Dialogue[edit]
- At Bloated Beach, on approach
- Siren Master: Ah, you found your way. The music of the soul... Is it calling to you?
- <Character Name>: I think so. It's faint, an echo.
- Siren Master: You've come to the right place. Here, the magic of song awaits those who are attuned to it.
- Siren Master: You are a Siren of Orr. You can call the Chancel of Echoes and manifest power through the Divine Dirges.
- <Character Name>: What are you talking about?
- Siren Master: As the reliquaries are reclaimed and illuminated, other aspects of Orr also come back to life.
- Siren Master: The Sirens were once great sorcerers. Only a fraction of their magic remains.
- Siren Master: Orr recognizes you as a sympathetic spirit. I can teach you to call a chancel and conduct your magic.
- Siren Master: When you are ready, I will send you to the Gallery, the ancient home of the Sirens of Orr. There you may train.
- At Bloated Beach, with the Siren of Orr mastery unlocked
- What a pleasure to see you again, fellow Siren of Orr. Would you like to return to the Gallery and rehearse?
- Yes, thank you. (Teleports player to the Gallery, an area above Grenth's Reliquary)
- Not right now. I just wanted to say hello.
- At Grenth's Reliquary for the first time
- Behold, a Chancel of Echoes!
- What is it? (Same as "Tell me about the Chancel of Echoes again, please." below)
- I'd like to look around here a little, if that's okay.
- Actually, I'd like to return to the shore, please. (Teleports the player back to Bloated Beach.)
- At Grenth's Reliquary (subsequent conversations)
- Greetings, fellow Siren of Orr. How may I help you?
- Tell me about the Chancel of Echoes again, please.
- It's a manifestation of magic beyond time. Sirens' voices fade as time passes, but they remain and are drawn to the presence of other sirens. Their power is further amplified by the sounds of combat.
- This one is always here?
- This is our Gallery, where sirens through the ages have practiced the songs of our gods. In this place, I easily maintain and active Chancel of Echoes for training new Sirens of Orr.
- How does it work again?
- Interact with the Chancel of Echoes and the music will coalesce in your mind. You will then be ready to sing the god's song.
- Which god's song?
- Whichever song has crescendoed to dominance. Alternatively, speak with a Choir; they have sung the songs of their gods for so long, they are able to pluck a single chorus directly from the echoes.
- Tell me about the songs, please? (Same as Remind me about the different songs? option)
- Never mind.
- Never mind.
- Never mind.
- Never mind.
- Remind me about the different songs?
- What would you like to know?
- Tell me about the Dirge of Balthazar.
- Balthazar's dirge affects all creatures in the area, both friend and foe. His is the song of Turning the Tide. It assists allies and hurts enemies.
- I'd like to know about another one.
- Never mind.
- Tell me about the Dirge of Dwayna.
- Dwayna's dirge affects any friends near the Siren, filling them with life. Fallen allies will find new vigor and be warded against death for a period of time.
- I'd like to know about another one.
- Never mind.
- Tell me about the Dirge of Grenth.
- The Dirge of Grenth affects friends and foes nearby, casting the Breath of the Mist on them. Enemies move and attack more slowly while friends act more quickly. Allies also gain extra protection.
- I'd like to know about another one.
- Never mind.
- Tell me about the Dirge of Lyssa.
- Lyssa's dirge convinces foes they are their own worst enemy. Half their attacks glance off, and wounds to allies are shared with their attackers, doubly so if the enemy heard the song.
- I'd like to know about another one.
- Never mind.
- Tell me about the Dirge of Melandru.
- Melandru's dirge protects all allies with Wild Growth. It doesn't resist incoming attacks, but it viciously retaliates against the attacker. A loyal mushroom defender manifests to assist.
- I'd like to know about another one.
- Never mind.
- Are those the only songs available? What about Abaddon or Kormir?
- Ancient sirens closely guarded Abaddon's dirge; their echoes are so faint now, drowned out by the multitudes singing the songs of the other gods. And...Kormir? I know not of whom you speak.
- I'd like to know about another one.
- Never mind.
- Never mind.
- What is that roaming mass of darkness?
- That field demonstrates the power of Dwayna's "Preservation of Life." While you are warded by the Dirge of Dwayna, that field will consume your life force, allowing the ward to activate.
- I see.
- I'd like to look around here a little.
- Actually, I'd like to return to the shore, please. (Teleports the player back to Bloated Beach.)
