Does this[edit]

Does this belong in mainspace? It seems like a template that should be moved to userspace to me. —Jyavoc 19:06, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

Nothing wrong here, it's a general-usage user template, so it belongs in the Template: namespace. However, I changed its category from Category:Infobox templates to Category:User templates, since all user-focused templates (whether in Template: or User: namespace) should be categorized there. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 19:34, 21 December 2012 (UTC)

World[edit]

Should not this have a World parameter? Also, "server" should be renamed to "region" to match ANet's nomenclature. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 02:16, 15 February 2013 (UTC)

It looks like some people are already using the "server" parameter as world, see:
{{#dpl:
| namespace = User
| uses = Template:User infobox
| include = {User infobox}:server
| table = {{STDT|sortable}},dye,server
}}
(remove nowiki tags and preview) —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 02:26, 15 February 2013 (UTC)
Either case, there's no way to put both region and world. And in any case ANet's nomenclature is always preferable within the official wiki. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 02:17, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
I was just pointing out that maybe you should do it the other way - change server to world and add region. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 03:16, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Did stuff, seems to work, have fun.--Relyk ~ talk > 03:53, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
Wee. Oh. Just two more things:
  • Leaving "campaigns" empty makes an empty "campaign" section appear. Since GW2 has no campaigns, many people are leaving those empty. And so they are getting an empty row, if none of the campaign parameres are set the row should not be added.
  • There was no way to set 'region' now. As guesting in other regions does not work, it may come in handy to have it for user infoboxes. I added this on because single parameter optional ones are easy to add. I believe I didn't break anything. I also tweaked a bit the description to match the changes.
(Note to self, gotta practice some template editing in my sandbox in in order not to rely in others doing that... when I have time...)MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 22:30, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
I'll rewrite it. Its a shitty ugly template anyway. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:28, 16 February 2013 (UTC)

Noob Oh god the broken stuff.

(Reset indent) Are the display titles for favprof + favskill too long? Should there be more space between profession icons + names? Should I revert my changes? I want some feedback. :P -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 01:58, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

Long? What do you mean? I think it'll be better if there was an optional parameter to freely put infoboxes, like "custom_infoboxes" or something like that. That way those who don't like the ones that come with the infobox or want to to put some that are not part of it can put their own. It'll be also nice if you could indicate a width for the template.
Oh, and the fav skill infobox does not consider racial skills. Check my user page. It's broken because of that.
I just checked. It's because there's no color templates for the racial color schemes such as [[:Template:Asura-color]]. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 05:25, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
If we are serious about improving the template, I hate the yellow tones used by the template.--Relyk ~ talk > 11:15, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Then set the table class and don't use the yellow default noob. :P It already had an option to change the colour but no documentation ;)
@mith: asura isn't a profession so you deserved for it to explode. You're not using the userbox command as I'd intended btw, either delete the line if you don't want any userboxes at all, or put some custom userboxes in there (this wasn't working when you posted, but should be fixed now). -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:17, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
I hate the default yellow tones used by the template.--Relyk ~ talk > 13:46, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Well it was previously yellow, people chose to use it themselves, so I've left the default to yellow. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 13:54, 17 February 2013 (UTC)
Feel free to choose another colour though from Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Table formatting#List of STDT parameters - bear in mind it only works if its used in an infobox somewhere, so for example, promo doesn't work. (default gray is ok) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 14:28, 17 February 2013 (UTC)

Add gender categories[edit]

There are categories for Category:Users who are male and Category:Users who are female. Shall we add these to the gender parameter? ~ Sanna Talk page 22:28, 10 September 2014 (UTC)

Gender[edit]

"No wierd stuff." really? When do some people realize that the binary gender thing is a thing of the past? And it's a bit weird that there is something this offensive (yes it is) here on the wiki. Asuka (talk) 11:51, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

I've added support for non-binary genders. --Idris (talk) 23:59, 3 April 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for noticing and addressing this lack on our side, Asuka and Idris. G R E E N E R 00:23, 4 April 2018 (UTC)
Thank you folks :) Finally I can remove my custom userbox and use this for gender instead <3 --kazerniel (talk) 08:53, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

Rename skills[edit]

With the increase in skills in general, could we make it so we can change what shows for the name of the skill, like you can do on wiki pages? For example, instead of saying my favorite skill is Monsoon (weaver skill), I'd like to be able to say my favorite skill is Monsoon and still have it link to the right image. (Monsoon links to the staff, which does make sense.) Atelia (talk) 22:46, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

This should be supported now. Thanks for the suggestion! --Idris (talk) 23:59, 3 April 2018 (UTC)

Page content in infobox?[edit]

I just created my user page using this template. For some reason, my page content that's supposed to be outside the template is inside. The code doesn't look any different from how it's supposed to. The infobox code is closed before I started the page content. Can anyone shed some light as to why this is happening? - Mandyrobin (talk) 19:10, 29 January 2019 (UTC)

It seems to be something to do with hiding the userboxes, as changing it to "yes" instead of "y" seems to have fixed it on your page. Not sure beyond that, but at least your page seems to be okay now. Cheers! - Doodleplex 19:26, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
Thank you for your help! :D - Mandyrobin (talk) 20:29, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
You guessed correctly that the infobox had a bug that hadn't been noticed for eight years. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 20:38, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
