it would be great if someone could create a table for listing Birthday gifts. Recnamorcen (talk) 20:28, 21 August 2013 (UTC)

Not sure if we'll need one. Unlike Guild Wars 1, Guild Wars 2 seems to only have one gift, which includes all three items. (My Norn Ranger, Tara Pard, received hers today.)--Enda - talk 13:32, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
Aye, I can confirm that. 3 of the 4 of my chars expecting birthday gifts today have already got their gifts and they were all the same. User Tytan Crow Crow.jpg Titan Crow 16:00, 25 August 2013 (UTC)
And... why we want more than one gift if we can't sell the minipets and can't use the lvl20up scrolls? 83.33.236.101 17:25, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
You can always get more character slots for new characters for the level-up scrolls, and each character can have an individual minipet, in case you want Queen Jennah following you around everywhere. Or you can destroy them; your choice. Vely►t►e 18:03, 30 August 2013 (UTC)

Second vs First Gifts[edit]

For comparison: my second BD gift is just called "Birthday Gift." The insta-L20 experience scroll it contains doesn't stack with the ones from last year. (And they still haven't changed the icons, so that item and the skill point +5 use the same image.) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:37, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

We should move the second birthday gift to the correct name, but it honestly doesn't make sense too. Neither does disambiguating by year since the first year doesn't use Birthday Gift.--Relyk ~ talk < 07:17, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
We document things the way they're named in-game, even if it "doesn't make sense." —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:27, 25 August 2014 (UTC)

Third Birthday Gift contents[edit]

I'm quite certain it's Celebratory Dye Pack not dye kit. Also, the table contents are not lining up now that they are giving out more than one of each item; I would just put a more simple table in. Does anyone have an objection to this? — Foxman525 User Foxman525 Image-User Foxman525 sig.png 06:20, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Will that suffice? -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 08:39, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
I suppose that works, thank you! — Foxman525 User Foxman525 Image-User Foxman525 sig.png 10:37, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
Is it worth noting that the Finisher is a one off account wide gift and that you don't get one for every char like we did for the mini queen? User Tytan Crow Crow.jpg Titan Crow 16:13, 25 August 2015 (UTC)
It might even be worth just removing it from this page, as you don't receive the finisher from the present itself (as I assumed from seeing this page, but now know what the go is), but from the achievement associated with having the 3rd birthday. 124.168.25.142 07:13, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

Is August 24th The Real Earliest Date?[edit]

On GW2efficiency my necromancer says that it was created on August 24th at 21:32. But this wiki page says the earliest date possible is August 25th. So I believe the wiki may be wrong here. Character Proof: https://gw2efficiency.com/c/Eradion GW2-Aug24thNecro.png

Can anyone shine some light on this for me? Did I somehow make a character before everyone else? Or is the earliest possible date just off by a day? --Omnipotent (talk) 19:19, 24 June 2016 (UTC)

Throwing a guess out there, is the time shown local time, or is it server time? I imagine it might be possible for you to get a gift "earlier" if you are in a different time zone. -Darqam (talk) 19:40, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
I am not entirely sure. I just took the data I saw from GW2Efficiency. My time zone is -8 so it's definitely possible. How would I know for sure? --Omnipotent (talk) 21:22, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
Since I'm not familiar with either GW2's first day or GW2E, the only thing I can think of is to look at the timer when it approaches the change of a month. If the month change happens at the same time as server reset, then it's timezones. If it happens earlier (i.e you tick one month closer 1 day before you should), then you are a time-traveling wizard. -Darqam (talk) 21:17, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
Slightly late to this party, but this is a timezone thing. The "official" start time was midnight PDT = 7am GMT/UTC = 8am BST = 9am CEST, but the servers opened three hours before, therefore at 9pm on the 24th, PDT.

Re: opening of servers for Head Start[edit]

The previous text says that the early opening of the servers was discovered by "persistent players", but in fact the possibility of an early opening was announced by email on 22 August 2012. The relevant piece is reproduced below.

(French, sorry.)

Cependant, veuillez noter qu’afin d’être complètement préparés pour cette heure fatidique, nous allons peut-être mettre les serveurs en ligne entre 06h00 et 09h00 du matin, le 25 août.

Approximately: "Nevertheless, please note that in order to be completely prepared for this fateful moment, we are perhaps going to put the servers on line between 6am and 9am on 25 August." These times are in CEST, so 9pm PDT on 24 August. Cynique (talk) 08:22, 2 June 2019 (UTC)
