Annotations version[edit]

I initially created the Family Tree with various annotations (when I created the "fan-art" version, not the Wiki one). My intention was to give just a few short descriptions about each individuals most major achievements (if any) and details regarding birth and death (location, cause, burial, etc). However, it ended up looking quite messy, so I added a simplified version here at the top.

  • Are the annotations useless, now that wiki-links have been added for each individual? If yes: should we just delete this whole section?
  • If no: is there any way to keep the annotations within the tree, but make them collapsable by default (add a +/- behind the names or something)?

I think that any NPCs without articles shouldn't be wiki-linked, I began delinking them and replacing the brackets with bold, regular weight text would probably be ok.
We could have the annotations wrapped in collapsible span tags, i.e.:
Click <span class="mw-customtoggle-textblock" style="font-weight:bold; cursor:pointer; color:#0645AD;">here</span> to display annotations. (you'd put this line at the top of the page)
<!-- Defining people and descriptions -->{{#arraymap:
parameters¦1
3rd¦<span>'''Estrella''' (3rd? wife)<br>*785AE? - †805AE?</span><div class="mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" id="mw-customcollapsible-textblock">Killed by King Oswald Thorn when he put her in a coffin full of rats and dumped it into the sea</div>
|\n|@@@|{{#vardefine:{{#explode:@@@|¦}}|{{#explode:@@@|¦|1}}}}}}<!--

-->
{| border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" style="font:75% sans-serif"
{{family tree|3rd}}

Click here to display annotations. (you'd put this line at the top of the page)

That's exactly what I was looking for :) Just didn't know how to code it. I'll start doing this with them all now :) Titus The Third User titus the third.png 14:22, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
Edit/p.s. not right now though. The sun is shining too bright outside :)
Ehm. Fixed it. Kinda. Not entirely bug free though. I can't find my mistake though (see the colspan stuff at the Thorn section). Anyone? Titus The Third User titus the third.png 18:14, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
there was a rogue equals sign in there. I wasn't seeing any change in font size from the small tag, so i removed it. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:43, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

Roderick vs Edair?[edit]

In the annotations for King Roderick, I wrote that he "Succeded the throne after Baede's death". This statement is not 100% cannon lore, only a logical conclusion: based upon the date of King Baede's death in 1256 AE, and the fact that we're told that King Roderick ordered the building of the Upper City gardens in 1265 AE - only 10 years later.
However, (I guess the source is Sea of Sorrows) Prince Edair is said to have been named as Baede's successor in 1256, which totally screws up my logical argument. Was Edair overthrown after less than 10 years on the throne, or was he never actually crowned as king? Titus The Third User titus the third.png 22:50, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

Edricks age[edit]

Just a thought on Edricks age.

The family tree has his date of birth estimated as 802, but the [[1]] says that he was barely 20 when he was locked in the shell of insanity, which would put his date of birth at closer to 805. Also, I feel this would affect Henriettas date of death, as it is probably far more likely for a 5 year old to manage to kill her, than a 2 year old . His mothers date of death would have to be adjusted accordingly as well.

You're absolutely right. Nice catch! :) I missed that one.
But: what does "barely" really mean in this context? - does it mean he was indeed 20 at the time of death (just recently turned 20). Or does it mean he was "in his (very) early 20s (20-23 perhaps)?
From thedictionary.com: "only just; scarcely; no more than; almost not". By this definition, doesn't "barely" confirm that he had just recently turned 20 before he was locked away? Titus The Third User titus the third.png 20:32, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, my understanding of it was that he had recently turned 20/ was not yet 21. --121.72.119.139 00:54, 29 June 2014 (UTC)IndecisiveMimic

Its broken![edit]

Page is breaking when loaded, random generated error here: [ccb95de3] 2014-10-27 17:57:16: Fatal exception of type MWException 18:07, 27 October 2014 (UTC) Yumiko Ishida.

Thanks for the report. I've reverted Titus' last edit since it seems to have caused it. @Titus, I expect the error comes from the wierd characters rather than particularly broken wikicode. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 19:44, 27 October 2014 (UTC)
@Alex: Though not exactly broken, I made the three wider when inserting the new Orrian royalty, and I think the 2 last wives of good old Thorn have fallen outside the viewable space. I did try to edit #vardefine:parameters accordingly, but couldn't get it to work. Titus User titus the third.png 12:28, 29 July 2017 (UTC)

Feedback 2017/05/13[edit]

Hey. Fist of all a lil disclaimer xD. I'm from Germany so sorry, if I don't got the best english.

I wanted to mgive a lil feedback here, because I just finished reading "The Sea of Sorrows" and revering to this book King Beada had 4 childs One an elementalist, a famous Mesmer, Prince Edair and Princess Emilane. And I just recognissed that in this page the mesmer one is missing. I just got the book in german. In my one it is writen at Page 351. Maybe u can check this and rather correct me or your article.

Btw. nice work u all have done with this hole Wiki

{{Family tree/textbox|UNBA2|'''Unnamed child''' <br>*?|Known to have been a mesmer.}}
Hey, I've added another child beneath King Baede, since I don't have the book I've left the child's information blank. If we update the line matching the above on the template we can change it. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:02, 13 May 2017 (UTC)
Hi. This is very interesting information. I searched through the book (I have the Kindle version), but couldn't find any mention of one of his kids being a mesmer. The english does say he had 4 kids, so I don't know why I initially put up only 3, must have slipped. :).
Since the German version seem to contain some additional info, could someone with access to it post a screenshot or something of page 351? Don't worry about translating it. I'm not exactly fluent in German, but I should be able to read it :) Titus User titus the third.png 14:59, 28 July 2017 (UTC)

New Orrian royalty[edit]

As far as I've gathered there have been added 4 new (previously unknown) members to the Orrian royal family in the latest patch and season 3 finale One Path Ends:

  • King Cyrus the Unremarkable
  • Queen Bahar
  • Queen Mahtab
  • Queen Yasamin

However, as far as I've seen thus far, I can't find anything at all specifying when they lived, or who they are related to. I stopped playing a while back, but do still check in on the wiki from time to time, and I'm still following the story on Youtube. I did watch a recording of the story, and unfortunately I couldn't really find any relevant information about these characters. They may possibly have more interesting dialogue in other settings(?), but as heart vendors, I'm starting to doubt it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, and point me towards the juicy bits. If I'm not, I must say I couldn't be more disappointed in the implementation of these characters, and the complete lack of attention to details and lore-rich story bits! :/ Titus User titus the third.png 10:26, 28 July 2017 (UTC)

They each have extra dialogue in the storyline, and during such Mahtab is the only royalty to insult charr for destroying Orr and seems to take the invasion very personally (and not in a "you destroyed my homeland" personally but a "you caused my dead" personally), implying she was alive during that time. Since she isn't aged, I'd say she's probably Reza's wife.
The other two I wouldn't be surprised if they were the wives of Cyrus and Zoran, making it the "three last royal families" that show up. But I have no way to confirm. Konig (talk) 19:01, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
It is indeed quite fitting that we now have 3 kings and 3 queens. Makes it even more curious to me why they haven't actually added any more specific info. I wonder if it is possible to piece it together somehow with hidden clues here and there. *small hopes* Titus User titus the third.png 09:51, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
Edit: There is a remarkable resemblance in their clothing. See comparison below: Titus User titus the third.png 11:45, 29 July 2017 (UTC)

personally), implying she was alive during that time. Since she isn't aged, I'd say she's
probably Reza's wife.

Due to age and personality, I would actually switch Bahar (who, like Zoran, speaks of compassion/love) and Yasamin (who's ferocity would certainly overshadow that of Cyrus, if they were wed). I'd even hazard to guess Cyrus may be brother to one of the princes from the PS, given he was "overshadowed by his brothers" in fame. (I initially thought Zoran's or Reza's brother due to his siblings being "all revered Orrian royals", however, being siblings, this would imply brother(s) and sister(s) overshadowing and we never got the indication of either Zoran or Reza having a brother or sister to help overshadow Cyrus; also, the existence of princes indicate that brothers/sisters in Orrian royalty would not also be called kings and queens). We missed one: Queen Doran the Cheerful. Konig (talk) 20:58, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

Prince Edrick Thorn - son of Lady Lyrica and unknown WIFE?[edit]

Either I'm reading it wrong, or the formatting is broken - shouldn't the line connect Oswald Thorn and unknown wife, instead of Lyrica and unknown wife?--Cyberman 09:08, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

You're correct, so I fixed it --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 09:51, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Jennah's father[edit]

In Strangers among Lands Isgarren mentions "Linus" and seems to imply that this is the name of Jennah's father. The specific line is: "Stubborn as Linus. Your mother would be horrified." Should this page get updated?
