These are the expected rewards for a level 79 player. Higher level players receive dynamically adjusted rewards.

Event pre: Historian Vermoth: You must be the backup I requested. Ready? It's a rough trip to the Cathedral of Lights.; Historian Vermoth: I've been researching Orrian history to prepare for this task. It's fascinating!; Historian Vermoth: But I digress. Let's get moving. I'll explain along the way.; Historian Vermoth: That statue of Dwayna in her temple powers all her smaller statues throughout Orr. If I can disable the power source, troops all over the island will have an easier go.

When Vermoth reaches the plaza checkpoint, a band of undead soldiers rises from the earth and attacks: Undead Lieutenant: Arise! Stand and fight for Zhaitan!; Historian Vermoth: It looks like the lights aren't all that remain. We'll have to fight our way across.

At 25% crossing: Historian Vermoth: Once a year, the ancient Orrians illuminated the course way from the temple to Doric's shrine. This plaza shimmered like a jewel!

At 50% crossing: Historian Vermoth: The lighting ceremony honored Doric's role as the first king of Tyria—and the first to kneel at Dwayna's feet.

At 75% crossing: Historian Vermoth: I wonder if any of those lights remain...

When band of undead in plaza are defeated: Historian Vermoth: As you can see, the temple grounds are defended by Dwayna's followers. (sadly) It's tragic that they now serve Zhaitan.

If players succeed in crossing the plaza with Vermoth, the plaza lights flicker on and this line is triggered by checkpoint: Historian Vermoth: Look! The lights! They’re as glorious as the manuscripts said they were.

If players failed in crossing the plaza with Vermoth: Historian Vermoth: Retreat!

The quaggan soldier and his troops form a line in front of the player and Vermoth, preventing their progress: Risen Lieutenant: Zhaitan owns this temple now. He forbids your intrusion.

If players try to enter the temple, the quaggan fires this line: Risen Lieutenant: Zhaitan sanctions quaggan to reclaim this place. His power flows through quaggan!

Event failure: Risen Lieutenant: Quaggan claims this altar for Zhaitan with quaggan's own blood.; Risen Lieutenant: His power will course through it and spread across all of Orr!

Historian Vermoth will be standing alone in the plains and will automatically begin the event once a player gets within a set distance from him.
This event starts five minutes after Protect the Cathedral of Zephyrs or Escort Historian Vermoth to the Altar of Tempests failed.
