One Torchbearer was stationed at the start of each Beacons of Kryta course. If players attempted to light a Beacon of Kryta outside of a race, the appropriate Torchbearer would be marked as a Personal Waypoint on your map. Otherwise they appeared as Heralds on the map. Speaking with them gave players the torch to start lighting beacons.

- When inspecting a Beacon of Kryta (while the Light all the torches before the Flame of Kryta goes out event is not active) or upon failing a race
- I see you eying our torches. Come find me, if you can light them swiftly in honor of our queen.

- Will you race to light torches in Her Majesty's honor?
I will.- Not just now.
- Upon winning a race
- Well done! I've never seen them lit so fast.
