Dialogue[edit]
- Ah, another visitor. Have you traveled to see Jora, too?
- Who is Jora?
- (if norn)
- It's shameful you don't know your history. Jora saved our people from her corrupted brother, Svanir. She's a hero and a legend.
- Those names sound familiar.
- Long ago, Svanir became corrupted by Jormag's dark magic. Jora bravely killed her brother to protect all norn. She's a hero.
- You seem to be an expert on Jora.
- She fought her own brother to save us from corruption. That strength inspires me in everything I do. I like to think Raven guided me here to protect Jora's legend.
- Where is her statue?
- Northeast of here, on top of that bluff. She stands watch over the snowfields and mountains. I go there to find inspiration and reflect.
- What do you do here?
- I shape stone into images of great warriors or deeds. My work can make your legend live forever. I started out a hunter, like my father, but I never had the passion for it.
- What happened?
- I noticed my hands were the same as my late mother's. I left my father's lodge with her sculpting tools. My hunting life behind me, I went to Hoelbrak to learn the craft.
- Thank you for your story. Take care.
- I'll go see it when I have the time.
- Take care.
- Svanir sounds familiar.
- That disgusting dragon cult. They have a camp to the north. They keep attacking this haven and Jora's statue. We hold them off, but it breaks my focus.
- Someone should take the fight to them.
- Raven's talons, you've got fire in you! Talk to one of the guards. They'll help you.
- Thank you.
- Why do they attack you?
- Because they're crazed. If they can't convert you, they'll kill you. They sneer at all women and hate Jora. They try to destroy her legacy by attacking her statue.
- Why do they look down on women?
- It probably has to do with Jora long ago rejecting Jormag's offer of power. Now they think all women are unworthy of their dragon's greatness. They can stuff that greatness up their loincloths.
- Tell me about Jora. (dialogues continues as above, at "Long ago...")
- Why do they hate Jora? (dialogues continues as above, at "Long ago...")
- Sounds terrible, but I'm leaving.
- What do you know about Jormag?
- It is the ice dragon who awoke in the north. It killed so many norn, and corrupted all those stupid enough to follow it. The Sons of Svanir worship that monster as the ultimate predator.
- What do you do here? (dialogue continues as above)
- Where am I? (dialogue continues below)
- Thanks.
- Interesting, but I'm leaving.
- Thanks, but I'm leaving.
- (if not norn)
- Years ago, she saved my people from corruption at the hands of her brother, Svanir. She's a hero and a legend.
- How did she save the norn? (dialogue continues as above, at "Long ago...")
- Who are you? (dialogue continues below)
- Where am I? (dialogue continues below)
- Who are you?
- I am Ginna Stoneskaald, sculptor, like my mother and grandmother before me. Raven gave me keen vision to craft stone into statues that look almost alive—not to hunt.
- Raven has truly gifted you. You possess the skill of a master.
- I thank Raven, for he guided me here. Sculpting far from Hoelbrak's safety helps me focus, making every strike count. The result is superior work.
- Far from safety? What's the danger here?
- That disgusting dragon cult. They have a camp to the north. They keep attacking this haven and Jora's statue. We hold them off, but it breaks my focus.
- Someone should take the fight to them.
- Raven's talons, you've got fire in you! Talk to one of the guards. They'll help you.
- Thank you.
- Why do they attack you?
- Sounds terrible, but I'm leaving.
- Good to know. Take care.
- Raven swindled you. Your sculpture looks like dolyak droppings.
- A lesser artist would bury her chisel in your skull. Lucky for you, I won't blunt my tool on your thick head. That said, you should leave before I lose Raven's wisdom and my chisel.
- Bah, temperamental artists. You're all alike.
- What are you doing here?
- I shape stone into images of great warriors or deeds. My work can make your legend live forever. I started out a hunter, like my father, but I never had the passion for it.
- What happened? (same as "I noticed my hands were..." above)
- Interesting, but I'm going.
- Where am I?
- This is Edenvar's Homestead. It's quieter than Hoelbrak and away from the Sons of Svanir. Perfect for practicing my craft.
- What's your craft?
- I shape stone into images of great warrior or deeds.
Take care.
- What's with the Sons of Svanir? (dialogue continues as above, at "That disgusting dragon cult...")
- Good to meet you, but I'm leaving.
- Just passing through.
- When the event is available
- Jora stands again. Let those Sons of Svanir tremble in her shadow.
- What happened here?
- The Sons of Svanir tried to tear down the statue to Jora. They'll never break her legend. I'll make sure Jora remains standing.
- Why would they attack this statue?
- They sneer at all women, but they hate Jora twice as much. Long ago, she stood against Jormag's power and survived. Jora's statue reminds them that their dragon isn't so strong, so they come and tear her down.
- Someone should teach them a lesson.
- Wolf's claws, yes! Their grounds up north would make an ideal killing field. Go there to slay them—and may your bloodshed never be quenched! May Jora guide your hand, friend.
- Thanks.
- Sounds terrible, but I'm leaving.
- During the event
- Not now. I have to restore Jora's statue. The Sons of Svanir won't win. Not while I'm around.
- Got it.
- Once the event has been completed
- Jora stands again. Let those Sons of Svanir tremble in her shadow.
- What will happen now?
- The Sons of Svanir are a wound that never heals. They'll come back, and I'll be ready. I'll shatter them as easily as Bear chews through bones.
- Take care.
