Farris Goodwyn is a Durmand Priory scholar who educates travelers about the warclaw mount at Fort Marriner. He has written a book called The Warclaw.

- Well, hello there! You seem the inquisitive sort. Fortunately for you, I have both answers and a lot of spare time.
What are these giant cats?
- Ah, these are warclaws! Ancient creatures of magic that are destined aid those fighting in the Mist Wars. Why? You want one?
- What's the catch?
- No catch! You just need to assemble their magical armor from within the Mists. Then they'll be bonded to you.
- That's a bit of a catch. Will I find this armor in the Mists?
- Yes! The warclaw's proven quite useful, so search fallen foes carefully—I wager they're hunting for pieces as well.
- I can imagine.
- You seem the inquisitive sort. Fortunately for you, I have both answers and a lot of spare time.

- Who are you?

- Farris Goodwyn, very much at your service. Scholar, mage, and now mostly-full-time animal handler.
- Animal handler?
- I'm a Priory scholar, assigned to studying flora and fauna native to the Mists! It's been an honor to work with these warclaws around the clock. They're fascinating beasts.
- And you found them in the Mists?
- Well, not me personally, although I would love to have that credit on my resume. They were indeed discovered here, and seem to have been constructed specifically to fight in the Mist Wars.
- Do you know who created the armor?
- Not exactly. It's similar in many ways to the Exalted, or djinn sand jackals—ethereal spirits bound to physical armor. But then their creators abandoned them on the battlefield.
- Abandoned?
- Terrible, isn't it? These creatures were born and bred for combat, then locked away in their armor for generations. They all seem very excited to get out and back into the fight!
- I'll head into the Mists and see what I can do to help.
