Dialogue[edit]
- Come to hear stories of adventure and bravery? Then you've come to the right place. I've told the most exciting tales for nearly fifty years. What do you want to hear?
- Jormag.
- When Jormag rose from the ice, our people stood like a mighty armored fist against the dragon. Days stretched into nights, and norn threw themselves against the dreaded Ice Dragon.
- Jormag cut through the norn, hundreds at a time. In the face of destruction, the Spirits of the Wild led our ancestors south to Hoelbrak, where we live and grow today.
- I want to hear another.
- Thanks for the story.
What happened next?
- I want to hear another.
- Thank you. That was enlightening.
Tell me about the battle against - Hear the tale of Jora, who fought corruption and paid a dreadful price. Three generations ago, the warrior Jora and her brother Svanir faced temptation with a dark power.
- Svanir accepted the dark power, becoming corrupted while Jora fought against it, losing her ability to transform. Jora saw what her brother had become and feared for her people.
- She faced down her twisted brother and killed him, breaking the corruption's hold on Svanir. Jora lost her brother, but she saved her family name and her people.
- I'm hungry for more. Tell me another.
- A fine tale. Thank you.
What did she do?
Tell me more.
- I want to hear another.
- That was great. But I've run out of time for more stories.
Tell me a tale of heroism and sorrow.
- Travan lived sixty years ago, before you were born. One night, on his homestead, he sheltered a pair of wounded humans who were attacked by grawl.
- The grawl followed the bloody trail to Travan's lodge. Travan stood between the wounded and the grawl, fighting for hours with bare hands and clenched fists!
- If Travan went back for a weapon, the grawl would slip by and kill the humans. Travan kept fighting, even as more grawl attacked. By morning, Travan's corpse covered all of theirs.
- Impressive. Now I want to hear another.
- Thanks for the tale.
Why didn't he grab his armor and weapons?
What happened next?
- Regale me with another.
- I've heard enough stories for now.
Tell me about fighting in the face of certain death.
- My first memory has my father telling stories around a fire. I've heard tales my whole life, and I learned they live forever.
- I want to hear another story.
- That's all I have time for today.
Here's one. Tell me about yourself.
- I haven't. I was simply stopping to say hello.
