moving pages[edit]
The next time you see a page under the wrong name, instead of manually converting it to a redirect and copying the content to the correct name, you can use the "move" tab at the top to move the page (along with its edit history) to the new name. —Dr Ishmael 02:13, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
My apologies[edit]
Sorry for reverting you on Defeat the Pyroclastic Jade Construct. I truly thought there were no White Mantle foes in Emery Bay and I've done this event a few times. I'll try not to be so hasty with reverts in the future. --Cali (talk) 00:36, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
- No problem, and of course sometimes I do edit the wrong things the wrong way. It surprised me when I saw them there (they even still are bloodstone-crazed) but it was an empty map so I was alone for the first few minutes. Spannu (talk) 00:58, 26 September 2016 (UTC)
<3[edit]
Heya,
Thanks so much for all the effort you put into doing the effects documenting (and more). It's greatly appreciated (notably because I don't have to think about it anymore :D). <3. -Darqam (talk) 00:34, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
- Same to you, especially for the assets that go with so many pages; somehow I went from clicking things to spam chat to having a vision of everything linkable in game showing up on here someday. Spannu (talk) 04:51, 19 October 2016 (UTC)
Moving Files[edit]
Thanks so much for helping with naming the icon files, greatly appreciated! One request though, if you move an image file, could you also tag the redirect/move remnant page left behind for deletion after doing so? It would be a big help, as image files should never have a redirect, it makes things weird(or so I've been told heh). =) - Doodleplex 23:11, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
- Sure; I'm still in the process of adding/updating pages for yesterday's content but I do plan on tagging them later if they aren't cleaned up already. Spannu (talk) 23:13, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you! <3 - Doodleplex 23:21, 22 November 2016 (UTC)
- Adding on to this, I shall pass on the wisdom that was once given to me (cause vent was mad at me). If you put a delete template on a redirect page, make sure it's BEFORE the redirect line. Apparently if you don't, admins may get directed to the actual page as something to delete. -Darqam 01:37, 23 November 2016 (UTC)
- did someone mention my name But yes, adding any tag before a redirect is preferred, because it overrides the (automatic) redirect function. —Ventriloquist 17:37, 23 November 2016 (UTC)

Pages with special characters[edit]
Page titles shouldn't really contain question marks or ampersands on the wiki - they become very difficult to navigate to. Not sure what we'll call that page. -Chieftain Alex 23:48, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
- I suspected that would happen but it didn't give my any warnings. Can you change it to something like "Unseen Burden (Deimos)"? The real name can be tagged in the infobox. Spannu (talk) 23:56, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
Image Sizes[edit]
If it's possible, can you upload larger images of the Tiger Dens? Larger pictures usually means more quality, so if it's possible it would be greatly appreciated. =) - Doodleplex 03:48, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
- Sure, I'll pick out a better one. I started resizing after a large screenshot I posted long ago was replaced, assuming it was a standard policy to save bandwidth. Spannu (talk) 05:13, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
- Nah, bigger is better, and there are other ways to reduce file size that don't involve shrinking the picture. Go take those big ol' pictures! =) - Doodleplex 05:18, 18 February 2017 (UTC)

Those effect IDs[edit]
I have to say, I've done a bit of gathering of effect IDs myself in the past, and the normal pattern for me is:
- Prep the /wiki in chat and pray I don't need to type something else in the mean time.
- Wait ages for the effect to actually be applied to me.
- Click on that darn icon before it goes away as it dances back and forth in the list of ever-changing boons and debuffs.
- Get myself back into the game, as I'm likely dying while staring at the wiki search page.
- After all's said and done, try to remember what effect matches with the ID sitting on said wiki search page.
Basically, grabbing a single effect was nearly always shit-show. What's your secret? I cannot believe you're doing the same steps as me so often and in such big fights! G R E E N E R 17:41, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
- It's mostly the same but the issues are negligible to me; I rarely clear chat or worry about dying by timing things carefully (conversely: wipes are great for spending a few seconds on searches). Queuing searches (i.e. not hitting enter right away) and taking screenshots/replays helps a lot, and codes can also be viewed again in chat later before leaving the map/instance. So it's:
- Notice interesting new effects
- Shift-click all of them and click out of chat to regain camera/keybind control
- Take screenshot(s), mainly for icons but sometimes also for descriptions/stacks/durations
- Depending on how easy gameplay is, prepend /wiki and hit enter to start the search during or after the event ends
- If I had to search immediately and couldn't get screenshots, copy the codes back into chat and take screenshots from the chat log instead.
- Some of it may be alt-tab delay/reaction time/latency/group performance/etc., but mostly it's just queuing searches, dumping them back in the game, and taking screenshots if I know I'll have to leave the area. Overall it's still messy and I do sometimes end up with things I can't trace at all (or, I know exactly how they worked but don't remember the wording enough to bother making a page). Spannu (talk) 17:56, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- "...wipes are great for spending a few seconds on searches" I always enjoy having another reason for why missing a critical dodge isn't so bad ; ). I honestly never thought of going back into my chat and adding the /wiki after the fact, though! Now that's a simple trick I wish I'd thought of. Thanks! G R E E N E R 20:22, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I'm usually too stubborn to die even when a wipe is inevitable, but copying chat codes back from the search back into the game is probably the best trick for things I missed in the moment. Combined with Darqam's work it covers 99% of effects if I actually put effort into it. Spannu (talk) 08:51, 31 January 2018 (UTC)

Effect question[edit]
Hiya! I have a question for you about two effects you made pages for: Shackles of Order and Regret of Chaos. I've replayed that instance 3 or 4 times and I've not been hit by those effect once by a Branded Priestess. Is it possible some other NPC applies them? If not, where did you find the effect in the instance, perhaps that'll help me find it. Cheers! - Doodleplex 02:48, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
- Somewhere before this point:
- That's a long time ago so I can't remember exactly, however I generally wait until hit multiple times where it isn't obvious to confirm the source. Spannu (talk) 03:44, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
- Interesting it looks like you were hit with it a lot. Either it was a different NPC that was applying it or they removed that effect, which may be what happened seeing as how neither me nor my party member(who I told to keep an eye out for the effect) didn't seem to get hit by. I'll keep looking, thanks! - Doodleplex 03:51, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
- The chat log is me pinging it back to myself (see Greener's question above). However I vaguely remember that instance having a part where priestesses are protecting the branded dragon, and they use it to interrupt you. It might be the only time it gets applied.
