for bigger guild.

McKenna: Yeah, if you are a bigger guild and you can do the hard missions. You can earn favor a lot quicker. There is also a favor cap per week though. If you are, yeah so if you are a big guild you can get to the favor cap really quickly. Where as if you are a smaller guild you have to do more missions, easy, medium to get to that. And there is actually an overall favor cap as well. So this is kind of a way to make sure that everyone is kind of, like the small guilds don't feel to far left behind. Because they can.

Rubi: Right.

McKenna: They can't earn favor as quickly as bigger guilds can.

Rubi: Yeah, okay. So how about the World vs. world challenges?

McKenna: Yeah so, the requirements. I saw this post on Reddit where everyone was like it's going to be Edge of the Mists. You cannot do World vs. world challenges, missions in Edge of the Mists. So.

Rubi: Okay, so it's not going to be all Edge of the Mists. It's not going to be any Edge of the Mists.

McKenna: Yes, yes. Yeah, just borderlands and the center map, which keeps escaping me.

Rubi: Names, they are hard.

McKenna: It's okay. Yeah.

Rubi: You have said a lot of words, so you are allowed to miss a couple.

McKenna: True and there is 5 new mission types coming out for World vs. world. And one of them is up right now. It is World vs. world challenge. This one, challenge is kind of towards like all the random things fall into this kind of category. So this is the Oasis event, collecting. For easy you only have to collect three power cores and turn them in. For medium and hard you have to turn in more power cores. Then one of the other ones is completing Obsidian Sanctum, which is like the jumping puzzle.

Rubi: Yeah.

McKenna: That is a hard World vs. world challenge by the way. I also, I'm hoping that one of the PvE people used to doing guild mission puzzles will. Because it is very similar to a puzzle in a lot of ways. The only thing is that other players can kill while you are doing it.

Rubi: Yeah, I was like outraged, absolutely outraged the first time that happened. How dare you kill me in a PvP zone?

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: Can't you see I'm jumping?

McKenna: But yeah, hopefully everything will be a cool one for a lot of people. That is one of the WvW challenge missions. Then we have World vs. world capture. This is capturing camps and sentry points specifically. This is kind of the one for smaller guilds. They will be able to do, they can go and just kill sentries and kill camps. Another important thing to add for capture events is that you are going to need at least 3 guild members there for each event when it happens. Because we want to promote actually playing with your guild, not just one person going out like. I captured this sentry point. I got it, you are welcome everybody.

Rubi: Yeah, yeah.

McKenna: So this way three people at least in the guild need to be there for the capture ones. The next one is World vs. world capture and hold. So it is capturing a camp, capturing a tower and capturing a keep and those are obviously easy, medium and hard. And you have to hold it until it reaches tier 1 and auto-upgrades.

Rubi: Okay.

McKenna: So this is else, I mean it's good gameplay but also the new way that the dolyaks work. Where if you escort the dolyaks, it makes them auto-upgrade faster. So there is a lot of ways you can make that go faster too.

Rubi: Oh well.

McKenna: Which is kind of cool.

Rubi: Okay.

McKenna: Then there is World vs. world supply lines, which is escorting dolyaks and completing so many escort events. Again three people have to be there for the escort events. And then the last one is World vs. world rank, which is similar to PvP rank in that you have to earn so much World vs. world experience with your guild.

Rubi: Okay. Can I spend some of my badges and use the potions to rank up? Does that count?

McKenna: Currently yes.

Rubi: Okay.

McKenna: But there is discussion going on. Right now about what is going to happen with that.

Rubi: Okay.

McKenna: Yeah, yeah.

Rubi: It feels, it seems a little circumventy.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: Just now, I just thought of this. I am sorry for springing that on you. Wait a minute, it would mean a lot of badges.

McKenna: Yeah, yeah. Especially with a lot of World vs. world players having a lot of them, so discussions.

Rubi: Okay. And you have twenty-six days.

McKenna: Yeah, yep.

Rubi: People keep saying it to me, so I thought I pass on the excitement and terror.

McKenna: Yep. Every day.

Rubi: All right. That's kind of the first overall look at guilds today and we have a whole lot more coming. What is your favorite part of what we showed off today? I'm just gonna ask each of you.

McKenna: Down the line.

Rubi: Yeah. We will start with Darren.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: He is like shoot.

Dara: On the spot.

Darren: Yeah. I'm. It is not something we talked about on the show, but it is actually the expedition. I think it is really interesting thing.

Rubi: Yeah, yeah. There was, there was not a good way show that, but it is really neat. When I was trying it, I got the Lost precipice and starting looking around and realizing a) the sheer scope of the guild halls. Which continues hitting me over and over. We are gonna look at that, we are gonna look at Lost Precipice later on this week. But and I guess the strategic part that you really have to do. It was a lot of coordination and at one point, Kogga. Did we decide it was Kogga?

Dara: It is Kogga.

McKenna: Kogga, yeah.

Rubi: At one point Kogga, she is like on her loudspeaker, because I was just doing it by myself. I was just using a few cheaty dev hacks, just to get through. Make sure I knew what was going on. And she was like on the loudspeaker going if you spread out it will go faster. You knew she is down there going. Oh my gosh, what is wrong with you? But it, it was nice that it fosters that cooperation and you guys have to work together. And when I failed, I got another chance. The air got a little more toxic, because of these Mordrem vines, but I could still keep going so. If you screw up it is not insta-death.

McKenna: Yeah, yeah.

Rubi: Now you are gone. I was really, really happy. I am excited for you guys to see it when Heart of Thorns goes live. I was really happy. It seems like you guys thought of almost everything.

Dara: Well, something to throw about this. If you guys do fail the expedition like overall. Like when you run out of time.

Rubi: Yeah.

Dara: You'll be able to restart the mission, because once you fund that expedition you can just keep doing it until you have successfully completed and rescued the guild hall from the clutches of Mordremoth.

McKenna: We don't make people pay 100 gold each time.

Rubi: There is not such a situation.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: There is not such a situation where the npc takes 100 gold and is like well too bad. I'll pocket that.

Dara: Well, she needed it for repair costs apparently.

Rubi: I guess. How about you, Dara?

Dara: I am also very similar. I like the expeditions and I am particularly excited about them. But I am also really excited about the changes to the UI. I play, from life I have a guild that is across server and we do a lot with our guild. And having a guild panel that is a lot more easy to navigate around. To me that is a big plus. From having to be basically an officer and having to move and manipulate things. So.

Rubi: Nice.

Dara: I am also really excited about the guild panel.

Rubi: Yeah, it looks really and it is lot clearer. I felt overwhelmed when I first looked, but once I took 30 seconds just looking at what was going on. Okay, now I get it. I feel a little better about this. It, it's good as far as running you through things and explaining.

Dara: One more thing I wanted to show you.

Rubi: Ooh, what?

Dara: So actually we are not going to be able to see it on this screen, because we don't have a guild that is high enough. But as a guild as now on live you can activate 24 hour buffs for guild.

Rubi: Oh yeah.

Dara: So and you are still going to have the ability to have that through your guild in more permanent ways. Such as waypoint discounts and speed increases while you are within your hall.

Rubi: What. Wooh.

Dara: One of the ways that you'll know is that that is active is by the message of the day is actually going to be pushed over to the side and you gonna have an attributes window.

Rubi: Wooh.

Dara: And so you'll be able to see within your guild panel when those attributes are active when you are in that guild. So anything that is a World v. world consumable that's active, you are going to see in there. Anything that is in PvE, you are going to see in there. And when you guys start unlocking things like your guild music and your guild anthems. You are also going to be able to see your music selections in there, so you can figure out what song is playing. This is really nice. Well there you go. It is in your attributes panel.

Rubi: Guild music and guild anthems, we should talk about that at some point this week, don't you think?

Dara: Yeah, yeah.

Rubi: That is going to be a good idea.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: All right, McKenna?

McKenna: So I personally, so I play more PvP and World vs. world so I am actually more excited for those missions. Because I don't have to play PvE when I don't want to. I mean, there is just more options too. Which I think is always more fun and exciting.

Rubi: I love it.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: Yeah.

McKenna: Those missions.

Rubi: Great. That was, that was kind of where I was going to. We have new kinds of guild missions.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: And we are gonna have them when Heart of Thorns launches.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: It is gonna to be fun. I didn't know about the buff when you set it to random when you open up all of the options. I like that you get more favor if you are more open to different types of gameplay.

McKenna: Yeah.

Rubi: So that's, that's a lot of fun to me. All right, that was everything we wanted to go over today. But we have several more days. I feel that I have been doing a lot of these lately. I am not sure what it is.

McKenna: Yeah, it is pretty busy.

Rubi: All right, that was everything that we wanted to cover today. Thank you all three for coming in and showing this off for us.

McKenna: Thanks for having us.

Dara: Yeah, thank you.

Rubi: And we'll see you guys tomorrow at noon on the next guild chat. Bye guys.

McKenna: See you.
