Moa Racing[edit]

Would this qualify as an activity? We apparently don't get to actually be in the race, it's more just betting on moa racers that race on their own. Vahkris (talk) 16:10, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

It could be one. i suspect it is something like this gww:Rollerbeetle_Racing--2.248.160.247 22:06, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
Based on the description, no, players won't be racing. We'll just be betting on the outcome of AI moas racing against each other. Still, I can't think of anything else to categorize this as. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 22:28, 5 June 2013 (UTC)
Well, it's actually called an activity in-game...might as well leave it as one. Vahkris (talk) 17:43, 12 June 2013 (UTC)
Inactivity would actually be a better categorization, but we don't officially have that category ;) Not a fan of Moa Racing, hope Bar Brawl and the other activities that were promised before release will be a bit more active and fun. — 08RayGame bug.png 22:03, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Dragon Ball Arena[edit]

Dragon, Dragon, Ball Dragon, Dragon Ball (Z) Arena! Hehe. For Glory, For LegendDarkheart 16:46, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

I'm assuming it is going to be this...http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Dragon_Arena. Is it worth putting a GW1 link box?176.24.170.50 16:55, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
Not on this page, no. When we have enough information to write the Dragon Ball article, it would go there. However, I'd think that this would actually warrant a full Trivia note explaining the origins of the format, instead of just the GW1 box. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 17:16, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
I agree on doing it on the articles page. Maybe a 'the other wiki also has an article' infobox. If it is making things complicated cause the names are slightly different, I would say this is good enough for redirect page on the gww and gw2w for the different names.195.240.63.18 19:09, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
I was very confused that they called it “Dragon Ball” in the article although it was called just “Dragon Arena”… poke | talk 21:27, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Posters in LA[edit]

There are a few posters that popped up in LA at the same time when Queen Karka went active, they have some New Krytan words on it, could anyone translate it please? Thanks :) --Landon144 (talk) 21:22, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

I'm not seeing any new posters in Lion's Arch, unless they're somewhere I'm not looking (I was in Fort Marriner and the central trade area). You might be seeing something early from the Dragon Bash. Can you take a screenshot and put it on Imgur or something? Vahkris (talk) 04:42, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
Just look at the page for New Krytan it's pretty easy to translate and if you could give us a location or translation that would be appreciated ;). Sjacie User:Sjacie 10:45, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
Mhh, there definitly were posters all over in LA, but it seems they were removed again withh the 4th of June update... --Landon144 (talk) 21:06, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
I'll see if I snagged a few random screenshots in LA before 6/4 that might show something. It probably won't be close enough to get text though. Back in Lost Shores, some players could see the posters that were going to be put in later, so that's always a possibility. Vahkris (talk) 22:02, 6 June 2013 (UTC)
Just found one of the posters I saw here, behind the Dragon. There were many, smaller posters scattered over LA. --Landon144 (talk) 09:36, 10 June 2013 (UTC)
This one says Slay the dragon. User Noxx Sig.png 10:43, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Timeline section and important points[edit]

Based on the fact this is a month long, and from certain articles released it seems like something new will happen in the second week, I think a timeline setup might be best for this release. One other thing I was thinking of was putting important plot items/points on the page, similar to how I edited the Southsun releases. There's been a lot of complaints on various forums that people don't know where to go and what to do, and I'm hoping that we might possibly alleviate that a bit. Sort of a half-guide, pointing out important things. Could be worked into either a timeline or other format. Vahkris (talk) 19:22, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

A Guide to Dragon Bash[edit]

Wikizens!

For your information, we've just published a Guide to Dragon Bash on our website and you may find some useful information to reuse: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/a-guide-to-dragon-bash/

Thanks for your work and we're hoping you're having fun! The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stephane Lo Presti (talkcontribs).

Mail from iconic[edit]

I received one from Logan when I logged in. However, I did not receive a different one when logging in to another character (different race), I could just only see the one from Logan as my first login was to a human. Did anyone receive one from Caithe, Eir, Zojja, or Rytlock? If so, I'll build a mail page to store them similar to F&F and we can start adding them. Vahkris (talk) 17:55, 12 June 2013 (UTC)

Yes, it seems to be determined by the first char you log on with after the start of the event. Mine was Asura, and needless to say Zojja is none too please with the idea. Added her rant. 04:41, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Dragon Bash 2012 event page?[edit]

I'm looking at all of the stuff for this event, including what is likely going to be four phases (weekly) and then thinking about the fact this will be made up of two releases yet Dragon Bash will remain through the next release, as well as the fact that this is most likely going to be a Holiday Event (like Halloween, Wintersday, etc). Any thoughts on making a separate Dragon Bash 2012 event page and moving the event-specific information there (activities, rewards, story, mail, etc)? Or should we leave it all here and just let it get bigger and bigger? Vahkris (talk) 15:29, 14 June 2013 (UTC)

You do know that we're living in the year 2013, don't you? :P On-topic, they categorize Dragon Bash as Living World content and not as Special Event content (see achievs tab). Still it looks like this will be a minor annual ingame holiday event, but we can just keep it the way we have it now and if indeed it comes back next year we can always add 2013 to the pages as we have with the other annual events. — 08RayGame bug.png 22:13, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Well, now I feel foolish. I had been looking at the Halloween page, so for some reason I kept the 2012 part in my head. Yeah, I guess we can just break it out next year if it becomes an annual event. Vahkris (talk) 17:34, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
Haha, well I get it ;) But yeah that wouldn't be that much extra work then so we should be okay — 08RayGame bug.png 20:01, 16 June 2013 (UTC)
Just noticed that in the Ceremony and Acrimony cinematic they said it was the first annual Dragon Bash festival so if you still want to I guess it's safe to add 2013 to the pages so we won't have to move everything around next year ;) — 08RayGame bug.png 17:52, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Is this a bug?[edit]

I have completed both "Meet the hosts" and "Dragon Ball Devotee", but the "Dragon Bash Experience" counter still says I have only 1 dragon bash achiement. I don't think that's correct. (screen shot) ~ dragon legacy 12:17, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

The two Dragon Ball achievements do not count towards the achievement total. They said in the Dragon Ball introduction video it wouldn't. However, there's a forum thread about Dragon Ball not counting and ArenaNet indiciated will probably be changed the start of next week.--Relyk ~ talk < 14:11, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Letter[edit]

Should we document every 5 possible letters? They are different depending on the race. Logan/Rytlock/Eir/Caithe or Zojja all send them, but with different outlook on them. Ventriloquist (talk) 22:17, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

We should definitely document them all somewhere. Felix Omni Signature.png 22:22, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
I like the approach I used for Flame and Frost mail, we put all the mail on its own page.--Relyk ~ talk < 23:15, 15 June 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, since there's more than one letter we should put them on their own page. I'll move it once I get back to my computer unless someone beats me to it. Vahkris (talk) 17:37, 16 June 2013 (UTC)

Burning Man reference?[edit]

The burning effigies in the Memories on the Pyre are reminding me of the Burning Man festival, perhaps a reference? ~ Sanna 18:33, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Burning in effigy has been a practice for hundreds of years. Burning Man is just one instance of it. So there is a connection, but only insofar as our effigies and Burning Man are both effigies to be burned. Felix Omni Signature.png 19:03, 18 June 2013 (UTC)
Given that the effigies burned here are direct representations of the enemy we fight, I'd say it's a more direct reference to Guy Fawkes Day, since the Burning Man effigy is purely symbolic. Still not direct enough to warrant a trivia note, of course. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 21:00, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Single-player instance[edit]

What's the actual name of this instance? Is it "Memories on the Pyre" (from blog post) or "Memorials on the Pyre" (from patch notes)? Looking for the text shown when mousing over the gold star on the map, as well as the text in the instance. If they're different, think I might just call it "Ceremony and Acrimony", after the achievement. Vahkris (talk) 19:54, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

Created it using Ceremony and Acrimony. We can rename later. Vahkris (talk) 21:32, 18 June 2013 (UTC)

A Future In Politics[edit]

A Future in Politics is an instance I can enter when I talk to Inspector Kiel but it snaps me to my personal quest marker, though I'm in an LA instance, with only her and one other NPC, but nothing works. Anyone know what this instance is for? ~~000.00.00.00~~ 10:54, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

It's a bug. There was supposed to be a conversation in there, but they moved it to the open world. I went ahead and created a page for it, and placed the conversation that was supposed to be there on it, to keep track of it. Vahkris (talk) 16:17, 10 July 2013 (UTC)
