A Bag is an item that is used to increase the number of items a character can have in their inventory. They come in a variety of sizes (from five to twenty slots) and special features (e.g some will hide items from vendor sell screens). New characters start the game with room for four bags and this can be expanded to seven bags through the Gem Store.

Definition

"Bags", the generic term for a storage device equipped by a player, include three distinct categories: cloth bags (made by a Tailor}, leather packs (Leatherworker), or metal box (Armorsmith). For the sake of simplicity this article will refer to all three categories as "bag" or "bags" unless a distinction is made for a tailored bag.

Function and features

All bags fulfill the same basic purpose: they increase the number of items a character can hold in their inventory. There are seven known sizes of bag available, ranging from 5 slots (each character starts with these) up to 20 slots. Adding different ingredients during the crafting process will result in a different utility in the finished bag.

There are five variations of bag:

• Basic — No special properties
• Craftsman's Bags — Looted crafting material is placed here first. Tailor only.
• Oiled Packs — Looted junk is placed here first. Leatherworker only.
• Padded Boxes — Looted weapons and armor are placed here first. Armorsmith only.
• Invisible Bags — Items in these bags cannot be sold to merchants. They do not move when inventory is sorted. Invisible boxes are named Safe Boxes.

Recipes

The recipes for crafting a bag are similar across the three disciplines:

• All crafted bags require 10 pieces of refined material (ingots, Bolts of cloth, or leather squares).
• Bags with special utility require the addition of 3 pieces of the appropriate Fine Crafting Material, either Bone, Scale, or Dust.
• Bags with a capacity of 10 slots or higher require a rune of the appropriate level.

Additional bags

Bag slots may be purchased from the Gem Store for for 400 per slot per character (you cannot buy an account-wide increase in the number of bag slots). Each character can have up to 7 bag slots.
